  1. There is only 1 football to go around and adding even just one receiver from the portal likely meant that one of Mosley/Livingstone/Wingo would squeezed out of playing time/targets, and that’s before you even factor in dudes like Lockett/McCutcheon/Bishop/TEs/RBs in the passing game.
  2. This is funny to read when you remember 3 months ago how many people said Sark ruined Ewers and Arch. Now our QB is balling out and bailing out his incompetent head coach!
  3. I also think a big part of coaching receivers at this level is managing egos. It’s a diva position. Coming from the NFL he brought more of a pro mindset and I think that has been beneficial.
  4. Awful is probably a little strong. Say what we want about Wingo but he had 800+ yards in basically 10.5 games. He got better from last year. We would have had 3 other receivers go for 500+ if Mosley was healthy all year. And this is with a QB who was wildly inconsistent the first 6-7 games. AD, Worthy, Whittington and Mitchell easily had their best years under him too in 2023/2024.
  5. I would hope most of those conversations have already happened before the prestigious Citrus Bowl.
  6. I honestly thought it was more likely he would jump back to the NFL. Players seem to like him.
  7. Chris Jackson re-signed to a 2-year deal, per OB. Said Florida and Ohio State both inquired about him this cycle.
  8. Agreed. I try not to be the ‘overreact to one game’ guy but I would feel semi comfortable with 1 badass RB from the portal + Cooper + Clark if it meant we could use the funds elsewhere. I don’t know how you don’t portal if you are Simon after how this bowl season/practices played out (getting passed by Terry). I’m sure Clark is going to have coaches crawling in his DM’s too the next week.
  9. IT said they are hearing the flu bug might be going around the team
  10. FCB portal/NFL update: Goosby: "There are some big arrows pointing to Goosby returning to Texas next season, but Goosby is getting a lot of positive feedback about where he could be selected if he entered the 2026 NFL Draft." Gave it a 55% chance of him returning. Endries: "Endries went to New York City for the Heisman Trophy presentation as an invited guest of Heisman winner Mendoza, and sources said the 6-foot-4, 240-pound Endries indicated then that he was done with college football and would be entering the NFL Draft.". Gave it an under 50% chance he returns. Kanu: "There are arrows pointing toward a return in 2026." Gave it a 55% chance he returns. Robertson: "sources close to the situation believe Robertson will return in 2026" DL Emmanuel Oyebadejo (Jacksonville State) is a name to know in the portal. He shares an agent with Brandon Harris. "There are two Power Four receivers who have yet to announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal who could surface as options for Texas with the Longhorns likely only taking one. The most appealing of those two receivers, in my opinion, had a nice game against Texas in the 2024 season." (Sounds like TJ Moore) "The Longhorns have at least two high-priority players on the current roster (not named Arch Manning or Colin Simmons) they really, really want to keep who are being pursued like crazy by other programs. The market cuts both ways." "I was told by a couple of agents of players on the Texas roster when a high school recruit who gets a six-figure commitment from the Longhorns and then doesn't play significant snaps, those players will receive a reduced offer the following season. Experienced agents, such as those certified to represent NFL players, understand that and explain it to their clients. But as we heard from Sarkisian on Tuesday, Texas isn't always dealing with experienced agents."
  11. Good timing. I was talking baseball over the holidays and getting excited for the season. I really don’t think there are that many unknowns at this point. Starting 9 seems pretty straightforward to me: C- Tinney 1B- Borba 2B- Mendoza SS- Rodriguez 3B- Becerra RF- Robbins CF- Williams LF- Pack/Larson (Larson was injured most of the fall so he’ll need to hit the ground running in January) DH- Livingston Rotation will most likely be some form of Volantis, Harrison, Flores and Leffew. Ruger and Grubbs will be the Swiss Army knives and Burns the likely closer. This has to be the deepest pitching staff I can remember in a really, really long time. Kade Bing was our Tuesday starter last year and I’m wondering what type of role he is even going to have this year.
  12. I don’t think they have an issue paying what Tre Wisner was asking for. They just weren’t going to pay it to Tre Wisner.
  13. Wingo outperformed the #1 receivers at Georgia, Tech, Ole Miss and Bama this year.
  14. We are not getting two RB1’s to play with each other + Cooper and I’m not even sure we should want to pay for that.
