Or a Blue, which allows for a fall enrollment to practice, but not play and count towards '23 cycle. Allowable if "not-recruited" which surprisingly only means no in-home visit was used by coaches and no official visit was made by player to the school - both of which apply in Champ's case if I am not mistaken.
247 has him taking an OV to Texas Sept. 25, weekend of the Tech game.

Sorry, I forgot to thank you for anointing me your daddy by naming a thread after me! No one else gets one, I'm sorry I forgot to express my thanks.
A Sooner fan with almost a 1,000 posts on a Longhorn board talking about living rent free in somebody else’s head is an amazing lack of self awareness.

Ok. Then i guess we will be attracting five star QBs.
I’d be thrilled if Arch comes here. I just think that the current and 2022 OL group is ass and will adversely impact top tier QBs from coming. There’s this thing called the transfer portal…

Whatever happened with this guy? Looks like we got a bunch of CB’s for him, but no public commitment. Is that still imminent?
I believe Gerry said the kid was filming a commitment video and expect sometime early November.

Gerry Hamilton said Traylor is #1 on the Tech list by a long margin and they’re willing to offer him 4 million a year, 1.5 for each coordinator plus a large budget for other assistants and expanding personnel/recruiting department.

What's the likely finish on defense in this class? A flip from Hyphen? Guilbeau comes back? CTJ thinks Trevell may not end up in the class. If Sark has us at 5-0/6-0 which recruits committed elsewhere start calling?
Maybe they process Trevell Johnson and add Lander Barton in his spot.

Staff changes needed
Brandon Harris demoted/fired and bring in an actual replacement. Dude is in over his head....
Andre Coleman - Nothing against him but Samples over Coleman is a major upgrade and Samples is a closer.I'll wait out the others
Terry Joseph needs to be shown the fucking door for a real CB coach that has skins on the wall, Corey Raymond would be nice right about now.

(Super K) A Couple of 2022 Names to Watch for Visits
A couple of names to watch for 2022 players who haven’t been talked about a ton…
***Texas is still looking to take a second running back to go along with Jaydon Blue. They’ve got their eyes on TreVonte Citizen out of Louisiana who is expected to visit.
Jamarion Miller is a guy they’re still working on but the last time I visited him, he told me he had no plans on visiting Texas. That obviously can change but it didn’t seem particularly promising.
Tavorus Jones out of El Paso already has a visit scheduled to Texas for the big 18th-20th weekend.
But I’m told an in-state back who could be making it in for an official visit before Jones is Newton running back, De’Anthony Gatson.
I’m still familiarizing myself with Gatson and we will likely get out to see him soon so I don’t have a ton to tell you about him right now other than I’m told he’s another target for that second running back slot.
***A 2022 player I did get out to see earlier this year was TE/LB Arlis Boardingham (Van Nuys, CA). Big athlete with elite fluidity. Has a lot of upside on both sides of the ball.
Sark offered Arlis pretty early on. I checked in with Arlis recently on what visits he has planned. He said he didn’t have his visits worked out just yet but was going through that with his parents.
He did say that Texas and Arizona State were recruiting him the hardest.
I like the possibility of Texas landing Arlis because he has national championship level upside. It’s going to be tough without on-field results to land some of the ready-made 5-star types. But if Sark can mix in these kinds of guys who look like they could have 5-star type upside then you’re bringing in potential national championship-caliber players even if their offer sheet doesn’t reflect that.
FWIW, Wells said Gatson hasn’t heard from Texas in over a month.

One of them said it was the LB they were monitoring
Yea, Nahlin said this was the “other LB” they were monitoring but I could have sworn it was TFB and Super K who said there was a LB from the South that wasn’t in the portal yet.

They are probably talking about this guy: https://247sports.com/Player/Kwame-Evans-Jr-46101949/
I think that there's some Durant connection, even though Durant is from the DC area and this guy is from Baltimore, someone posted something connecting the two within the last 36 hours and #6 is "Top 5 Level" without being "Top 5".
He plays for the AAU team that KD sponsors.

Dunk on that thinking all you want. But, the same people that are going to dunk on this are the ones who, for 10 years, assumed "the staff has it under control" while the cfb world passed by. Maybe it's fair not to assume. Especially when you have an understanding of how elite programs evaluate and recruit and you look around and think, this ain't it. Dunk away, but it was a fair criticism in context.
Honestly it was just how quickly people rushed to judgement on it, he was less than 2 weeks into the job 1 of which he spent preparing for a national title game.

