  1. /Cruz campaign/ Beto has to have Hollywood director use Hollywood actors to attack Ted cause no real Texan would. /Cruz/ Love it though.
  2. Awesome. wish there was a TV version.
  3. Since they adjust for age tge problem would be if those that don't answer are more likely to vote Dem/Beto. Could be the case? IDK.
  4. Or too dumb to not answer and let it go to voicemail. Tennessee is showing a huge lead for Blackburn, which would also be an outlier.
  5. Any poll nerds know how they deal with people who won't answer a number they don't recognize? I'd imagine some spam blockers would pickup polling. Seems like this would skew the data significantly. Seems like olds would be more likely to answer everything. Eve Not saying polls are wrong but just wondering.
  6. Heres the link for nyt live polling
  7. And they wonder why they can't get laid.
  8. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/survey-of-battleground-house-districts-shows-democrats-with-narrow-edge/2018/10/07/f45e13f2-c812-11e8-b1ed-1d2d65b86d0c_story.html New Washing Post poll of Battleground districts. Shows Dem with a narrow edge in the ones won by Trump, solid on those won by Clinton. "The survey of 2,672 likely voters by The Post and the Schar School at George Mason University shows that likely voters in these districts favor Democrats by a slight margin: 50 percent prefer the Democratic nominee and 46 percent prefer the Republican. By way of comparison, in 2016 these same districts favored Republican candidates over Democratic ones by 15 percentage points, 56 percent to 41 percent." That's a 19 pt swing to Democrats. Women driving a lot of it. About half of this was taken after the Ford/Kavanaugh testimony. Make of it what you will.
  9. Can we replace the little crying kitty cartoon with a cartoon version of the Kyler ewok mashup?
  10. He's done some joint fundraising be with End Citizens United too. That might be some of it. There's a principled basis for what he's taken and what he hasn't. It's a world's difference from most politicians and will allow him to focus more on his constituents and not special interest PACs who he has to pay back. Just "No PACs except for this one that is focused on ending PACs" doesn't have as good of a ring to it. I think everyone knows what he means by PACs.
  11. Oh No. Now we dun it. Iconoclast is going to vote Republican! And for Cruz! How could we have driven him this far. If the Dems can't count on reasonable minded people like Iconoclast, how do they ever expect to win! Gimme a break.
  12. Yeah, my hope too. We'll see. I'd also like to see more analysis on how effective Beto can be at expanding the voting base. All these registration and GOTV efforts have to be good for something right?
  13. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/senate-races-gop-up-in-texas-tennessee-dems-up-in-arizona-new-jersey-cbs-news-poll/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7b&linkId=57839880 New CBS/YouGov poll has Cruz up 50-44. Conducted over Oct 2-5. Online poll of registered voters. Havent duf into the numbers. Still close. Would like to see what things look like in a week.
  14. Visiting family in a gated community in Lakeway and have seen more Beto signs than Cruz. Probably every house without a sign is voting for Cruz but still encouraging. Sad to see a bunch of Beto signs graffitied on 2222 and 620.
  15. Yeah, limit the campaign period like so many democracies do. It's insane how much of our politicians time is spent fundraising and campaigning. It's no wonder they can't get shit done.
  16. I agree but in the age of Super PACs and dark money the national small dollar funding is a necessary evil. We need to severely limit money in politics through constitutional amendments. Also, take some serious steps to address bots and foreign influence on the internet. It requires some limits on speech but we're elevating the speech or some at the expense of others.
  17. I really like Beto's government accountability positions: term limits, get the money out of campaigns, end gerrymandering. I think if you did this three reforms it would make our government much more functional. I'd like to see all Dems/the party support those kind of structural reforms. It seems like those could bring in broader support. Would also like to see new push for the ERA and a gay rights amendment. Or expand the ERA to include LGBT. Settle that issue. As it is, I don't think SCOTUS will overturn Obergefell but any further expansion or lgby equality is going to be denied. Plus shit like masterpiece cakeshop.
  18. I'm not sure I buy the fired up the GOP base argument yet. There was the one poll. It seems more like theyre trying to build up that narrative in hopes that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecu.
  19. The fact that we're talking about conservative/liberal judges as if it's the same as political conservative/liberal is all you need to know about what this process has done to the Supreme Court.
  20. I named my second son after Sam. Glad I don't have to regret it. Hook em!
