  1. Last chance to look at players and pitchers before SEC play starts. I would think we would see a few arms tonight.
  2. Quinn Ewers as Texas quarterback is history now, just like the actions in WWII are. Talking about how other quarterbacks could have changed the course of Texas football seasons is much like how talking about how people or actions could have changed WWII. So, there is a parallel between the two. That is no matter how much you discuss either, none of it can be changed, that's why it's called history.
  3. Hirohito was not just the emperor he was a god to the Japanese people, superior to them by custom. The Japanese people had never even heard his voice before. When he told the people that Japan needed to unconditionally surrender it was over. The Japanese military couldn't convince him to fight on, they wanted to. They knew if he told the people to surrender that was the end and it was.
  4. Well, if Adolph hadn't decided to put the "do not disturb" sign on his bedroom door and sleep in on D-Day things might have been a little different too. No way that invasion was coming to Normandy anyway. On the other side of the coin, if Hirohito hadn't decided to stop playing God and speak to the Japanese people and surrender unconditionally. Japan would have been glowing for the next hundred years from all the radiation.
  5. What if Terry was named the new President of Texas by the Board of Regents. This would save a buyout and give him a soft landing. However, what if Terry used his new position to somehow save his job as basketball coach? I think there should be poll on this. Think hard and choose wisely.
  6. I bet the defense would improve and Texas would primarily be using a man-to-man technique. He was a quarterback in college at Washington, he might know something about offense and play calling. He loves to recruit and still very spunky for his age. I have never seen him wearing glasses either, except for some cool shades, doubt he would wear those indoors. I think he would love the challenge.
  7. You can get box scores and season stats on the Texas Sports page, if that is what you're after. 2025 Baseball Schedule - University of Texas Athletics If you are just making a complaint about what ESPN is doing about our game's vs Aggy games. I understand and carry on.
  8. He did lots of baseball games till the complaints by fans and probably even Zeke and Zonk made LHN remove him. Then it was just Swindell and Moreland most of the time. I remember when LSU came to Austin, they had Ben McDonald in the booth with them.
  9. Yeah, Ruth was brought into MLB with Boston as a pitcher, then they discovered his hitting prowess. His pitching and hitting led Boston to a World Series title in 1915 over Philadelphia. Financial trouble for Boston lead to Ruth being sold to the Yankees in 1919 and the rest was historic. It also led to the famous "Curse of the Bambino" over Boston for many years.
  10. There is still hope for some there. 11. May be time for another "heat check" on texags.
  12. A grooved fast ball heats them up. Belyeu could use a hit here, he's been scuffling a bit lately.
  13. LSU is a pretty complete team, as their ranking shows. It's a step up in competition, most teams in the SEC are. It's at home and expect the biggest crowds of the year by far. It's the barometer that this conference brings.
  14. Navarre has the crooked hat look working. Like Daniel Pena back in the day.
  15. Maybe Navarre hangs around if he keeps pitching well. Maybe Burns in the ninth.
  16. Schloss not pleased with it either, Bing was supposed to be a control pitcher. Quick hook.
  17. Bing still hitting batters.
  18. Decision to hold Chamberlain doesn't look so bad now.
  19. Well, it's a catcher in Chamberlain. Speed on the bases is not him.
  20. Antico was a redshirt senior and Winfield is a sophomore.
  21. Winfield is Antico when he started, the Big East wasn't great. Hope for the same result for a turn around. Dylan may have been on a pitch count, may have just wanted him to go five innings. Left him out there in the sixth to face a lefty hitter and then got him with a righty hitter coming up. It's good to take him out with a chance for the win and a good feeling from a good outing.
  22. It's a crime Stanford couldn't find a position for Marquess if he wanted one. He was Stanford baseball in their heyday. I can still see Kyle Peterson beating Texas in Omaha pitching for Stanford.
  23. Santa Clara keeps giving Texas chances with shoddy defense. Need to take advantage
  24. That's Schuessler's second off balance hit, kept his hands back and got the barrel on the ball, just served it out to center.
