200/400/400 with 25k early in tourney

I open LJ w Q9hh to 1k. HJ SB BB call. 4400 pot

9c7c5s. Check to me, I go 3k. Only SB (50k) calls. 10,400 pot

    6c. Chk chk

    9d. He 4k. Can I find a fold here or auto call/cry?

He’s 40ish European. Nothing out of line so far

I think you have to snap call here.  4K to win 10,400 ... regardless you would still have 18 K

You don’t speak at all, Luttig. Just fucking speak. You don’t have to speak in a monotone and insert long pauses arbitrarily into every sentence. I can’t even hear you. I can’t help but tune you out.

"Donald Trump and his allies and supporters area a clear and present danger to American democracy."

    That is what he said.

I’ve been bubble or edge of bubble so many damn times. I wonder if my strategy somehow lends itself to that outcome. It’s so incredibly frustrating, especially when as you walk to the parking lot you pass the juicy cash games you could have invested your time in instead

And you always have the same thought: “if I had just won THAT hand, I’d be amongst the chip leaders right now”

The week I played the main has for the most part the final week that I played tournament poker.  I've played one or two small buy-in tournaments with friends for fun, but in general - I haven't played a tournament for five years.  I have no regrets.  Much prefer the juicy cash games.

Playing devil's advocate... How do we KNOW that what aggy did in recruiting was just bags o' cash and not NIL deals?

Because we lost the bidding war for Stewart.

  5. I get that the media is lazy.  I get that the college football media is even lazier.  But I can't fathom how any of these people who are covering college football continue to regurgitate and applaud Aggie for being ahead of the curve when it comes to NIL and that some how being the reason they got their recruiting class last year.  Maybe dig a little.  Just a little.

    This is my thinking.

It all started with USC, and until I see otherwise, everything else is a smokescreen. Just like Caleb Williams. Fits the pattern and I’m betting it has been a done deal for a while.

Would love to be wrong though.

I think it makes sense that they lured him into the portal.  But then UT put an NIL deal that exceeded USC and probably explained California taxes and cost of living to Addison.

The real question to me is whether Addison sees Ewers and Worthy and Robinson and Naylor as a positive or a negative.  I don't know what the starting lineup looks like offensively at USC right now as a comparison, but does he view having a WR as talented as Worthy as a positive or negative.  I suspect since he was considering Alabama he doesn't give a shit.

Ha. Thanks guys for the responses.

Last 6-7 sessions I have run into some @TXSooner518 type runouts no matter how I have played (slow, aggressive, whatever) where my opponents have somehow caught up. If they have 5 outs or less, they are sure to get there and make their hand. Just wanted to check here with some other players before I lose my sanity, go postal, quit playing altogether (the wife would LOVE that) , or some type of combination of  ALL 3.

I did (thinking just for a bit, should he have a higher boat ) what the 3 of you said and JAMMED.....big blind couldn't fold fast enough for the OTG better ($90) to snap call me. He says "I have a full house " as he is flips his cards and I knew what he had, yep......QJ off for a higher boat and the pot.

    THANKS for playing.

Again, I appreciate the feedback. Good Luck! at the tables.

After the bet of $90 you don't have enough behind to make it a decision.

Late last night at the Lodge and stuck for -250. Been card dead for awhile and on the button I get J7 spades, have around 250 in chips. OTG straddles for 5. HJ and myself call, SB folds, BB call. OTG raises to 15, all call, four to the flop.

Flop is Qs Jc 9c which checks around. Turn is Jh. Checks around to me and I bet $20. BB and OTG call, HJ folds. Pot is just over 120.

River is 7h which gives me full house. BB checks and now OTG takes over betting with a bet of $90...

I have $206 in front of me.....Call? Raise? Fold?

Did I miss the part in the game where you get another card after the river?  Jam.  All day.   Every day.  If someone has you beat - so be it.  It's not your night.

We’ve all been there. Agree turn and river super easy/standard. Easy to say seeing cards and trying to not be results oriented but Boomer likely shoulda 3b pre. I don’t mind his flop flat since in that spot your thought is really no bad cards can turn.

Absolutely should have three bet pre.  That's the biggest mistake in the hand - not the UTG tilt play and then following through until luckbox.
