Who's doing color with Vasgersian tonight? He just said it was a 100-yd throw from Bellinger to the cutoff man, then a 150-yd throw to 3B. 750' is pretty fucking long, even for Kauffman.

Guadaloopy has left the reservation.

I'll never get over HSE going away. Got to follow the New Jersey Devils' magical run to the 1988 ECF, and then boom, it's gone like a fart in the wind.

Maybe times have changed, but I graduated high school in the early 2010s. I could not imagine a straight male wanting to play volleyball, at my school anyway. And this was what was the equivalent of a 6A school back then. It is a dumb mindset as there is nothing wrong with volleyball, being gay, or being straight and wanting to play volleyball. I’m just telling you I can’t imagine it being a popular outlet for young men, it very much has the stigma of being an “uncool” or feminine sport. I’m sure that will change with time though.
UHawaii had a men's volleyball team when I worked there in the mid-90s and those guys were fucking rock stars. Every one of their games sold out a 10K seat arena.
Also, part of me can't believe that Texas doesn't have girls flag football yet. Most of the Denver area schools have had it for two years, and participation numbers have been really good. The Broncos played a big role in getting it started up, so maybe Jerrah needs to get it going.

Clickety-Clack, bitches!
QuoteTexas A&M football fans and ESPN's FPI ratings have not always been the best of friends. The FPI usually has the Aggies slotted lower, thanks to its formula, than other objective metrics like SP+ or even the KFord ratings.
However, the proprietary metric of the Worldwide Leader is looking favorably upon the Ags this year, at least in the preseason. By those numbers, the Aggies were the number 8 team upon initial release, and they'll have a chance to climb even higher early in the season with their showdown against Notre Dame in week 3.
Along with the pure ratings, though, there's also projections about possible outcomes. FPI calculates each team's probability to win the conference, make the playoff, make the national championship, etc., and the Aggie faithful should be happy with those projections as well.Texas A&M football predicted to finish 4th in SEC by ESPN FPI
Texas A&M is predicted to finish 4th in the conference in the fall of 2025, which is higher than many have them in their subjective projections. The percentages are really close for the Aggies and Tennessee, and that has a lot to do with the respective schedules of those teams. If the Aggies finish up in 4th, though, that's a true testament to just how good of a season they will have had— their conference schedule is no cakewalk.
It would also mark a first since the Aggies joined the SEC, barring an extremely unlikely outcome: an A&M head coach finishing with a winning conference record each of his first two years. Even with Johnny, Kevin Sumlin only managed a 4-4 mark in the SEC in 2013, and Jimbo did the same in 2019. Elko got to 5-3 last year in the SEC, and this would likely require a 6-2 mark or better.
It's not out of the realm of possibility that this comes to pass, realistically. The Aggies' reloaded receiver corps will play a big part in what they do this fall, especially if they surprise some people, and the progression of Terry Bussey in particular will be key.Add to that a retooled back end on the defense, now under the purview of Lyle Hemphill, and this could be one of the most dangerous teams in the entire country. The hype is slowly building around this squad, and for good reason: the Aggies have a shot at being one of the biggest stories in the nation next year.

This guy thinks that tweet is disgraceful!
QuoteThere should really be no question that Texas A&M football has one of the best home field advantages in the conference. The Aggies have the largest stadium in the conference, and they have consistently performed much better at home than they have on the road, even if the overall record hasn't been the same as a place like Georgia or Alabama.
Apparently, though, that's something that not everyone wants to acknowledge. Despite the tradition of intimidation at Kyle Field for opposing fans, including some high praise from the greatest coach of all time, the Aggies still have to fight for their respect sometimes.
Certain outlets like to put together these kinds of lists in the offseason, ranking everything about a conference that they can think of. In this recent list of best home field advantages in the conference, the Aggies were left off of what is clearly a disgraceful list.Texas A&M shockingly left off list of best home field advantages in SEC
Whenever a list like this comes out, it seems like a foregone conclusion that you'll see Kyle Field at or near the top. The Next Round, however, apparently didn't see fit to include the Aggies:LSU I understand. But outside of the Tigers, I'm not sure there's another team that performs better at home relative to their overall quality in a given year than the Aggies.
Last year, an A&M team that went 8-5 held the national runner-up to 20 points and a team that finished in the top 4 to 17, not to mention what they did to LSU. This is the same team that was down 21-0 to 5-7 Auburn early in that game. That's outplaying your average, if nothing else.
The Aggies have, in recent memory, wins over no. 1 Alabama, no. 4 Florida, and no. 6 LSU all at home. They don't really have any comparable road wins— in one way, that's an indictment on the Aggies, but in another, it's clear that their home field lends them a significant advantage. If you see a list like this that doesn't have Kyle on it, you can rest assured the person making it is clueless.
