Same damn thing happened to me two weeks ago in a hotel parking lot. Some other person had the exact same anonymous grey import sedan rental car that I did, parked 2 spaces away. I spent about 5 minutes trying to get into his car before I figured it out. No chirp on the remote unlock, just lights flashing.

re: Teams that have played in BCS/NY6 Bowls more recently than Texas A&MPosted on 8/8/19 at 12:22 pm to The_Ultimate_Warrior
Lots and lots of teams haven’t won championships in baseball or basketball or baseball. It’s not that brutal.

That said, I’m eager to see one!

The following is a 100% true conversation I had with my 6 year old son after Clemson and Deshaun Watson won the national championship:

“That game was amazing Daddy. Has A&M ever won the national championship?”

“Yes, som, but it’s been a long, long time, since before I was born.”

“Well, Daddy, we’ll keep rooting for them! And if we die, and they still haven’t won, we’ll root for them from heaven. But I guess in heaven we’ll have to root for everyone. Except the Longhorns and LSU. Longhorn and LSU fans won’t be in heaven.”

  3. RD, haven't you done some research on their spurious claims to some of the CMOH awards from people loosely affiliated with aggy?  It's not mentioned on aggypedia.

The most egregious one is the claim to Carswell.  He attended aggy for one year, transferred to and graduated from TCU, played varsity baseball and football for TCU (with Sammy Baugh) was a proud TCU alum, and I seem to recall never accepted any affiliation with aggy during his lifetime.  Yet they disgustingly trot him out there as if he's one of theirs.  Are any of their other claimed CMOH ties suspect?

  4. BM bashing Giants fans in defense of ODB.  https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/browns/2019/07/18/nfl-baker-mayfield-bashes-giants-fans-defense-odell-beckham-jr/1768128001/

Probably not the best long-term plan, as once he gets done with his rookie contract, he'll probably want to go to a big-market team in a place like, oh, I don't know, NEW YORK?!?

His little teenage drama mama act was ridiculous in high school, was ridiculous in college, and is even more ridiculous now.

I say howdy a lot.  It just comes out in certain situation without any thought on my part.   It's a bit tongue in cheek, said fast and sometimes sounds more like Heidi or Hah dee.  I will never concede that word as "theirs".

Talk about cultural appropriation.  Only in CS do everyday gestures take on mythical turdition status.  As an example, I (along with the rest of the Western world) give thumbs-up a lot, when one means to signal that things are good, or when one is looking for a ride when one's car has broken down.  Outside of the cult, thumbs-up has never, ever, ever meant any affiliation with the school in CS.

Neither the snake nor the uranium was illegal to have, however in Guthrie, you're not allowed to keep dangerous animals as pets. So because Jennings is in jail, police had it euthanized.

I’ve euthanized a lot of rattlesnakes in my days on our family ranch. Although a shotgun is fun and spectacular, the most foolproof and effective means is a shovel. Hold it down with a rake and use the shovel to give it a quick chop to the neck. Bury the head in a tin can so the venom doesn’t hit a dog if it’s dug up later.

The hire of Art Briles as the new football coach at Mount Vernon High School in East Texas has drawn attention from across the country.

MOUNT VERNON, Texas -- The parking lot of the Dairy Bar on Highway 37 was filled with three-quarter-ton pickups.

    * * * *

TL;DR:  Art Briles was a huge part of the problem at BU.  Local yokels couldn't resist hiring a coaching legend and want playoff success.  Local power family Ramsay includes state legislators, judges, etc., most of whom are BU grads, and one of whom was director of on-campus recruiting for Briles.  The Ramsays and the town in general don't give two rips about what harpy Brenda Tracy or big city newspapers say about them.

Interesting note.  Former KU and NBA star Greg Ostertag and wife are now residents of and major investors in Mount Vernon.  Although they don't like the attention of the Briles hire, they don't comment on the underlying issue of whether Briles is a lying POS that shouldn't be around kids.
