Is it too much to ask for Nike to make a plain white Dri-fit polo with a burnt orange longhorn?

    Riddle me that CDC

    Fuck me.

Antigua one for $40. I have a Texas Exes Antigua one and if memory serves they run big. Ie, I think I have a small and I normally wear medium. But they are a great buy.

    Columbia one for $70.

And even a solid Nike one for $62.

  2. Along the lines of this show, I was listening to an old Bill Simmons/Chuck Klosterman podcast before the last season of Breaking Bad.  I'm a fan of Klosterman...  Anyway, Klosterman predicted how Breaking Bad would end.  He mentioned that there was a throwaway scene with Saul + Walter White where Saul asked Walter if he needed someone to help him disappear but Walter dismissed him.. and that Gilligan wouldn't have done that if we wouldn't circle back to it but that he would still need to come back for closure.  Nice shot, Klosterman.

  3. I had a couple of RTIC coolers that I got when they did that big firesale right before the announcement between them and YETI. The Roadie sucked and the Tundra 45 was a bad size and wasn't great.  I had the soft pack 20 as well but eventually sold all of those.

I have a Polar Bear 12 soft cooler that I use to head to the neighbhorhood pool (got that from a Houston Texas Exes golf tournament with the Exes logo embroidered on it) and an Igloo UT "cube" cooler with wheels that I use for birthday parties,....  They work good enough for a day and that works for me.  And alot easier to transport.

  4. I don't travel much for work but I recently flew out to Chicago for fun (3 Cubs games over June 30 weekend) and brought my laptop because I needed to keep up with some work while I was there. But regular laptop bag and I never use it and I used a small backpack for it.  It was ok but it didn't fit anything else.

I was paying attention to other travelers and I saw many had basically laptop/travel backpacks.  ie, it fit their laptop as well as some clothes/travel stuff.

Any recommendations from the shag/surly?  Thanks!

BTW, the blimp was fucking cool as shit, but took FOREVER to inflate, until somebody (not me) realized that there was no need for a regulator on the helium tank.

Man, I remember looking for the blimp in the parking lot of the 2003 @ Iowa State game.

So on top of all his other skills, he's a brilliant artist.  Cmon.  That's a guy who needs to be humbled to be palatable.  Pegg is the balance that humbles him.

My favorite part of Pegg's comedic relief is how he blindly believes Hunt can do *ANYTHING*. It's hilarious seeing that confidence and having Hunt be like "wait give me a sec"....

I completely agree. Pegg does a great job of balancing Hunt, who like in all Tom Cruise movies, is a complete badass who can do anything.

I was rewatching Rogue Nation last night and Hunt had a drawing of Rebecca Ferguson's character.  The drawing was so good they were able to do facial recognition to determine who the girl was.

So on top of all his other skills, he's a brilliant artist.  Cmon.  That's a guy who needs to be humbled to be palatable.  Pegg is the balance that humbles him.

He also memorized a ton of bank accounts and numbers in like 10 minutes.

I still forget my surly password despite stopping by every day and not changing it.

  8. I watched it today after work.  I saw MI 1 & 2 in theaters.  I was a John Woo fan when MI:2 came out and was actually pumped when it came out.  I was a fan of Woo dating back to his Hong Kong flicks though...

I iddn't watch MI 3-5 in theaters but did on blu-ray when they came out.  MI:3 was ok but Ghost Protocol is when they finally put it all together.  I think Simon Pegg/comedic relief is a big part of that.  Rogue Nation was awesome as well.

I think there is some truth in that the pivot that Mission Impossible has taken has some Fast & Furious in there but I prefer MI:4-6 better than the F&F stuff.

Watch it the theaters, guys, it's worth the ticket cost.

Honest question here, if I have not seen any of the previous movies will any of this movie make sense?

You need to watch at the least MI:Rogue Nation first.  I would recommend MI3-5 tho to get the arc with his ex-wife.

    You stole my joke!

I was going to add "super pissed off wife".

  11. My iPhone died on Monday.  I was slammed at work both during the day and conference calls at night that I didn't have a chance to head to AT&T until Thursday afternoon to get a replacement.  Being without a phone, I almost felt naked.  I'm not proud to type that either.

But I couldn't text my wife to let her know I was heading to pick up our youngest at preschool.  Or find out that I had a meeting added at night for early in the morning... Or listen to podcasts on my commute.

Or check email/twitter/surly in the "open times" during the day (like while you're waiting to check out at HEB).

But with smart phones, we rely on these so much.  How did we get there?  How bad is this?

And I have a thought experiment -> let's say that you leave for work and left your phone at the house.  As you are driving, you realize that you left it at home.  How far do you have to be from home to where you WON'T turn back to get the phone?

I have one of those coolers, they suck for keeping stuff cold

Mine is custom-made (they all are I guess) with an Igloo cooler as the "guts".  It isn't galvanized steel.  It is made such that when you close it the lid of the Igloo closes like normal.

Here goes... this is my backyard.  Some work to go still though.

The mini-fridge on the left isn't even plugged in. Sooner than later I want to have a  contractor turn that area into a nest for the BGE.

And this picture was taken around noon.  The wisteria + the pergola give almost 100% shade even year round.  But I will add that I blew off the patio of the wisteria flowers (which actually smells good) before taking the picture.
