Yeah, it’s called weather. And it’s not really a factor for the bulk of the season as opposed to February.

Yeah the sole reason the Super Bowl has been in Florida, California, or New Orleans 80% of the time is weather.

Some locales are sexier than others.  Texas ain't as sexy.

Also the weather is absolutely a factor for the bulk of the season.  Just look at the average temperature and precipitation in Texas vs Southern California in the fall.  It's not even close.  It's more predictably comfortable (ie: not raining or snowing and not 90 degrees) in LA and San Diego.

the reality is there is a good chance SoFi will be delayed because of all of this

SDCCU is a pile of shit and barely maintained

and StubHub holds 5,000 less than SMUs stajium does which means it is really small

plus if I am not mistaken The Rose Bowl and LA Coliseum are both grass and could not hold up to multiple games per day and many in a week

Maximum attendance is kind of irrelevant here. I mean StubHub hosted NFL games in 2019 for Gods sake

Do you think there's a slight chance the NFL might spring for artificial turf for 2020 if it means their season gets to happen?

I've been to TX/OU at the Cotton Bowl. I love TX/OU at the Cotton Bowl. Are you arguing that the Cotton Bowl is in better shape than SDCCU?

You'd still have to watch the games on tv bucko..

As someone who lives in DFW, dont really care if this thing goes to Socal or elsewhere. Too many transplants as it is, and placing all NFL teams here will inevitably mean many players or coaches will actually buy houses to live in...driving up costs for those of us who who are already here, and not just temporarily. The real danger is the constant air travel from city to city, not where they live. (Hotels for all players/staff wouldnt help much)

Imagine giving every player in the NFL the choice between six months in the Metroplex or in LA/San Diego.

There's a reason that SoCal has hosted 11 Superbowls and DFW has hosted 1

Bro visiting, so picked up OF 1910,  WT rare breed and some sipping tequila to go with Barrilto rum we used to drink in our more adventurous days. I’d post a pic but couldn’t figure it out while on the train.

but posting cause I’ve seen y’all mention 1792 here and there. The 1910 was the cheapest I found in the city so wondering what’s a reasonable $$ for 1792. For instance, found Weller SR at this place for $45 when I’ve seen it $100+ everywhere else in the city. They had 1792 in small batch, BiB, and single barrel all in the upper $30s-40s. That sound reasonable?

Those prices are very reasonable. Straight MSRP no markup

Fondly?  No, that song was terrible.  Nice gesture by the kids, though.

Just buy the rights and rewrite the lyrics to the Houston Oilers fight song.  It became iconic to Houston (never mind that we stole it from the Dolphins, their loss) and beloved.  The best fight song in pro sports.  Houston Astros = same # of syllables as Houston Oilers, it works.

I loved the Oilers and that song, but I don't want to associate the Stros with the Oilers in any way

There are 9 countries where more Americans died visiting (not of natural causes) then DR, one is Canada and Mexico leads by far..  But when the media runs with a story and everyone ever ill or attacked in that country comes out to tell their story, you get this.

But all of the deaths in the DR are considered natural causes as of now, right? Apples to oranges

The one and only time I've taken Total WIne's advice and not regretted it, Jefferson's Reserve.

That's it. All their other suggestions have been hot garbage. I know they have to push certain stuff, it's part of their job. To their credit, Total usually offers samples of their "featured" bottle. An off the beaten path Total can be a gold mine of really good drinkers.

If you trust a Spec's recommendation, please punch yourself in the face. "Yeah it has some peach extract in it, but it's really good".

Johnny Drum is not a TW store pick. The bourbon guy had no incentive to push that other than he likes it / thought Quagmire would like it.

    And he was right

Interesting thing to note about coffee, and the dark roasted crap people drink because they think it's "strong":  the more it's roasted, the weaker it gets. Light or medium roast coffee gives you much more kick than the dark roast, and it doesn't single you out as a dumbass hipster.

Per bean this is true, but dark roasted beans have less mass so there are more of them used when brewing. The caffeine count is basically equal

I too think Denzel's training day was undeserved.

    A Beautiful Mind, btw.

And I don't get the hate on his Gladiator performance. That role was a massive yoke to carry.

Maybe Joaquin being better clouds it a bit but it's a tough ask to out do one of the 5 greatest living actors. Although tantric superman wasnt convinced by Phoenix's performance and thought it was too derivative of the scrawled papyrus historical notes of Commodus.

    Joaquin Phoenix? Lol

    DDL

    Michael Caine

    Tom Hanks

    Gary Oldman

    Pacino

    DeNiro

    Denzel

    Come on

    Tons of true crime shit.

Carlos Marcello and the New Orleans branch of the Sicilian mafia. Crazy shit, even if they weren't involved with killing Kennedy. Read about his "extradition"

Ken McElroy - look him up

That dude who sold rich people faked bottles of super old wine, including wine allegedly belonging to Thomas Jefferson (one of the Koch brothers even got ripped off which makes me happy)

That dude who stole all the moon rocks from NASA

Basically, everyone Clarence Darrow ever represented
