Plenty of Free Checking accounts with higher than 3% interest, if you meet qualifications.

This one in Austin pays 3.5: https://www.bankkeystone.com/

Thanks - I don't see the rates or qualifications at keystone, but it doesn't matter since I'm not a resident of the select counties.  I've found some higher rates but there are often caps.

  2. If you're not plastered before you begin, you're doing it wrong.  I mean shit-faced, fall-down blitzed.
Otherwise, I don't know how/why someone would ever play slots for longer than 30 seconds.

I did play craps for 8 hours last night until 5am at the same table.

  4. I've seen a couple of these and they don't look like fun to me.  Sure, you can win money, but who wants to get carpal tunnel mashing a button as fast as possible for an hour or however long they last?

That’s I really good point - I may end up bailing if it sucks. I hate slots anyway but figured it was free so why not.
  5. I'm playing in a slot tournament tomorrow in Shreveport.  Has anyone ever played in one of these?  I never play slots at all so i'm not sure how this is supposed to work.  Do I have to pick a machine to play or do they assign me a machine?  I hope they assign me one because I wouldn't know which to pick.  Any help would be great.

  6. I think you just go from arc port on tv to input on receiver. I think the arc port allows 2-way communication.  From there you can have other crap plugged in to tv or through the receiver.

Doesn’t seem to be working - thought there may be a trick or something I’m missing. I seem to have both the tv and receiver set up for it to work.
  7. I recently had to replace my tv and I got a smart tv with roku built in. Previously I had a stand alone roku in an AV closet attached to an AV receiver that was connected to the TV. Now my tv has the roku built in so I need to get sound from my TV back to the receiver so I can play through the speakers. I think this is what ARC is for but I don’t understand how it works. I think I have it turned on for both the tv and receiver. Anyone familiar with this?

  8. Actually looking for the same. Right now I have a reservation at The Court of Two Sisters. A bit touristy, but it is quintessentially NOLA.

Court of 2 Sisters is terrible...skip it. It used to be good from what I remember a long time ago. We went around Christmas time and there really wasn’t anything good. It was very disappointing. So many other incredible places to eat.
  9. Looking forward to a detailed trip report. We are there for 11 days in July, half the time on the south side (Poipu Shores), half on the north side (Hanalei Bay Resort). Really looking forward to it.

i sold a property without a realtor and we just had the title company prepare everything.  I could be leaving out some minor details as its been 8 years but i remember it being very easy.

I sold my last house sans realtors.  We used a standard TREC contract, i used contracts from prior house purchases as a guide.  We lined up a title company and the title company handled everything.  It was pretty easy.  It helps if both parties are honest peeps negotiating in good faith.  Both parties made out well in the agreement.

  11. I just got an advertisement for blazing fast internet, up to 25 mbps for $49.99.  I'm currently on DSL and get about 9 down and 1 up and it costs $120/month.  I don't have any other options because where I live.  Anyone have any experience with this?  I need very high reliability/uptime.  I assume like satellite tv, service would degrade in bad weather?
