But your initial post was complaining that people weren't buying in to Purdy.

Why should they?  Because of the contract?

Congrats on winning some Fantasy Football prize.

I was wondering why people were shitting on Purdy, not that they weren't buying into him.

And since when is cap/roster management a fantasy football prize?  That shit is kinda fucking important.

If you had to pick between Purdy, Burrough, Herbert, or Allen; in which situation do you take Purdy #1?  You have aTop5 OL and Top 3 RB?

Not really a fair question considering Purdy doesn't have as much experience as those other guys.

All of them have flaws.  Burrow can't stay healthy.  Allen can't take care of the football.  Herbert chokes late in games.

If it were me?  I'd probably take the guy I am paying near league minimum because I picked him up dead last in the Draft which allows me to spend elsewhere and keep going back to the NFC Championship game every year while those other guys don't.

Peyton was pretty damn good in year 2. He went 13-3.

    Of course.

Just saying, it's wild how crazy people talk when discussing current players that are putting up insane numbers and winning at historic rates and then acting like they're trash.  Purdy is an extremely good QB.  He has no control over silly MVP talk that doesn't make a shit anyway.

Easy to stat pad when you have Deebo, Ayuk and CMC turn 1-2 yard passes into huge gains and TDs. And play from ahead constantly. Don't hate him or even care about him. Just hate hearing about how great he is when he isn't. He's not even in the same universe as a Peyton Manning who commanded and controlled the entire offense.

Purdy took his team to the NFC championship game in his first season.  Manning threw 28 INTs in his first season.

Purdy has his team back in the NFC championship in his second season.  Manning threw 15 picks and had a QB rating 23 points lower than Purdy.  Then he lost in the WC while going 19 of 42 for 0 TDs.

And no, Peyton wasn't commanding shit on offense in his second year.

Good to know that all a player's stats are invalid now if they have good teammates.  I guess Mahomes is dogwater because he has the best modern day NFL coach outside of Belichick in Reid and the greatest TE of all time.

I mean, forget how bad Brock Purdy is for a second. Do the 49ers even have a defense on the field today? This is like what might happen if you had a real Lion and a real 1849 prospector go up against each other. And since all of the latter group are dead, that's not much of a fight, either.

Why does everyone hate Purdy?  Kid got drafted dead last and he's on less than two years experience.  Seems like a nice guy, too.

It took Peyton Manning seven years to have a QB rating higher than Purdy's was this year.

  6. The Falcons had the right idea three years ago.  They just executed poorly.  The league is run by the offenses these days and the QB is the most important position by far.  So they went and got a hotshot OC, just Blank screwed up and chose someone he had ties to and was "comfortable" with in Smith.  And then they compounded that mistake by never getting the QB position hammered out.  And so what did they get?  Seven wins, three years in a row.

Now, instead of realizing they were on the right track but just executed poorly, Blank is going back to what he knows and what is comfortable in Morris.  Which is exactly how bad organizations stay bad.

CrakRok said it so it must be true

Not saying Bill won't eventually end up the HC, but legitimate sources reported today that Harbaugh is coming in for a second interview next week.

Weird, unless it's some convoluted plan to drive Bill's price down while Harbaugh drives his price up for San Diego.
