Worked at a restaurant that had live music playing country music tue-sat back in the early 80s. I was into punk/new wave with a solid grounding in classic rock and Motown Nothing better than closing time on slow nights when the musicians played for themselves.
I hadn’t heard many of the songs before and these two were gut punches that I had to later track down.
-
Roberta Flack - Killing Me Softly With His Song.
Joe Tex - You’re Right Ray Charles
Hayseed Dixie - I’m keeping your poop in a jar.
Dave Allen- Haley’s Comet
Tom Tom Club - Genius of Love
Kevin Gordon - Colfax

Local Hero is on tomorrow at 7 pm. Knox Oyel and Gaaas. I’m a firm believer that it will hold up.

This always makes me laugh. If any of you have daughters, sisters, or mothers who attended Catholic School it will make them laugh.
I’d rather see Catholic High School Girls in Trouble.

Hard to believe Boorman followed up Deliverance with it (though he then went on to do The Exorcist II so maybe Deliverance was the outlier?)
There are several good Boorman films. Hope and Glory, The General, Point Blank and Tailor of Panama. and of course, Excalibur.
This is a pretty good article on him.

The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover.
Mulholland DriveTampopo
I’d say a John Waters movie, but I don’t care for any of them.
Trainspotting is my favorite of fucked up films.

We all thought “this guy fucks” during March Madness. Now he’s in an environment where everybody fucks and he’s missing a testicle. C’mon Donewald. It’s time to show some heuevos.
-
What’s the update on Donewald? He’s a key guy to have for coaching and recruiting. Especially foreign players.
-
Hunter was huge on the defeensive end. He harassed and pressured their point guard all game long.

Y’all should meet in KC for a one on one game.
-
The case for Terry is to pay the assistants on staff where they won’t leave and pay a new one who can recruit and be the defensive coordinator. Then you NIL the shit out of transfers.
id rather have a home run hire but that’s the way to go if you keep Terry.

No one should give a fuck about the B12 tournament. Beard didn’t. It’s all about the big one.
OSU, OU, TT, WV should care as it’s there chance to get in. ISU should only care for a couple of games to rebuild themselves.
Beat KU and then take what the B12 tourney gives you.

It just seems simpler for some to not open up a thread on the B12 and read the content.
This topic will die in a year or two and then one can not open the ncaa basketball thread.
-
TCU with Miles is not a bottom four team. If he’s back and in form then I can see Kansas and Texas losing on the road against them.
-
Chuck Berry. Haven’t seen him mentioned but from baby diapers to adult diapers his songs make people move.
-
Billy Joe Shaver is on my list of contenders.
