  1. Who is #21 on Florida? Make Sydir look svelt
  2. 1st part good... second part bad
  3. First of all, I'm not sure what you point is. Your original statement was wrong. If you want to amend your statement that's fine, but don't act like the goal posts didn't move from "think" to "have Federally legalized". Second, the reclassification is already in process. US DEA will reclassify marijuana, ease restrictions, AP sources say | AP News I realize that it's not the Surly way, but please educate yourself on the issues before spouting off.
  4. @safe sex was responding to you saying, "both parties think", which is demonstrably false. Part of the Dem platform was to reschedule cannabis Kamala Harris promises full marijuana legalization – is that a gamechanger? | US elections 2024 | The Guardian
  5. Not sure why, but young Dixon really wanted to have sexy time with that RE chick. I'm guessing she was nowhere near as hot as I remember her, and I don't want to look it up and ruin my memories.
  6. Completely agree. I wasn't speaking only about the US.
  7. Technically Socrates πŸ˜›
  8. That's certainly possible. But perhaps after the next mass extinction event the survivors will come up with a better system.
  9. Perhaps we should all accept an uncomfortable fact. Democracy is a horrible system for selecting leaders.
  10. This is where you lose me. Belief in God is a matter of faith, not fact. The only fact, when it comes to religion, is that there are, and have always been, more than one. And even within the larger groups of those religions, there are different interpretations on the doctrine. So why should your particular flavor of religion be used to dictate how everyone else lives their lives?
  11. @gsoda3 I'm confused by your position. Are you arguing for or against legalized abortion?
  12. Religion is a scam ...news at 11
  13. Welcome to Team... This is exactly where I stand. I did my part, but apparently more people chose the Leopards Eating Faces party. If this were a split election where Trump won the EC but Kamala won the popular vote, I would likely have a different take, but the people spoke so, good luck with that. As a 50+ year old, white, cis-gender, straight male with a Top 5% income and no kids, I'm less likely to feel the brunt of the Trump agenda. I feel horrible for those in a less ideal situation who voted for Kamala. I hontely thought she would not only win but win convincingly. However, it turns out that was just a result of me seeing the election through the lens of the 68% Kamala Austin bubble. So, now I will just sit back and enjoy watching the Leopards eat the faces of the minorities, LGBTQ+, and women who voted for them. Sorry to be crass, but it's true. Elections have consequence.
  14. I could see that, but not sure I'd want to slink back to my hometown (or close enough) after failing to live up to the hype of my 5* billing. But obviously everyone is different.
  15. Maybe he can join Maalik at Duke, or hit one of the other former UT transfer hotspots like UNLV or Nevada
  16. What, no love for Hispanics?
  17. Two more wins? Great, another middling 1st round pick. πŸ˜‚
  18. Welp, time for a night cap... I'll see what Democracy Claus left me in the morning. Goodnight ladies and gents
  19. Most immigrant groups want the door shut after them
  20. I am looking at the data. Steve Kornacki is doing a deep dive
  21. Usually I'd agree, but not sure what else the Dems could have done. If you're willing to vote for a convicted felon, rapist, fascist, pedo, I'm not sure what messaging the Dems could have rolled out to change that.
  22. What the hell data are you seeing? MSNBC is pretty fucking gloomy
