  1. US beats Burkina Faso 2-1 in men’s WC U17. Second consecutive game where the opponent looks way more dangerous than the US.

Plays France next to finish bracket play. France leading Korea 1-0 at the half. If france wins or ties then US makes it to elimination round no matter US-France result.

US games have been on fs1 and others on fs2. With yttv just hit the button to record the tournament and then watch at your leisure.

  2. And the cool but philandering dad in Freaks and Greeks. Neal biking alone until he found the house where the garage door beeper worked. Powerful moment and close to home. After my brother told me that a kid was bragging at school about our separated dad going to the movies with his mom.  I ran down to his apartment to confront him and he drove by with the lady and her two boys in the car.  He stopped and whatever he said was unheard as the two boys made faces in the car.   Parenting was over then and from then on it was assess and verify.  The two future stepbrothers in separate occurrences ended up murdered and in federal pen. My dad and his new wife stayed married for 43 years till death did them part.

  3. USA beat Japan 4-1 in u23 friendly. Full game is on yt. Just about to watch a little during lunch.

This last episode just kind of ended , which I guess is more like life. Paul and Ally having to take care of aging parents, kids, grandchild, etc. just muddling thru like the rest of us.

    Spoiler

They go from unilateral decisions to doing uncomfortable but necessary things together.

The guys at r/ACMilan aren't pleased and think it should have been Chuk starting in place of Puli in the derby then Puli in the CL game since Puli had just returned from across the pond.

Something I've read about before is the travel fatigue that western hemisphere players playing in Europe deal with during international breaks. Some handle it better than others but it's a thing.

Maybe Pulisic should try the pizza and ranch sauce as Weston didn’t have any trouble in his game.

  6. Easy Riders and Raging Bulls. Documentary about the director movement of late 60s and 70s featuring Coppola, Scorsese, Lucas, Spielberg, Bogdanovic, Hopper, Ashby and others.  My favorite movie decade was the 70s but the documentary was just ok and not really insightful. Maybe the book was better.

  7. Il Postino. The main actor was dying from cancer as the film was being made. It’s been done many times, but the scene at the end when Pablo Neruda (Phillips Noiret) is on the beach and stares into the camera.

Shoplifters - when the daughter is returned to her parents and the contrast between her created family and real family is heartbreaking.
