I’m the worst at hand history’s because I’m at minimum stoned and often add a few cocktails to the mix, with no note taking, etc…

But, first hand from last night:

1/2, just bought in for 3 hundo, open KJ off in middle position over one limp to 15, CO calls, everyone else folds, flop is:

    9 10 Q rainbow

I lead for 15, CO raises to 50. Your move?

    Flat

$2/5, $800. Fourth hand of the session

Folds to CO who opens to $20. He’s a solid reg w about $1k. I call with QhQs looking to be sneaky with him. $40 pot

JdTd9d. I check, he makes it $35, I check raise to $125. He slow calls.

    Qc. I check call $300.

As. I check, he jams. Your move?

    Fold

  3. 1/2 pot bet and calls a 2.5 x checkraise makes me lean towards your opponent having a nut flush draw, a straight, 88, 77, 33, 66 or 44.  I wouldn't think 99 or 10-10, but it's possible he's getting sticky.  Your check raise would typically indicate at a minimum two pair or a good combo draw.  Tough to try to hold on in that situation with a naked overpair for two more streets - but he is in position.

I may just jam here.  If he has 66 or 77 or the nut flush draw it would put immense pressure on him and he may fold despite being ahead.   Sure you lose the 1010 or 99 and get called by the straights, but you may also get the two pairs thinking you have a combo draw and are bluffing.  You still have some of your full house outs in that situation.

I guess aggy is going to take his brother?

But you have to give his brother credit listing Oregon as another school he's going to visit.  He certainly knows the game.  It looks like OU may be going to buy its way out of the disaster that hit it last year as well.

  5. He said he was aggro, he was on the button, and we were UTG.  I think its a spot to provide some variance to your 4 bet range that is not AA/KK or AK.  A 5 bet will always suck when you are at the bottom of your range.  If you fold though, you lose a little more than you do if you flat and lose.

With regards to what you do after the flop if he just flats - you play the remainder of the hand out of position just like you would have done if you just called the 3 bet.  You are super cautious of AA/KK being slow played.  With the 500 pot and 900 behind your continuation bet should be in the range of $300.  It's not an easy spot, but the alternatives aren't great either.

What would be your 4bet size?

With shorty in between, I think I make it $200 straight.  If LJ jams, it would put Button in a pickle with your chance to re-raise and iso.

That or something like a standard 3x reraise - maybe $230?

He didn’t know either. He was just clicking buttons for about 30 mins leading into that hand

Agreed on last hand.  Earlier though he ran AK into AA on a King high board and didn't get stacked.  I mean I am all for piling on the guy, but he lost the minimum there I think.

I remember him more for Body Heat and being an abusive piece of shit to Marlee Matlin.

I never heard about the abusive piece of shit part until after he died.

  9. I don't understand why Jimbo feels the need to be so adamant/public about the situation when he knows the alumni are buying players.  Just play it like Saban and Georgia and don't talk about it.  I mean defending the integrity of the players because they are accused of NIL deals when instead they got bags is dumb.

  10. I've not read shit.  I think world building in televisions shows is very, very difficult.  It seems balancing world building while finding the right mix of character development over eight episodes seems impossible.  I agree with others who said it probably should have been more.

You just get thrown at the five dragon types and there is no personal attachment and truthfully it is difficult to care or be interested in any of them.  It might be because most of them can't act.  At all.

That's not a problem if there is some background or depth into the quest of the blue lady which there was not other than the dragon is going to join or stop the bad guy.

Which is not a problem if there is some buildup to the political intrigue they try to create at the White Tower.   I mean the blue girl is royalty?  What the hell does that mean?  Oh she's sleeping with the Amber seat, why the hell does anyone care?  Yellow are healers, red goes after people using powers that shouldn't, blue are spies, what the fuck are greens?

Which is not a problem if there is some background or depth into the bad guy and what he's been up to over the years.

I mean I was half paying attention after the first few episodes so I probably missed some things, but in general it just seemed like a poorly acted mess that was extremely poorly written.
