This is truly a Trust the Corches situation for me. They've done a good job managing headcases like Agiye thus far. If they think Evan is worth the risk, go for it. If not, I get it

This is the way. The passionate discourse is somewhat entertaining, but I really don't get why Stewart riles people up so much. Sark is responsible for the culture, and I'll opt to trust whatever decision he makes as it relates to whether this guy will/won't be a fit.

  2. I mean, there are a lot of QBs who have played at Texas who haven't done what Quinn has done yet. We went through 13 years of conference championship-less QBs.

Just the premise of trying to label him as one of the greatest QBs in school history before the season is done feels deeply flawed. Based purely on accomplishments to date the answer is no. He has a 1-1 record vs OU and a conference title. We have plenty of QBs in school history that could meet that bar.

I don’t think he cracks top 5 today, but he has a path to crack the top 3 if he has a magical CFP run. His legacy at Texas will 100% be influenced by his performance next month, so I don’t understand the rush to judgement before those games are played.

  3. I'll be curious to see how the playoff game(s) affect his decision.  Logic would say they "shouldn't", outside of terrific or terrible performances, but he's a lifetime UT fan.  If we fall just short, will he come back for another shot?  If we win it all, will he go pro, regardless of draft predictions?

It’s beyond hard to imagine a scenario where we win it all and Quinn isn’t at the absolute center of our success. He can easily play his way up or down the draft boards based on the CFP.

  4. We've been dealing with bias all season I don't know what you think it would be any different now. We have no one on the committee to speak on our behalf considering our own conference would love to see us left out.

Jesus with all the fucking PTSD around here. We don’t need someone from the broke ass Big 12 advocating for us. Our play on the field is advocation enough.

Besides, we already won the league. The Big 12 wants us in because then they at least get a check on our way out the door. Plus they’d be able claim a college football title if we won the motherfucker.

In short, take off your fucking tin foil hat and embrace the fact that we’re getting in the motherfucker.

  5. I'm not going back to look, but I'd advise everyone who wasn't around in 2008 to remember....FCB.
    .

Irrelevant here. That process was math driven and included the coaches poll where there was outright fuckery to keep us out of the title game.

Not saying that the committee will absolutely be above fuckery, but this process should theoretically remove the type of bias that bit us in the ass back then.

  6. I find it fascinating that brands have not zeroed in on a $99 bottle that is perfect for gifts. My specs would be something between 90-100 proof, 6-10 years old, and a handsome bottle.  That's it.
There are lots of great tasting options from 50-75 bucks. Then it moves to around $125-$150 range. Barrell is in that $100-ish price point but it's all cask strength. If the person getting gifted a bottle is not a bourbon enthusiast, they're probably not going to properly enjoy or even pour a high proofer.

Blue Run is pretty much there, though their availability isn’t quite wide enough where it’s dead simple to find. I’ve pointed a lot of people to that for gifts and everyone has been happy with it.
