    Gibbs is the new Pollard.

Slight disagreement.  I think it'll be closer to a true timeshare like Williams and Swift last year unless Gibbs does something to piss off the coaching staff.

Anybody else hopes this dude fails?

They didn’t even give Minshew a shot.

Not unless there's a bunch of Tyreek Hill/Antonio Brown off-the-field issues that surface.  If he succeeds, it will be because the Colts managed to correct his mechanics and footwork.  I'm all for NFL franchises becoming more competent at developing the QB position so we get more high-ceiling guys at the position instead of trotting out Gardner Minshew to dink and dunk down the field.

  3. Does Boston not recall game 6 for them last series?

Philly fucked around for 90% of the game while Tatum was complete ass and got burned.  Boston should be up 10-12+ at least, given how bad Jimmy and Bam have been.

Have you considered that he is simply a stupid motherfucker? Dude can hoop, but he's dumb as a pile of shit.

No one's ever confused the general pool of NBA players, or any pro sports players for that matter, with being rhodes scholars.  But if nothing else, they generally seem to have a grasp of what it takes to stay out of the news off the court to keep the big paychecks coming until they physically break down.

Wow, thought for sure he was getting the Heat - Knicks game so everyone could hype up game 7 at THE GARDEN.

What a wire-to-wire ass beating. Did NY ever get within 10?

And that's despite Miami going 7-32 from 3.   Wasted opportunity for NY to at least make it competitive and get some confidence.

This, team is much better ran than the cowboys and falcons.  But I’d rather see him in Dallas over Atlanta, who the hell is Atlanta’s QB?

    Desmond Ridder (Cinci QB).

He perfectly serviceable to hand the ball off or throw to Drake London/Kyle Pitts.

The good news…Bijan doesn’t go to Eagles. Bad news…the ATL coach will run him like Earl Campbell. Will use his ass up in three years.

Nah, Falcons will have Bijan, Allgeier, and Patterson next year.  And Allgeier is signed through '25.  Even with a rush-heavy attack they shouldn't have to run Bijan into the ground.

Minny is finished, but great effort to keep it close. Can't expect much more from an 8 seed. They really need KAT and Ant to take the next steps to get better, cause that roster is pretty much cap locked.

KAT is what he is at this point.  Minny just gotta hope he doesn't go downhill so quickly they can't foist him off on a GM as stupid as theirs.

He is one a one year $800k contract. This is awesome. They will lose the series (again- Russ has only won one series since 2016) and lock him in on a multi-year contract.

Clippers only have Kawhi and PG locked in for next season (player option the following year).  Are they dumb enough to give Russ a multi-year deal given those circumstances?

There are no big time jobs left open.

only hope is larranaga retires at Miami if they win it all and he’s already said he’s coming back to Miami next year.

He's got plenty of time to cash in.  Shaka cashed in on that Final Four appearance 5 years later.

I didn’t vote because the options are fucking dumb.

I would have voted had there been an option for:

    No

    No, I don’t own guns

    No, I don’t have a micro penis

Agree on the options.  Are of them are slanted one way.

I get not wanting to CR it up, but there's no need to go out of your way to pacify one side, i.e. "No, but not against it."

Just stick to yes/no or purely situational.

    Yes.  All the time.

Yes, but not all the time.

No, but have one/more in the house/car.

    No.

    That's it.

  13. Kind of loaded options there.  "No, I'll take my chances if something happens?"  Way to present the option as you're taking some moderate chance of something bad happening because you don't have a firearm with you.

Going by that type of logic, I should put a roll cage in the car because otherwise "I'll take my chances if something happens."

  14. To be fair, it's not like the "calories in < calories out fatass" crowd is completely wrong...they're just not helpful at all when they try to present it so simplistically.  Yes, you will lose weight if you ate less calories/better and exercised more.  That doesn't cover a wide variety of shit like what calories you are consuming, and as you and others have pointed out, also eating enough calories so that your body doesn't go into survival mode and hoard every single calorie because you're running a huge deficit.  That includes being able to snack sometimes if you are legitimately hungry, just make sure it's something healthy and not some chips/candy.

My body also says he's wrong.  I probably eat better and work out more than 99% of Surly.  I weigh/measure and log everything that goes in my body.  I cook every day.  I do 1 hour HIIT classes 5-6 times per week.  But losing weight is a real bitch for me.  My Dr. has told me that if there is a famine, I'll be in great shape.  I need to lose 20-30# to be at a healthy weight.  Starting in Jan, I was eating ~2100 calories per day and could not lose weight (my BMR is 2300).  Started working with a dietician about a month ago and after talking through things with her, she increased my calories to almost 2300 per day.  Since then I'm losing ~1.5# per week.  What she said is that if the body thinks it's being starved, it will resist dropping weight.  If it is getting just enough nutrition, then it will let excess fat go.  I don't know the science behind it and it seems counter-intuitive to me, but I can tell you it has worked for me so far.  Hope it keeps working

Starvation diets don't work.  I'm changing the way I eat for the rest of my life.

Starvation also isn't a long term solution, or even middle term solution because it's so disheartening to be hungry all the time and because you're on one of those plateaus you still don't drop much, if any weight.  No one's going to put up with being hungry/starving all the time even if they see some weight loss, let alone if the number isn't moving.

    No carbs or sugar there.

Fred also worked in a rock quarry all day, threw another rock around whenever he went bowling, and had to run with that stupid car to get it started.

    And he still wasn't skinny.
