The only time i ever tip is when i actually eat at the restaurant. Putting my food in the bag is not the same as waiting my table.

    Fucking jerkoffs.

Look, I know they don't have to refill your glass or ask you if you are ok, but there is someone plating your to go food into Styrofoam and making sure it is ok. In fact, that might be their main job on any given night.  A small tip shouldn't be out of the question.  Small tip.  I worked at an old diner in SA (I-10 Diner) in college. My job was to get wine and beer for waiters, make shakes and get deserts, and plate up to-go meals.  I also took to-go orders at the bar. Waiters always tipped me out and the non-assholes who ordered to go tipped me a little.

But.... I do agree with most of what was stated in the first couple of posts.

Taquitos West ave is damn good, no puffy tacos though. If you want puffy tacos I would go to Ray’s Drive-in, if you aren’t scared of the hood.

Wedding I went to tonight had them out there making two types of taquitos on their portable cooker.  First time trying them.  Damn good.  I'm definitely going to take the family over to eat in house.

  3. Well shit. I’m behind. But there is no question that Miazga is a piece of shit bitch and I hope I never see him playing in meaningful games. Hate that douche

  4. Bump.  I was having a beer at Hills and Dales and one of the guys (56 years old)  I see there regularly came up to give me a message he now feels he is meant to share.

    Get the test.

About a month ago he went home after a beer and told his wife he was feeling "off". He had been feeling tired a lot the previous month but docs kept saying "we will test you later this summer, your labs are good" . He went out for dinner with his wife but couldn't sleep that night.  Blood pressure was elevated so they went to the local Helotes urgent care.  Luckily there was a veteran nurse there who pushed tests.  He was in the midst of a heart attack. 90% blockage of LAD.  He had stents put in that night and is feeling so much better.  He has changed his diet and is now drinking Topo Chico at Hills.

  5. Got invited to the last two SA games and had a good time.  They had a real chance yesterday against the Huskers, I mean Defenders but couldn't hit the 53 yard field goal to keep the playoff hopes alive.  Players are really accessible. One came up into the stands and hung around to take pics with the fans.  Most came by to thank the fans as they went to the locker room. As usual, SA supports well.  Not as crowded or loud as UTSA games, but the dome is still a good home venue.  I hope it lasts.

  6. Upgraded to PS5 this past Sunday and immediately ran into the memory issue when transferring games. I really don't purchase games often, but would rather keep them handy.  How much extra on a M.2 SSD would you all recommend. That can certainly get pricey. I have GT7, Last of Us Remastered,  Battlefield, RDR2, Battlefront 2, FIFA, and a couple of my boys smaller games fighting for space now.

SA Mex types I grew up with mixed it up - Spanglish

That and told stories using sound effects.

When I was in high school and my parents were out of town, I changed our answering machine incoming message to

"No estamos aqui...pero...If you want to leave a message..."

Took them a few days after they got home to notice.  Mom didn't laugh. She was a Spanish teacher. (at Heights Cajun)

  8. Just found this thread....probably because I AM doing Dry January.  I've really have had no problem with it, and I'm a pretty regular beer drinker.  Most challenging days were the 2nd Sunday of January when I was grilling, and then last week after a long day of coaching. I entered into it as part of a weight loss jump start and it's definitely helped.  I tend to snack more and eat later when I'm having drinks.

I'm also working out more when I might normally be grabbing a beverage.  It feels like my habits will be different once I lift the "full on dry" restriction.

I've definitely saved a lot of money this month, but I've been drinking a shit load of sparkling water.
