  1. @Jshep34 or whoever supposedly had insider info, can you confirm that other report that H-town blue won’t be the main color of the new jerseys and logo? That info should be spread amongst the mouth breathing NFL masses of Houston to raise hell in case they can make changes before they release a vomit disaster.

Pancakes trying to mooch on Texans the only way he know how, kissing up to super olds billionaires. He’s got nowhere else to go after his precious Titans and Seaskunk Adams are toast.

You would think they would have changed the spelling of the family name a little over the last hundred plus years.

We really need to send the browns a muffin basket ….

What the Texans have drafted (and will still receive) for Deshaun Watson :

    2024 1st
    2024 1st
    Xavier Hutchinson
    Kenyon Green
    Christian Harris
    Dameon Pierce
    Thomas Booker
    Will Anderson
    Tank Dell
    John Metchie III

I don’t believe all of these players came from Cleveland’s picks, we only have one 2024 1st rounder from Cleveland, and Will Anderson also cost us our own #33 in 2023 and our 2024 1st rounder.

The more (but not exactly) accurate sum of the trade is Houston gave up Watson and #33 in 2023 for Kenyon Green, Will Anderson, and John Metchie.  Shitty trade if not for shitbag Watson being injured or suspended the whole time.

  5. Draft order for playoff teams gets grouped by which weekend you get eliminated, then record among those losers. Beating Cleveland will improve the first round pick by two or three spots, if playoff advancement wasn’t enough motivation to punk the Browns.

Well besides the most recent Saturday night primetime game to end the season.

That wasn’t scheduled by the league. It was a flex based on playoff impact, not because the NFL wanted the Texans to get a prime time game when they could give a third one to the Packers or 9th one to the Cowboys. I think you know what I meant though, you surly asshole.

  7. Dammit

This article is a double kick in the nuts.
    1. Tank could physically be ready to play now that his fracture healed, except you only get 8 call-ups from IR and Houston has already used all 8.

    2. H-town blue won’t be the new primary color, and may only be featured in one or two of Four uniform schemes.

Yes.  There is lots of money involved in keeping the post-prohibition status-quo in place.  Three-tiered distribution system, limited on-site sales at breweries, vineyards, distilleries.  Attempts to limit chain liquor stores and online or mail-order sales.  One of my favorites is the TABC rule that you can't make alcohol seem to be "appealing" -- hence, it's a violation to advertise or promote beer as "cold beer."

/end thread, you can lay off the baptists temporarily on this issue.

Liquor stores did the maths and they sell as much or nearly as much 6 days a week as they would 7, and they cut their operating expenses by being closed on Sundays. Liquor stores support this blue law.

3 tier distribution is also a kick in the nuts. Direct sales from alcohol manufacturers (breweries, vineyards, distilleries) would likely mean more profit for them and lower prices to end consumers by eliminating the middle man/men, but the distributors lobby whacks down any attempt to change the status quo and cut off their gravy train.

Thought I'd share, found this cool article where they used team and player stats for Texas and Washington and had ChatGPT simulate the game. To save a click, Texas wins big 38-17 and they have Michigan beating Bama 27-20.

If you want to read how it thinks the game shakes out, here's the link to the ChatGPT simulation.

Really hoping for a Texas-Michigan final! Good luck with Washington

Sounds like Jonathan Brooks is going to have a kick ass Sugar Bowl!

It is sort of magical that our players and coaches all have scores to settle in this game. If we make it to the NC vs Bama, we'd have a score to settle from 2009 as well.

I highly doubt any current Texas player or coach is motivated by what happened in a game 14 years ago. Maybe Sam Ehlinger if he was still on the team.

But wow if a team won its conference and beat three other P5 conference champs in the same season!

  11. Houston fan says fuck the Browns for winning again and worsening the owed draft pick, but also LOL that they win 11+ games without the handjob masseuse QB they paid 3 first rounders and $45m/year for.

  12. Early in the Mayo Bowl, they threw up a graphic that Mack was one bowl win away from being top 5 and tying Bear Bryant. That’s the kind of shit Mack would point to and defend a narrative that he is some great X’s and O’s coach, just like his run of 10 win seasons. I laughed throughout the 4th quarter whenever the camera panned to him and his bitter and bewildered mug.

Just out of curiosity, what age did y'all stop with the Santa stuff?

We have a 2 and 4 year old, and they both still believe in Santa big time. The older one really believes because I always put on a Santa suit on Christmas Eve and pretend to be putting presents under the tree, and eating the cookies and milk. My wife goes and wakes him up quietly to watch this little show, which has solidified the legend for him. It's fun, but probably not going to work in a year or two. Wife isn't too keen on the idea of it, and seems to think it will be a problem for him, since kids tend to find out the truth around 6-7 years old.

We have 6 and 4 yr olds and hope(d) to keep it going a few more years, then just all keep pretending indefinitely without any conversation 😂

This December, a kid of non-Christian religion in my 6 yr old’s first grade class took it upon himself to lecture the entire class at lunch on the issue, and likely regurgitated what his mother told him due to use of words. My son came back and repeated it to me, that “Christian parents enjoy lying to their kids to make themselves feel better, and they coordinate with Amazon to deliver presents on Christmas Eve. So it’s the Amazon delivery truck that comes while they sleep, not Santa Claus.” I laughed at the latter part, but wanted to call the bitch up and tell her fuck herself for the first part of that. It’s not her right or responsibility to educate the first grade class, and it also fucks with every family that has younger siblings. I told my kid only believers get loot from Santa, so he better keep believing.

  14. I may be the only member, but I’ve been in the “Nico Collins kinda sucks” camp since his rookie preseason. This year he’s finally had some decent statistical games, but he’s made few “wow” plays, he struggles to get open, and does low IQ shit like running into the back of his blocker on that last WR screen. Houston needs another WR to pair with Tank next year.

Frank Broyles told LonghornBob when Vince Young was in high school "That kid is going to win someone a national title and I will make it worth your while if you can get him to Arkansas"

What I remember about the VY recruitment was that Mack didn't want him that much but Brewster kept insisting we take him until Mack finally relented.

Given how absolutely stupid Mack was at the QB position after Brewster left for the Chargers (see Luck, RG3, Manziel, etc) I tend to believe that to be the case.

Mack was a stupid piece of shit, especially when it came to QB recruitment. He FAFO with the likes of Ryan Perriloux and John Brantley and was left with his butter stained dick in his hand. He picked Tyrone Swoopes (who went like 1-10 as a senior at a 2A school) over JT Barrett. We got the Case McCoy, Connor Wood, Connor Brewer, etc. train (pleasant surprise was the brief glimmer of David Ash) when we could have got at least one or maybe all of RG3, Luck, and Manziel as you said. Pairing that with OL recruiting based on the “good kids from good families” dogma and you get the 2010’s decade of Texas football.

Jalen and Şengun were drafted in 2021, in the same draft Mobley was picked by Cleveland. You’re confusing Jalen Green with KPJ who was already on the team.

No I’m saying I wouldn’t have drafted Thompson in 2023 since Jalen has shitty shooting on lockdown already. Houston played the game of lotteries and lost. I would’ve traded the #4 pick or taken someone who wasn’t a G-league project.
