My sister in law just got back from Vegas and it’s sounds like it sucks. No one is there, you have to wear your mask between bites at the restaurant. They went to the Promenade, no one there, not much open and still told to wear their masks outdoors. She also said if they don’t like your mask they’ll make you wear one of theirs.
I don’t think they were begging him to stay. I think his manwhoring wore out his welcome. I also think he makes more money now than at Alice. But I really don’t know.
He was head coach in Alice prior to Miller. I think he pissed off too many people by trying to fuck every mom town. He was having an affair with one of the (married) Assistant principals at Miller. They had to ban her from the gym were his office was because she was constantly hanging around there and then made a scene at a banquet were I guess the coach brought a different date.
I wasn’t old enough to remember in the late 70’s, but my impression is that it wasn’t some new fangled dish. I do remember always hearing the same thing anytime someone bought or cooked then about how the meat used to be fuck-all cheap and now it’a not.
They were pretty ubiquitous in the early 80’s if my childhood memories serve me correctly. But I grew up in South Texas. Lionel Garza at the muy grande in Freer used to make some damn good ones. The kind that Mexicans cook down here by smoking over mesquite in a pit. I recall that being my first culinary love. Later in my teens I moved to Colorado and missed them sorely. I remember at some festival in the rinky dink town I lived this guy was selling fajitas. I was so excited...Until he lifted the lid on his electric skillet and there was this insipid, steamed in it own juices gray meat with thick cut green bell peppers. He slapped it on who knows what kind of terrible, store bought tortillas. It might still be my biggest disappointment in a meal.
Never Forget! We endured a lot.
I really feel bad for my (just turning) 21 y.o. son who is a Junior at UT. He got into watching the longhorn around the age of 8. So about 2008 season. He’s endured the worst 10(11) years of Texas football probably ever preceded by a couple of good/great but disappointing seasons. He’s still hopeful, he’s still a fan. I think he reads this thread so... Hi Son! Some things said on surly aren’t meant for others (mom) to see.
It would be poetic justice if Sark pulling all these coaches was the beginning of the end considering Baja’s dynasty began with Colt’s dead arm. (Also leading to the end of the neo-golden era of Texas football and Mack)
(Not counting on it)
Everything appears to be open, just limited entry. Breckinridge bars and restaurants are really strict with the mask shit and all the rituals. Vail didn’t care as much. Keystone is sort of in the middle....by my limited observations
