I just can’t imagine if he has a big year in 25-26 and is a projected top 10 pick (he will be if he has any type of big year) that he turns that down to come back to Texas for another year.

But again.  I hope you’re right.

Peyton and Eli did exactly that and pre NIL earnings too. The odds of him leaving after 1 year are less than 1%.

This is how you get around the SEC transfer rule:  leave aggy for USC until the second portal window opens, then head on over to Auburn.

The rule only applies to the spring window, he could have transferred straight to Auburn when he went to USC and it wouldn’t have been an issue.

That’s what I thought. Your percentages for 5 stars seemed too low. So has Saban had a higher hit rate on 5 stars, or just basically average?

There’s a chart in the article, if you add up everybody else and compare them to Saban/Bama it’s pretty staggering. Drafted Bama 71% vs Field 59% but 1st rounders Bama 45% vs Field 17%. The mother fucker could develop no doubt.

Development is mostly BS anyway. Look at the percentage of Alabama recruits who were busts. Saban just did a good job of churning through the roster and bringing in a healthy number of replacements. They didn't have guys in their program hanging on like we did.

Saban did a good job of churning his roster but his development was also outrageous. People have ran the numbers and his hit rate on 5* was around 50% while the rest of CFB’s was 20-25%.

This is 100% the schools asking the NCAA to ban the decorating and photo shoots. It’s a huge pain in the ass for the support staffs.

Yea it’s been mentioned on Twitter that the schools themselves are the driving force behind this and not the NCAA. Apparently it has gotten so out of hand the schools were having to book hotel rooms an extra day before just to have everything decorated, an unnecessary expense and pain in the ass.

Yurosek is fantastic - I've watched him play the past ~2 years. He has been held back by poor QB play at Stanford but with Quinn I think the sky's the limit. I'll be really happy if we can get him, assuming we can't get Staes from Tennessee.

We would much rather have either of these 2 over Staes, I’m not sure what the obsession is with him. ND mods said he would have been 3rd on the depth chart if he stayed, give me the guys that aren’t JAGs.

I think Williams is an extreme longshot to be anywhere other than Bama, but if I am playing along and say we actually landed him, it would create a very interesting Johntay Cook problem. Is the answer simply to move Johntay to the other side? Perhaps, but he would be on portal watch.

Johntay is going to be in the slot next year.

CB is a position you wouldn't think we would need a portal body but it will be interesting to see play out. Brooks and Muhammad returning with Wilson, Mack and hopefully Black joining the fold. Probably a safe bet at least 2 of those guys will be ready to play early but you never know. After that it is kinda iffy assuming a guy like Xavion Brice departs. Don't they have Warren Roberson repping at corner right now?

Thinking out loud but I wonder what Gavin Holmes future is here. He has slowly been phased out over the last few weeks. Did he transfer here as a non-grad transfer? Part of me wonders if he might go back in the portal.

Pretty much an open secret at this point that Kobe’s older brother Korie is coming as a grad transfer, he should provide solid depth.

Aren't they losing like 20 guys to the draft & heck even their HC to the Chicago Bears?

Yea they have like 17 Seniors and Super Seniors starting, not to mention McCarthy will more than likely declare for the draft. They’ll still be a decent team I’m sure but they won’t be in the same ballpark of the team they are this year.

He can go to UNC. Mack has the “whining nonstop about waivers” play perfected

The Tez Walker situation was completely different, they had a leg to stand on because his freshman season got completely canceled due to Covid so he never played a down or had the opportunity to at his initial school. They still had to threaten the NCAA with a lawsuit to force their hand, Neyor doesn’t have that leg to stand on as he has actually played for 2 different schools.

The only way Neyor is getting a waiver is if he has a family member with a terminal illness and wants to transfer back to TCU/SMU to be closer to them.

Or he could just get a waiver like literally everyone else in the country and the NCAA won't do shit

The NCAA is the one granting the waiver so no shit they wouldn’t do shit, also the vast majority of those waiver requests for a second transfer have been denied. He’s not getting a waiver if he doesn’t graduate.

I've watched a lot of Colorado this season (I don't have any strong opinions for or against Sanders, I just like to watch football).  They've mastered the art of having the final score look closer than the actual game.

The UCLA game was 28-9 when Colorado scored with 2:38 left to make it 28-16.

Oregon St was winning 23-5 early in the 4th quarter, and 26-12 with 4:47 left.  Colorado scored with 1:42 left to make it 26-19.

USC was winning 41-14 halfway through the 3rd quarter and 48-21 with 2:14 left in the 3rd quarter.  Colorado scored with 1:43 left to make it 48-41.

To be sure, your overall point is correct - they aren't getting blown out of the stadium.  But the games are also less competitive than the final score would suggest.

Deion is a master of the back door cover.

So, second year back Ollie Gordon (OSU) is terrific. Backs that good need to get to the NFL ASAP, to start earning before they quickly age out.

Does he portal this year? OTOH, he fits OSU and knows the team, knows the system. I’m sure they will give him the most NIL if he stays.

OTOH, I’m sure guys like Kiffin are tampering, contacting him and trying to woo him into the portal. There are teams that can pay him more, and give him a higher profile.

Wouldn’t there be a bidding war for him?

I hope we’re tampering with Nick Martin, dude is a tackling machine.
