Anyone have any opinions on staying at Park City base vs The Canyons ? Going for spring break with 2 kids, if that matters
we have been to Canyons last 2 spring breaks. We stayed right at the base of Canyons right next to the orange bubble lift in that big hotel/condo place. From our research, it was nicer than equiv $$ on the PC side, at least for the 3-4 bedroom condos with big kitchens/livng rooms. you can either 'ski' to PC (mostly riding lifts, then a gondola that connects PC and Canyons) or take the bus. Taking the bus back right at lift closing time can be a beating, but otherwise it's not too bad. You can bus into PC proper for dining/shopping fairly easily. We never rent a car but just uber from the airport to the mountain.
the base at PC has an ice rink and more shopping places for sure.

yep, it is becoming harder and harder to find CEX (as a US cit) that do not require KYC. I have not had issues with CB, but i doxxed myself to them a long time ago and bank transfers are usually pretty fast. I still get nervous when transferring crypto from a 'fly-by-night' CEX back into CB though. if you send something on the wrong chain it could be lost.
I have been using Phemex and just saw some people get their withdrawal function frozen as they may be forcing KYC. I really don't care as i am not trying to cheat uncle Sam, but the fewer places that know of my info the better. Coinbase does not offer some of the coins i am trading in, so have to find other alternatives. CB also does not have the greatest fee structure.

I was on the tarmac at John Wayne a few months ago. Perfect weather here but NYC was not cooperating. Waited an hour or so and finally we get the green light. Engine starts and about twenty seconds later a "check engine" light comes on. Waited another hour before they pushed the flight till the next morning. Next morning, not enough snacks on the plane so there was a delay until a group of us said "fuck the snacks get us to NYC." Free drinks for everyone at least.
yep, our flight to Bham for the UT/AL game was scrapped due to mech issue. we get another plane ~1.5 hours later and AA just said fuck it and told everyone we were taking off without drinks/food or it would be another hour delay.

reminds me of my dad's (well grandad's) old JD. towards the end we had to pull start it with the truck every time with my dad bitching my 12yo old ass out for taking off too fast. air up the tires for every run. hydraulics were actually decent and only leaked a bit. eventually some rainwater got in the engine block and froze and that's all she wrote. i want to say it was built in the 50s and lasted 35 years or so.
quick web search and this photo looks the most like what i remember
The front wheels were definitely closer together than a lot of the other models and you had use the individual rear tire brake to turn. Although it could have been a 4010 which was built in the early 60s.
was out at the place a few weeks back and snapped a pic

so biggest difference in the playoff game vs last half of reg season was getting Lamb the ball. McCarthy seemed to have figured something out to get CD the ball even when other teams knew that was the obvious plan in the regular season. 5 games in a row of over 100 yards and a TD or whatever the stat was. did the Packers just corch up a better scheme to shut down Lamb and Dallas had no answers? did the last 8 coaches Dallas faced prior the Packers just not care about stopping Lamb? I get that playoffs are a whole different deal, but damn.

Whichever one takes over will not meddle on the football side as much as Jerry does.insert Steven and Charlotte heads
replace 'those people' with Jerry. rinse and repeat

Both sides of the ball were outcorched. Fans in the stands were stunned and could not get into the game from the beginning. Most had brought out the anointing oil and put Dallas in a rematch with SF in the NFC title game. Again, something HC should be taking care of.
Would McCarthy get hired as a HC if he were let go?

Looked out yesterday and didn't see flow. Sure enough, some valve was stuck (which according to my pool guy shouldn't have stopped the flow) but there was obviously something frozen somewhere even though equipment still trying to run. Before draining equipment and salvage what I could, I turned pump off, poured a big ass bucket of hot water into the pump and ran it. Did that a couple of times and second time did the trick. My auto freeze switches from pool to spa in 30 min intervals but ended up just locking it in pool mode and seems to be doing ok 24 hours later. Still don't know WTF happened. Weird.
the 30 minute interval is not enough frequency to prevent ice from forming in my experience. my system got effed in the last big freeze despite having power the entire time. it was set to run on and off at 30 minute intervals. I have a new controller this time around it just runs 24/7 when the target temp is hit. no issues so far this year. paying a little more in electricity is worth way more than $5K+ repair.

there is nothing more crypto twitter than getting your account hacked to defraud others out of their crypto. the SEC is soooo getting on board with this move.

but how else can i showcase the Dunning-Kruger effect to its full glory?
some of the coins i have traded would/will never come back so long term holding is not an option. set stop loss and take profit on the way up. I am not even talking about memecoins which can be fun but everyone knows they will approach zero at some point.
-
yeah, i have different strategy (being generous here with that term) and probably more working altcoins than you just hodling BTC. if a bullrun is happening, i don't think whales will just shoot it off from the ETF. but rather looking to take profit on the announcement and buy back in to the market on the dip.
-
anyone going to sell on the news?
whales have not used all the billion from xmas and there was another billion started last week. there is money there to move the market up. question is whether whales dump after ETF announcement to load their bags again at lower level.
-
@NowThis it's ok. Apparently all the youngsters are doing it.

Bijan or Ayuk this week?

^^
Exactly. Total pump signal, except when it's not. Everyone better load up in case I need some exit liquidity.

did prime rib and lobster tails. pulled the meat at 115F from the green egg and let it rest wrapped in foil, then the in-laws were late, so it rested for about 1.5 hours. Still turned out great
lobster tails were cut in half and grilled with some butter. Managed to not overcook them and they turned out great.

in general, tether mint = whales are taking out loans to buy (BTC, alts) to push the market up. when BTC moves into cexs it's bearish as whales look to take profits and sell BTC. when it's market moving type money, they have to be somewhat delicate in timing and will use 'good' or 'bad' news (ETF happening; not happening; China banning etc...) to mask things and get more public money flowing. it's never that simple though. there are twitter accounts that track whale moves and try to map out what they and the big cexs are doing, but it's never 1+1=2. if all that money is there waiting to buy, they are not going to buy at the local top, right? There will be a move down so they can pack their bags more cheaply.
again, nfa and all that. as i have repeatedly said on this thread i get all my info from an anon discord channel lol. i am about as qualified to talk crypto as some of you are at breaking down PK's zone defense on the football board (sushihorn notwithstanding). i've got roughly half my crypto kitty in the market right now. some long-ish term and some with stop losses set.

Fresh $1B tether minted Xmas morning. Hope your bags are packed.

this thread is frightening. Son got his first B in HS (as a soph) and we are like "well, there goes UT". The CAP thing UT Tyler sounds interesting if he could qualify for that. got some family there anyway.

Doing a q&d search, looks like their athletic fee is $350 each, times 77k means the students are paying Jimbo's $26 million 2024 buyout, with about tree fiddy left over for gas.

I agree with you 100%. I actually only listen to the one free show and that's when I'm walking the dog at 10pm. I know it makes me a dinosaur, but I'm all about live/local. I don't really enjoy listening to something I know was recorded three days ago, especially if I have to jump through a few hoops to get to it.
i mean, how else would you even know that Michael Jackson died?

is Ohtani really giving up the time value of money and not getting any increase in total compensation for deferring? the Bonilla deferred buyout comes to mind, so why would Ohtani give the Dodgers an interest free loan essentially (other than wanting to free up salary for stellar teammates)?
I have to believe this has not really been done before 'cause no other player would risk inflation (or new taxes) eating in to that 700M. Fuck, the world or America may not even resemble today in 10-15 years. 700M could buy some kick ass zombie apocalypse gear or a private island or three with Airwolf, Blue Thunder AND Firefox to ferry you back and forth to the mainland.
