  1. This 111 degree death valley bullshit weather is probably a punishment challenge our simulation programmer programmed as a response to republican bullshit. I say we blood sacrifice Abbott and all republican politicians as a peace offering to the programmer.

I think this coming week may be the week. Seeing 105s to 108s being thrown down for DFW. 103s to 106s for Austin 98s to 101s for Houston and 101s to 104s for San Antonio.

How is that different from every week before this past Thursday?

    Depends on your perspective.

Are you white hat only? Then YouTube TV is fine.

Are you willing to go black hat? If so there's a world of damn near everything imaginable available for little money per month.

I don't believe Dak forced Cooper to be traded. He shouldn't need to. He just wasn't producing what hte Cowboys expected of him, and maybe he just never melded with Dak. Dak is the QB, so that's on the verteran receiver that's supposed to be so adaptable. I'm calling bullshit on Dak throwing his weight, or even wanted Cooper gone. I think it was just the writing on the wall. It wasn't working for whatever reason, they folded that hand to draw another.

Yeah I don't buy it either. Cooper might have called him the black kirk cousins, which is hilarious, but the truth is the Cowboys had set up Cooper's contract to be able to get out of it after last season. And Cooper was not dependable. He refused to get the vaccine, wasn't a team player, and looked like trash after he came back from covid. Fighting with the QB was probably just the icing on the cake.

The trade was handled poorly for sure but I wonder just how well Cooper is thought of it GM circles. He was traded by Oakland because they believed he wasn't a team player and wasn't mentally all in on winning, and after that great half a season immediately after the trade he looked the same here. I know PFF isn't ironclad greatness but it gives you an idea how people perceive things and they have him as a tier 4 receiver in the 20s in the "not elite" category.

It was interesting hearing Aranda yesterday talk about how he made his QB1 decision after the spring game and let the players know. Sark seemingly has an easier decision to make at QB, but he’s going to let them battle it out during fall camp. Different approaches

There's not a single person in that program, Card included, that doesn't know Ewers is QB1 game 1 barring injury.

-Sarkisian spoke about Hudson Card and mentioned he saw more development from the Lake Travis product. They went back and watched his tape from 2021 and saw a lot of really good things through the inconsistency. Sarkisian likes how Card handled this spring.

  8. RB room is a broke dick and a part time guy who gets injured.

WR room is an underachieving former first rounder, an injury prone guy, and jagoffs.

    QB is a flake

    Offensive line is falling apart

Best player on the team is a linebacker

    Coach is an idiot

Owner is both an idiot and a piece of shit and runs the team into the ground with his piece of shit family controlling everything

Running up on 30 years without sniffing even an NFC title game.

  9. We know the wind doesn't blow as much with increased heat. That wasn't factored in.

We've had millions moving into the state over the last 15 years and advancements in technology leading to a much bigger demand that an idiot could have seen coming. That wasn't addressed.

They ironically set up an old Solviet style socialist system with one single entity controlling everything that incentivizes production companies to keep production low to increase their profit margin... AND there's zero regulation to ensure they won't do that.

This is 100 percent a fault of the state politicians. They're too busy focusing on propaganda to keep getting re-elected and filling their pockets with kick backs to concern themselves with actually governing.

So don't come in here and blow smoke  up our asses trying to say this isn't a political issue

I know you guys on both ends have to politicize stuff, but the reality is that the wind isn't blowing and there are some unplanned outages because things have been running so hot for so long. It's all legitimate and, frankly, silly to view as a political thing. The grid needs the FF resources and will continue to for our lifetimes, and the renewables are also great too, but they're not a replacement for FF any time soon. Need it all to work together. Heading towards 90 days of overwhelming above average heat will predictably knock some of the FF gen offline.

Grid condition switched to yellow and Ercot’s graph appears to show demand exceeding supply.

If they want people to take this seriously they need to mandate all large venues/buildings not in use turn off all lighting and AC, and all commercial buildings must set their AC to 78 during the 2 to 9 window.

Just those two things alone if enforced would have us just fine. But no of course no solution that makes sense by eliminating waste from corporate America can ever get done.

why aren’t they pumping shit ton of $ to bring back the nuclear power plants back online? Hell, we would probably give them some nuclear weapons to use it as fuel if they asked.

yea I know the heat on gas but if you have power, electric heaters could work for a while

I can get you something south of San Diego for that.  About 100 miles south.

You joke but I'm currently developing a business that'll allow me to work from anywhere so the wife and I (and maybe the kid if she wants) can go down to Ensenada area. Low cost of living, nice beaches, and wife's family is from Mexico and she and I both speak Spanish.

As long as our families are here and not willing to move down there we're most likely going to be here, but down the line we really want to do it. Same 3 hour window time zones as the US, and with the advancements in internet and streaming I'll still be able to watch all the sports I do now and won't have to watch at 3 am like if we went overseas.

Shouldn't Texas be a GOP utopia by now?

It is. Most of the GOP/trumpers don't have AC (especially in their cars) so they're just making sure the rest of the state has to live like them.

  15. The spectrometry aspect is really intriguing. Over time if they can isolate some rocky worlds and catch them with elevated levels of stuff like oxygen and nitrogen it really points to high probabilities of life. Get lucky and catch signatures of fluorocarbon and we're staring at intelligence.
