Probably. 2 of those years involved 2 pregnancies, recoveries, bed rest and flat out not having sex for 9 months to avoid bed rest

Trying to wrap my head around “not having sex to avoid bed rest.”

I don't think Ive ever had the 1870 or 1897.  I have gone through more bottles of the 10 and 20 than I care to admit though.

    You have been missing out.

Is there a certain time of year where stuff is more likely to be legit on sale?

Any holiday. Memorial Day, 4th Of July, and Labor Day are the big 3 and best time to start shopping

But you can always shop around President’s Day, Tax Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.

  4. In Nacogdoches today, popped into a few stores. Continental Liquors is a nice quaint store with some great brown juice and some perfectly acceptable prices.

Including Eagle Rare, since so many seem to be on the hunt lately

Also saw quite a bit of Angels Envy, Elijah Craig, Old Forester, and others

Just a tip for those in the area.

Branson Bragg chose Stanford over the good guys. With that said I couldnt ever imagine growing up in Crandall, Tx and going to Stanford, pretty remarkable.

    Remarkable, huh?

  6. Ate at City Limits in Crandall again today. Can’t recommend this place enough. Clean, comfy, friendly, and all things delicious. Husband and wife team are there and kicking ass Wed-Sun.

Killed a rack of ribs while wife had the brisket. And then the amazing pecan pie.

    No pics.  Sorry.

I decided to treat myself to a great meal yesterday. So, I walked into a five star hotel restaurant. After going through the menu, I ordered some food. After about 20 minutes, a group of men and women walked in and ordered theirs. To my dismay, these folks got served first. I watched as they began to eat and laugh heartily. I even overheard one of them bragging about how he is connected to everyone in the hotel, and I felt mocked.

I decided to leave. Unable to take it anymore, I called the waiter. He calmly told me, “Yours is a special order being prepared by the chief chef himself. Their orders were prepared hurriedly by students on attachment because the top chefs are busy with yours. That is why they were served first. Please have some juice as you wait.” I calmed down and waited patiently.

Shortly after, my food was served by six waiters. Unknown to me, the owner of the hotel (who happened to be an old long lost friend of mine) saw me when I entered and decided to surprise me. She changed my simple meal to a five-star meal. The party at the other table were shocked. They could not stop staring. Suddenly, they were the ones murmuring, asking why they did not get the kind of meal and service.

Such is life! Some people are ahead of you and are eating now, laughing at you and talking about how they are better, wiser, and smarter than you, how they are blessed, well connected, have money, and are enjoying life. You are waiting tirelessly wondering why its taking so long to breakthrough. You endure mockery and humiliation. Maybe you have contemplated suicide, gone through depression, or suffered severe mental anxiety. Don't worry! The owner of the world has seen you and doesn't want you to be served a simple meal like those making a mockery of you.

You are waiting long because yours is a special meal. It takes time to prepare. And, only chief chefs prepare them.
Relax and wait for your meal. When it comes, that laughing party will be silenced for good.

Stay blessed! Enjoy your day! This is my word of encouragement to you today.

    #BreakThrough #LivingMyBestLife

Copy and paste to encourage someone to patiently wait for what God prepares special just for us.

Jesus...how do some of these fuckers get out of bed in the morning...?

Count me in. I've got 10 at home.

Had a 30-foot Crepe Myrtle in my front yard in Corpus Christi. Beautiful thing. Never seen anything like it. Loved it, even though it rained pink hell all over my truck twice a year.

Drove by that house a month after I sold it. Gone. Stupid bastards.

As a San Antonio native, I grew up during the glory years of Mi Tierra. Thirty years ago, you would be hard pressed to find better enchilada’s anywhere. Several years ago, we were in SA to visit and stopped by for old times sake. It was awful. It was every bit as bad as Casa Rio on the Riverwalk. It was a shame.

My own personal fave is (and always will be) Jacala.

  10. It was TripAdvisor in 2015. To be fair, their BBQ was pretty damn good, but yeah...pretty random, huh?

The success that resulted from that ranking is what drove the original family to sell because it became more than they could (or wanted) to handle.

One damn good barely known BBQ joint, shot to hell. Pho Kingdom.....

  11. We had Pho Kingdom in Fort Myers.

The name was appropriate, because a Vietnamese couple bought out the #4 ranked BBQ joint in the country and spent 18 months gradually Vietnamizing it.

When the Reuben’s Smokehouse sign came down, and Pho Kingdom went up, I laughed my ass off.

    Lasted 3 months.

    Fucking dumb, indeed...

Open, but out of what HEB"s 'Find it' website claimed that particular store had.  Again.  Repeatedly.  "Oh, we haven't had that since Christmas."

Let's be honest, HEB has slipped into overrated status.  Too many stores with a lousy selection.  Have to watch expiration dates like a hawk, I seem to find a lot more out of date items on the shelf than at Krogers and Randalls.  Unlike those two, they rarely mark stuff down when it nears expiration, so often have to reach back into their packaged veggies that should be good for a week or more because they've put stuff with only a day left in front.  Their whole chickens often don't have much flavor because some stores seem to skimp on flavoring.  Can't ever seem to find a store with Adobado chips these days.  Always out of the stuff the coupon says you get free if you buy X.  Yada yada yada, bitch bitch bitch....

Can’t believe your store is really that bad. You wanna see a fucked up store?  Come to Lufkin.

    this.

my buddies went in a million different directions.

One is developing new magnetic imagery for the military. He had low self esteem in HS because he’s not very book smart- he was more the shop/auto type of student-so feels he needs to explain how intellegent and important he is now. Dude has literally invented some cool shit, but I’m more of a portal to HS times for him to feel better about how shitty his teens were.

One became a professional race car driver. Now he is a kept man in Atlanta. It’s as much fun talking to him as you’d expect, 10 good stories mixed in with 1000 boring stories. He sent me a Christmas card I haven’t opened yet.

one ODed. No Christmas card there.

one is a marine biologist and is in Thailand doing research. He was my best friend but he’s gone native, married a Thai girl and plans to live there the rest of his life. Developed a nice animosity and light hatered for the US he likes to talk about all the time, so our communication is mostly with emojis.

One actually lives down the street from me. Like, walking distance. I happened to see his address and that he’s married to the same dumb chick he was with when he was 15. He hit me up thru linked in saying how I was one of his best friends, was there for him, was a pivotal personality in his life and we need to get together, yada yada.

I wrote him back saying hi and we should get a drink sometime. That was 2 yrs ago.

    That is some sad shit...

  14. Been quite a while for me, but Rathskellar was always a breakfast destination for me. Corner of Lincoln & Main in the basement under the old hospital (currently Der Kuchen Laden store).  Love the Smoked Duck Hash.

Lincoln Street always a cozy place to chill and set a relaxed, romantic vibe.

    Auslander for beers and socializing.
