Who is going to email Jerry Sanchez and let him know he won the auction for $11,450? Make sure to thank him profusely for his generous contribution to the Children’s Miracle Network. There will be some tense moments at the Marquis this morning when he wakes up to this.

I thought the winner was Jerry Sandusky once I saw the charity for children. For a minute I thought he was out of jail and back in the football world. Fuck that piece of shit.

So cool that the future of the world is being negotiated on Twitter by the guy who hosted The Apprentice typing in all caps and then thanking people for their attention to this matter.

Hell with it.  Blow it all up and let's see what's next.

To be fair, I read the whole Trump post in the Ace Ventura ass voice but the ending with “thank you for your attention to this matter” put it over the top, similar to the “thank you for your cooperation.”

I think I mentioned I’m leaving a lot of stuff out. One other minor detail that kept us from doing anything in Barcelona was that my wife actually received 29 text messages over the 3 days of flight delays/cancellations/rebookings. So even if we weren’t at the airport waiting, or trying to get to/from a hotel, we never even had a large enough window to plan a nice dinner or something. I got 11 text notifications in the first 24 hours. After that they just stopped. Not sure what we would have done if she didn’t keep receiving hers because it was the only source of communication we have had with anyone at AA, other than calling their help line ourselves.

Your story is so fucked. I haven’t flown AA in years but it was my only option this time around and the flight was cancelled about 8 hours before we were scheduled to leave from Austin. I figured something was up when I checked in online exactly 24 hours before and immediately they were already offering passengers the chance to get a travel credit if we gave up our seat. All of the connecting flights would have been missed if we were involuntarily bumped to a later flight. I don’t think anyone took the credit so American just decided to cancel the flight and give refunds instead of paying the 4x compensation DOT is making them give passengers who were involuntarily bumped and have to wait more than 2 hours. There was no reason given for the cancellation other than “cancelled.” What a crock of shit.

A lot of teachers today are able to teach because they have a spouse who earns much more money, or they are doing it as a second career and they've already got money from a previous career.  Teachers straight out of college without another source of income are getting squeezed.  They teach for 3-5 years and find out that they can make a lot more money doing something else ... and if they ever want to buy a house or maybe a new car, they need to move on from teaching.

Most teachers now only are teaching because it’s the next step up in the career ladder. They can make 3X to 4X the money being assistant principals and principals, but they need the 3-5 years in the trenches as classroom teachers before they can apply for AP roles. I remember being in high school and the teachers were old ladies or old coaches who had been there for 20+ years. It’s not like this anymore with the younger generation of teachers and the younger generation of shithead kids who can’t go 5 seconds without their phones.

Siap, an ok summary of the basics, but you'll get better technical information from lifers and advocates.

In the 45 minute press conference about 3 weeks ago Lt. Dan and others really seem to be conflating synthetic products and extreme THC with the flower bud that people want legal. All of the horror stories seemed to come from minors and the synthetic products. I kept hearing, "This ain't your Grand Daddy's weed!" Well then, legalize my 'Grand Daddy's' weed.

I haven't smoked since 2017. Haven't smoked regularly in 20+ years. Started too early though, 15-16yrs.

Weed made me want to be a better more productive person. Alcohol made me the boss, and I didn't have to do anything I didn't want to. So I gave up the first. Was looking forward to a personal reversal here in a couple of months. Perfect timing, thanks Life.

There is a huge disconnect between “synthetic” and “artificial” that people aren’t understanding. Delta-8 is naturally occurring in the cannabis plant. It’s “synthetic” because obtaining it in large amounts from hemp requires the isomerization of CBD, which comes from hemp. This is like turning glucose into fructose. Things like “K2” and “Spice” are artificial because they are man made and not naturally occurring.

Delta-9, the THC which is the main component of marijuana (from the cannabis plant), is also naturally found in hemp. Hemp derived Delta-9 is federally legal as long as the dry weight is 0.3%. So all the THC drinks with 10mg of hemp-derived Delta-9 in them are technically legal because 10mg of THC in a ~12 oz can is under the 0.3% weight limit. The same goes with the weight of gummies. This leads me to believe the alcohol industry is heavily involved in banning this because THC drinks have really been taking off.

Sure, if you are in Texas’s you cannot provide something via mail.

If you are in Oregon, who is going to stop you from shipping something to Texas? Now once you open it in Texas you are in possession in Texas and breaking the law.

Retailers in other states will stop shipping to Texas because doing so would make it a Class A misdemeanor. The Cheech and Chong gummies aren’t shipped to certain states because of laws like this. Other states like Colorado and Oregon don’t allow it because they already have established cannabis laws.
Texas will go after companies breaking the law by mailing products to customers in Texas.

I don’t think you are going to need to stock up, mail order for what we could buy in Texas is likely still going to be available since it is legal on a federal level.

When King introduced the bill on the house floor he said as much, he noted no matter which version of the Bill was passed people would still be able to order via mail.

Once we have a signed bill with a date we will either have until September 1st or Jan 1st, and we will know about mail order in the time between.

My interpretation of the following text from SB3 is that it’s illegal to provide through the mail.

I am an advocate for autonomous driving.  I want to see us get there as soon as possible and save millions of lives.

Tell Tesla to put some lidar in their cars before you start saying shit about “saving millions of lives.”

Using only cameras to drive vehicles is like only using your eyes to see without using your ears to also hear if something is coming towards you. If anything, Tesla is hindering the advancement forward for autonomous vehicles by shitting on LiDAR when clearly it is superior to the camera-only system Tesla uses.
