  1. He's going to follow it up with a water has contributed to wetness speech. Such bold leadership. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/biden-in-iowa-speech-plans-to-say-trump-has-fanned-the-flames-of-white-supremacy/2019/08/07/dce7c17c-b903-11e9-b3b4-2bb69e8c4e39_story.html
  2. Eh, maybe he would be criticized for not going but it's still the right thing to do. If Obama were in a similar situation where there were sensitivities around his visit, he would stay away and express sympathies in other ways. Trump refused to even make time for the US representative from El Paso.
  3. Agree. It's not worth it. Can have special permits for 30-50 feral hog situations. I think public opinion is starting to shift on this. Will be helpful to have a Dem with the bully pulpit. Meanwhile, this tweet is blowing up:
  4. It's absolutely insane Trump is going to El Paso. His visit is cruel rubbing salt in the wounds of those reeling in pain and with their world turned upside down. It's despicable. Utterly. Nothing is beneath this guy.
  5. How states go blue? Slowly and then all at once?
  6. The pictures are no longer working. We're totally fucked. "Aides have brought Trump charts to convince him that the currency charge is untrue, but the president remains firm in his beliefs, the official said." https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/china-lets-currency-plunge-below-7-a-decade-low-after-trump-adds-new-tariffs/2019/08/05/c7415db6-b754-11e9-8e83-4e6687e99814_story.html
  7. He repeatedly calls it a "glitch" in the algorithm. That's the algorithm working.
  8. Browsing the headlines we may be on the verge of the complete collapse into chaos under Trump: -el Paso/Dayton and aftermath - stock markets crashing on escalation of US China trade war -inverted yield curve signaling recession imminent -Kashmir about to blow up. Who knew governing could be so hard? I just hope there are no nukes.
  9. Alyssa Milano showing some love and fundraising support with her 3 million followers.
  10. He's saying that if Warren is appealing to people like that, then she can reach a broad electorate. Bit dark imo. Seeing Beto out there speaking truth the last 24 hours makes me want a Warren-Beto ticket again. The perfect moral response to Trump.
  11. "Well, Jesus Christ, of course he's racist." Excellent.
  12. And he'll be back at it in a week or two. Gun controlled stalled again. Rinse, repeat.
  13. Hate this is the context but glad to see Beto finding his voice again.
  14. Would love to see this make him realize his heart is in Texas and send Cornyn packing.
  15. Take action today. Talk to people. Write. Call your reps. Plan to organize. This continues until enough decent people speak up.
  16. "act of cowardice" Again, every person who remains in the republican party is responsible for this.
  17. Just imagine how bad it would be witthout all those guns protecting everyone. Fucking morons. Criminals every last one of them.
  18. Awful to check this thread and have multiple shootings to sort through. Guns are the problem. Common sense regulation. End the culture that celebrates them. This is the GOP's fault.
  19. I think her campaign is nearing a critical mass where you will see some rapid growth, shifting of support towards her. Once that happens, and she becomes a legit frontrunner, the attacks and testing will come. Her greatest contrast with Trump is her integrity--politically and morally--and I think that overpowers her few weaknesses. She is a reluctant politician which is incredible in this age of ego.
  20. Biden fell apart in the closing. Talking about 8 more years of Trump at stake and can't remember to say "text" instead of "go to." That will, sadly, be the story if tonight. He done.
  21. I love the messaging here. Recognizes there's legetimacy to the economic angst Trump tapped into.
  22. Damn. Came here to post this. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Party of Lincoln.
  23. Yep. Agree. And the rampant corruption in this administration. I'm guessing this will be the "pivot" to the general for whoever the nominee is bit it doesn't hurt to focus on it now. You can't achieve any of their policy goals under the current system...the majorities aren't there and money, including lobbying, is too influential.
  24. I posted something along these lines a few days ago. In addition to the not going to prison incentive, he got away with a ton of shit the first time. Part of me is hopeful for the future, that a president Warren wins and starts implementing large-scale structural changes to fix our fucked up political system. Another part of me knows he's going to outright steal the election.
  25. How the fuck is this in any way defensible? How do you even begin to defend it?