I’ve spoken to three former players and onlookers from Saturday’s scrimmage. While each of their views of the scrimmage understandably varied, one aspect of the event did not.
They all remarked that Texas’ recruiting support staff is extremely busy during the practices.
How busy?
I am told they are calling recruits on the phone non-stop. Whether it’s use of FaceTime or introducing them to certain coaches or personnel, it’s a non-stop barrage of recruiting.
And it’s not just one or two of these support staffers, but multiple personnel, like 5 or more by one person’s count.
“It’s definitely different now,” one former player said of the change from Tom Herman’s group to that of Steve Sarkisian. “Before they’d have some guys like (Bryan) Carrington calling individuals, but it was never as coordinated as this. I mean, it’s full-on every, single second.”
Another individual recounted a specific instance from a season ago that shines another light on a difference in approach.
Last year, former defensive coordinator Chris Ash did not like Texas’ recruiting personnel filming and talking on the phone with recruits during pre-game (remember, last year many recruits could not attend games). Ash felt it was an unnecessary distraction and told staffers to stop it and that “we don’t do that around here.”
I am told that Sarkisian’s approach to this aspect of recruiting is straight out of Nick Saban’s playbook. It’s a system replete with thoroughness and carries with it the authority of the head coach. What’s more, it does not rely on any single individual to shoulder the burden of being a primary recruiter of too many players (as was the case with Carrington under Herman).
“I don’t know what all those people do, but they were either talking to a recruit, or dialing one on their phones,” the former player said of the staffers at practice. “It was like a controlled sideshow of the main event (the scrimmage itself).”
Remember when people were crying and bitching after Sark’s first week on the job that he wasn’t putting together an adequate recruiting support staff fast enough...

So this is the list so far for the big 2023 weekend, I think
Reuben Owens
Arch Manning
Johntay Cook
Dalton Brooks
DJ Hicks
Anthony Hill
Ashton Cozart
Jalen Hale (maybe)
Malik Muhammad (maybe)
Dylan Spencer (maybe)
Also, I haven't seen it reported that Toviano is making it in for that weekend, but I'd be surprised if he didn't make it in
IT reported Harris Sewell will be in for the 2023 weekend as well.

The grunt work gang
So we let all/some of low men on the totem pole go and kept most of the top guys with the connections in place. Who’s to say Drew Hughes didn’t already bring a couple of his low level guys with him either?

"I'm going to hold you hostage with my opinion until people with knowledge usurp my opinion with facts" is a winning strategy.
Bryan Carrington
JM Jones
Brandon Harris
Jake Langi
Venric Marks
Matt Lange and his whole creative staff
All guys that we know have been confirmed as being retained and a couple Sark had to fight to keep. I’m honestly just asking if anybody can name 1 other person besides Chang, who we replaced within 24 hrs, who has been let go? Or are we panicking over nothing?

So who are the all knowing? I assume you are referring to @golfclap if so would he mind informing us these other support staff that have been let go?

I knew we had to be missing something so I turned to Google. There are a few ways to get around the 25 cap
It's also, just doing the math, not really an issue unless you go really low for a couple of years. Like... fewer guys than OU would ever sign.
That article is old, gray and blue shirting loopholes have been closed. The only work around is you can count a max of 5 EE back to the previous class if you have room.

Multiple people have hinted that Lawrence has off-field shit, which makes a borderline take pretty jaggerish to me. Maybe that's all hearsay and there's nothing there, but it adds risk to a riskier take.
I think you have them mixed up, Abiara was the one with the off field issues he was arrested during the season for some kind of criminal trespass but Gerry said the charges were dropped. I haven’t seen Lawerence mentioned anywhere as having off field issues, he’s biased but Justin Wells called him a high character kid so take that for what it’s worth.

I figured I'd go back and try my hand at the math on how many spots we have available for 2021. A few things I'm not sure about that maybe somebody can help me with 247 doesn't list Calvin Anderson (2018 class) and Gabe Watson (2021 class) but list Parker Braun (2019), Tarik Black (2020), Schooler (2021), Dunn (2021) and Thornton (2021) are there any others missing besides Anderson and Watson that we need to account for? Also I am not sure how awarding walk on players such as Luke Brockermeyer (2018) and Kai Money (2019) scholarships effects counting against their respective class years so I will leave them out currently until we get further clarity.
2017 - signed 18 players for 18 total counters
2018 - signed 27 players (9 EE) + 1 transfer (Anderson) = 28 total - 5 counting towards 2017 = 23 counters
2019 - signed 26 players (9 EE) + 1 transfer (Braun) = 27 total - 2 counting towards 2018 = 25 counters
2020 - signed 20 players (8 EE) + 1 transfer (Black) = 21 total - 0 counting towards 2019 = 21 counters
2021 - singed 18 NSD1 + 4 transfers (Schooler, Watson, Dunn, Thornton) + 2 commits (Ibraheem, Lee) = 24 with the ability to take 5 more counting 4 back to 2020

And Sark recruited him to Bama. He's a tweener, but could be a good fit at ILB if his 4.79 40 is improved.
Was a freshman AA and then followed that up with 72 tackles 10 TFL in 10 games as a sophomore. He would be perfect ILB and push Juwan Mitchell to the bench.
