I really appreciate Chas not taking Chandler’s bait. His quotes about Dusty being the manager, etc are all appropriately mild.
Assuming this team makes the playoffs, the lineup decisions will tell who’s really in charge.

That’s Nebraska football

What a catch

He went from having the best year in his career with the Rockies to having his worst with the Angels. Do you really want to add a salvage operation to the team with 35 games left? I don't think he's worth it, there's something wrong with him mentally or maybe he has a bad attitude since the trade. Either way, that is a phenomenal drop off over the course of a month, and the Astros don't really need him. If he were a gold glove first baseman I would say it's worth a shot, but we really don't need another outfielder.
This conversation went too far. It only started because I said he’s better than Julks. Because it’s an off day, I went looking at our 40 man roster and there are several folks who could easily be DFA’d in that group. I would not replace anyone on our 26 man roster today with Grichuk.

He was hitting .168 for the Angels since the trade, which is worse than Maldonado, so no thanks. There's a good reason he cleared waivers.
He has .774 OPS for the year combined with Colorado. Compared to most of the trash at the bottom of our 40 man - that looks like Lou Gehrig.

I’m always amazed at Vegas strip casino table minimums now.

Grichuk could still be released by the Angels and become a free agent. Would the Astros have any interest in signing him to a deal for injury insurance with Brantley or to replace Jake Meyers?
He would be insurance for Brantley but I wouldn’t want to give up on Meyers to do it. It doesn’t look like there’s room on the 26 man roster.

who’s faster ?That’s a great question - Who will play the Derek Fisher role in this years playoff run?

he was optioned this week
Hence the use of past tense

If Julks was still on the 26 man, we should have absolutely picked up Grichuk.

So who’s ready to offer Brantley 2 years at $40 million?

Diaz is now a once or twice a week player with Abreu and Brantley back. That’s just the way it is in the regular season.
if we can make the postseason I’d hope that the FO sets the lineups again and we can see Diaz catching every game but Framber, and playing DH or 1B when Framber pitches, but I’m not going to hold my breath. You’re assuming JV loses his personal catcher in the playoffs. I guess between the 2 of them it likely makes more sense to let Framber keep Linus’ security blanket as compared to JV.

Waiting for a mea culpa from those that were so certain that Brantley would never play again. Probably won’t happen, particularly from the two who were most vocal, as those two are very quick with the “I told you so” but extremely slow admitting when they are wrong.
It was one game and he didn’t even get a hit. Let’s not start patting ourselves on the back just yet.

Josh Miller just made the list. What a moron? Can’t measure it - it’s called Catcher ERA.

Everybody started going back through last year's game cam pics, and we found him on another guy's game cam about three-quarters of a mile away.
The spring rains sure were good to him. Looks 3 1/2 last year, gonna say 4 1/2 this year. We are supposed to shoot 5 1/2 and up. I'm just not sure we are going to get the same kind of spring rains in 2024 to make him any bigger. My vote is to let him get shot this year with no repercussions.

He made a nice leap this year. Great looking deer!

Is this the most “unclutch” Astros defense ever?

I will give Dusty a hearty Thank you when he retires at the end of this season.

It appears that Harold may have dropped 2 inches of rain on my place. Maybe something other than the Mesquites will be green.
