Care to share what it ran you point wise? Is there a good site to mess around with potential stays vs the beating of the Marriott site and just checking different properties? I have 294k points right now and I don’t know what I want to do for the holidays but I wouldn’t mind a fun ass few days/week somewhere awesome

the JW was ~63K per night for a standard room.  The Marriott in Bham  for the UT/AL game was ~22K per nigh I think

I used to save up points and get a suite at the Cosmo about every year but redemption was terrible this year and it was like 260K or something for 2 nights.  the  Points Guy or similar point blog had a decent write up for Marriott rewards like a month ago, google-fu that and it should find the article.  The Waldorf properties are always fun but again, they seem to be gouging you on the redemption amount.

So the truck tells me the PSI of each tire.  But she drives a VW, and the stupid thing doesn't tell you crap when it comes to TPMS.  The procedure: Please air up the tires to their "full" pressure, then hit the reset button for the TPMS sensors, and we'll alert you when there's a deviation.  But the alert is "SUDDEN LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE" and no further information.  Have had two alerts this summer, which I believe is due to battery drain on a given sensor.  Either way, VW doesn't tell you anything about actual pressure in the tires, just a green or orange tire on the display to tell which tire is losing pressure.

well, the bug used to not have a gas gauge.  you just ran out and then flipped it to an emergency tank to drive to a filling station.  baby steps

  3. Finally depleting my Marriot Bonvoy points this summer.  couple of rooms at the JW Marriot in San Antonio and just pulled the trigger on the Texas/Bama game and using a free nights award at the plain Jane Marriot in Birmingham.

I've had that card forever going back to the Starwood days, but they seem to keep depleting the award stay values every year.  Might look for something new.  any of yall keep the Bonvoy card around?

So, would that be manslaughter, accidental, or what?

    a good start?

I am one of the few on surly not a lawyer, but does the fact that car driver was doing illegal shit trump the pedestrian doing illegal (and profoundly stupid) shit and had to have been drunk/high to attempt that ?

it's actually like having 2 27" 1440p monitors.  and it has almost a million fewer pixels than a 4k monitor. and costs more.  and i doubt that cheap startech thing could drive it (looks like each hdmi port can only drive a single 1080p peasant resolution screen).

@tbone_ needs to tell us what computer he has

yeah, not sure i would drop $1K on it.  i got mine heavily discounted for ~$150, and you do give up some real estate vs 3 monitors..  I like that i can hook my work laptop in through one HDMI port and my home comp in through another and don't have to mess with driving the video through my switcher.  also less power cables, hdmi cables etc..

  6. Wait, Texas wants to tack on a more stringent bill than current Federal law?  But i thought that was bad and what the last shitty bill hot wheels signed was supposed to combat, but at a state level.  You know the one where big cities could not enact policies (like mandated water breaks, min wage, time off etc...) that went above the state statute.

    fucking hypocrites.

  7. is there even a legacy component to UT admissions? you have to figure that somewhere in the admissions bureaucracy there is a detailed specification on how to admit students using certain criteria.  just curious if 'legacy' is part of that or is it more like the part where admissions checks to see if any buildings are named after the applicant's progenitors before making a final decision.

Bali Hai is great if you aren’t a real serious golfer (I’m not). The convenience can’t be beat, but it’s a party course. I’ve played a couple of rounds there that got pretty backed up and slow, but a cart girl comes buy often and it’s a decent enough course with some fun holes.

Good to know and appreciate the Intel.   Should be perfect for us

C'mon, one of you moronic cunts fess up and admit you bought one of his trading cards.  It's okay, being stupid isn't a sin.

Be a fucking man and admit what you did.  Be brave.  Be bold.  Be a cunt.

i've been pretty much out of the game for quite some time, but if you minted those, you could have sold for a profit a short time later.  i was actually kinda surprised at that and thought they would flop.

Respect to people who traded in jpegs of cartoon monkeys for patek philippes. Finesse masters.

lulz, that's kinda how came into mine (JLC not a patek).  wore a GShock before that i still wear when doing stuff outside.  love that it gets the ULF signal from the atomic clock in NORAD (i think?) every day to keep exact time.

  11. heading out there labor day weekend.  playing golf for the first time in the area and landed on Bali Hai since it's really close to the Aria where i am staying.  Any thoughts on that place?  Guys I am playing with are hackers so did not want to go someplace too fancy or stuffy.  Just want to have good time.  Any other tracks around there fit that bill?

Aria had a pretty good deal for 3 nights for $240 all in (plus $100 in credit).

  12. might as well go ahead and charge the dad with manslaughter or something.  who leaves a loaded (maybe even cocked) pistol on the nightstand at all times?  Are these people so fucking scared of a home invasion that they are inviting a much more likely tragedy into their house.  Not sure how a father would recover from knowing that his stupidity/negligence/fear murdered his wife and unborn kid.

Posting this as a possible thread holder if I want to fuck with her, the woman, Kami, who runs this org US13 admitted to me just now in a Denver bar she gives nothing to the 13 families. Will look for possible ways to fuck with her. Says she is from Austin Texas on the website but her drunk ass friends and her said she lives in Hawaii.

it’s your classic lists of buzzwords and bullshit including patriot, miracle babies, God, and guns.

    https://www.us13.org/team-1

yeah, their website says nothing about actually providing money, resources or tangible aid to the veterans' families.

"Our goal with this organization is not only to keep our troops & their families' names remembered forever, but to continue showing love & appreciation for our military & all of the brave men & women who serve this amazing country"

just to keep people remembered.  so that probably entails taking donations to keep the servers running on the website and directing traffic to her clothing line.

Last night I was watching the CWS (fuck you Wake) and drinking a michelob ultra in a koozee.  Don't judge me.  But my MIL walks by and asks, "are you drinking a Bud Light?"

I casually answered, "no, it's a Michelob Ultra", but a few seconds later I realized she was trying to bring up the Bud Light right wing nonsense.  I wish I had realized it at the moment and told her, "yes, absolutely", but the moment had passed.

It must be really sad to walk around with right wing bullshit talking points and outrage memos constantly running through your mind.

    P. Manning was drinking a bud light at the Tenn. CWS game and it was caught on camera and people were losing their minds.  at least per a Twitter post i saw.
