Shit like this happens all the time

That is fantastic. I feel like AUS wants to be a big boy   airport, and it’s getting there.  Seems like having a controlled ramp is a good start.

Southwest captains comment about freedom… smh.

Toyota needs to get the god dammit Hilux produced here in the USA.  There is not a more robust, bulletproof vehicle made.

The best. Land Cruiser is great too.

Wish flights.google.com had a way to filter out all the bullshit fares that charge you for seat selection.

There is a way. Change carry on bag to one and it will filter out the basic fares. Filter works on the fare calendar too.

I totally understand why the Abrams isn't right for Ukraine.  But certainly I'm not the only one who gets hard thinking about a battalion of kickass American Abrams tanks flying across the Ukrainian steppe at 50 mph, shooting shitbox T72's like Parliament and his BB gun killing pigeons.

and the crescendo is these flying in from the flank and finishing everything else off.

This is actually a really important and cool distinction that I spotted as a Texas outdoorsman. When traveling in Europe, I’d see a pretty stretch of river or a lake, and it struck me odd that I saw NOBODY fishing. Last year, we were with some German friends and I commented on it, and he explained 1) how hard it was to get a fishing license, and 2) one of the reasons for that is because the local river (for example) suffered from overfishing starting around the year 800.
When it comes to such resources, in many ways our land and waters are “virgin” in comparison. When I explained to him that if I was forced to obtain protein for my family just from the local waters, I could do so easily. At any decent bridge over a river here, you will see guys fishing for catfish etc, and taking some home. I can get a fishing license for $40 in 2 minutes, and if I live on the coast, probably 15 minutes later I can have my first fish and/or crabs in the bucket. As outdoorsmen, we take for granted our ease of fishing/hunting and our relative abundance.

One of the coolest things I’ve done while traveling was the time my Polish colleagues took me hunting. Stayed at some lodge out in the woods outside of Gdańsk.

Didn’t see shit. It was freezing. But we drank (maybe good) vodka after and ate some good Bialy Barszcz. Fairly certain the blunderbuss I was given would not fire anyway.

  6. I think the idea is with repetition, you either become stronger and the muscles do not become as fatigued, or you become numb to the pain and do lasting damage to muscles, joints, and ligaments.

Either way, at least we had camaraderie and a common goal to strive toward!
