It should be... unfortunately victim advocates won’t let that happen for fear that victims won’t report if we stiffen the laws. There was a USC football recruit a few years back that spent like 6 yrs in prison for a false accusation...
i don’t have the answer but something needs to be done.
Something needs to be done. You should not be able to falsely accuse a crime and tarnish people's name with zero consequence. Like the woman or women who did that against the Duke lacrosse team. Even after it came out that it was false, the damage to them was done. By the time it came out it was not true, the court of public opinion had ruled and moved on.
It should not deter any real victims from coming forward because proof can usually be attained in these times. But making them serve time will start to deter the fake allegations from happening.

Been following this story on a gossip site and a majority of the posters were claiming hoax within days of this coming out. Just crazy.
When the story said the attackers said "This is MAGA country", I knew it was 100% bullshit. Who the fuck even talks like this, especially people from Chicago? And random white dudes roaming Chicago streets at 2am Lmao. I have no idea why anyone would believe that shit.
I stand by the the sentiment that if you falsely accuse people of shit like this as do women do with false rape chargers, you need to serve time. Isn't this falsely filing a felony report? That is a felony I believe. He needs to serve time for this bullshit. Especially crying about a hate crime. Does he not know cameras are everywhere these days? It can easily be proved or disproved. Not one camera recorded the "attack".

How exactly was he seeking attention when he was sitting out the National Anthem for weeks before anyone even knew about it?
Because he knew it would soon get the attention? As you said, it was only a matter of weeks before the cameras found him. It was calculated. He was waiting for the cameras to find him. Nothing more than Tebow kneeling to pray in front of everyone.
You think this was all genuine? I am not buying it.

He used the ongoing issues at hand to land a nice payday once his game was figured out and he wasn't talented enough to adjust. He got one from the NFL and one from Nike (who is one of their biggest sponsors). It was always about the money. But people actually thought he cared about the issues lmao. Dude was seeking attention and then money.
I'm sure the NFL was sick of his shit and just wanted to pay him to make him go away. This is chump change for them and worth it to dissolve the story. Win win for them. They come out looking good by paying him and he goes away. He never wanted to play. No intention. Just wanted to create a media circus and so many fell for it.
I mean this was more than any contract any team would give him.

The settlement is confidential but some reports are saying Kaepernick is getting $60-80 million. Then another report says $20mill. So who knows.
"In a stunning decision, quarterback Colin Kaepernick and safety Eric Reid have reached a financial settlement with the NFL in their joint collusion complaint against the league and will take no further action in the case. While sources declined to offer specifics for the decision, Yahoo Sports was told on prior occasions that Kaepernick and Reid would only settle the complaint if a lucrative financial agreement was reached between the players and the NFL.
The league and Kaepernick’s attorneys released a statement Friday saying the matter had been resolved confidentially. As part of that confidentiality, it is believed both sides signed a non-disclosure agreement agreeing not to speak publicly about details of the case or settlement.
“For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and Mr. Reid have engaged in an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL,” the statement said. “As a result of those discussions, the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances. The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any party.”
The agreement comes on the doorstep of the final hearing in the Kaepernick case, which was set to take place before arbitrator Stephen Burbank this month. Kaepernick had alleged the league conspired to keep him out after he began kneeling during the national anthem in 2016. Multiple NFL players adopted Kaepernick’s protest in 2017, hoping to draw attention to social justice and racial inequality issues. The actions sparked a political firestorm from President Donald Trump and the furor became such a central issue for the league for nearly one year that it instituted a rule that banned protests during the national anthem. That rule has since been shelved by the NFL and now appears to be dead, for all intents and purposes.
The NFLPA also released a statement Friday, supporting the settlement between the league and players.
“Today, we were informed by the NFL of the settlement of the Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid collusion cases,” the NFLPA said. “We are not privy to the details of the settlement, but support the decision by the players and their counsel. We continuously supported Colin and Eric from the start of their protests, participated with their lawyers throughout their legal proceedings and were prepared to participate in the upcoming trial in pursuit of both truth and justice for what we believe the NFL and its clubs did to them. We are glad that Eric has earned a job and a new contract [from the Carolina Panthers], and we continue to hope that Colin gets his opportunity as well.”

Was Barney's side piece Juanita? He is dating Thelma Lou at this point but towards the end of season 1, Juanita is introduced with Barney making a few phone calls to her. This episode, Barney starts to sing to her and Andy behind him joins him and makes him upset haha.
I still think it's weird Thelma Lou was never introduced in this show. She just shows up on the couch with Barney and they are now dating. No background on her or what she does.

Elway went for a serious QB once--Peyton. Ever since, he's been trying to just get by with marginal prospects or marginal vets. It seems bizarre at this point.
Had Manning not had that injury, he would have finished his career with the Colts. Who knows where Andrew Luck would have ended up. Broncos that season had Tim Tebow. But Elway was pretty vocal about not wanting to commit to him long term. Peyton Manning fell into his lap. Manning still had a lot left on the tires at that time. He wasn't some washed out vet at that point.
It's not like that is going to happen but once in a blue moon. You can't win without a QB in this league and teams just aren't going to get rid of any worth a damn. How many teams have a lot of success with free agent QBs? Manning was one but his was a special type circumstance. Nick Foles was a free agent, too but he was also a special type circumstance as he was the backup and they did not sign him back to be the starter.
Elway has tried through the draft but none of them worked out. That is where he is going to have to find the next franchise QB. It isn't going to be this method.

He did use his legs his rookie year. Then the coaches coached it out if him and made him real timid to take off. It's pathetic.Wentz isn’t liked by his own team. Goff is way overrated. If Dak would start using his legs again he would be very good. He also needs to protect the ball in the pocket better. I’d still rather have him than either Wentz or Goff. And Wentz has not shown the ability to stay healthy. That’s kind of important.
Good relies on McVey making all the pre snap reads and adjustments. That's why they break the huddle quick. So that can read the defense before McVey can't talk to Goff. You adjust your defense after that time, and Goff looks lost and terrible. Think of Goff with Garrett and this staff. He'd be one of the bottom QBs. Anyone remember him with Fisher? He was junk and some labeled him a bust already.
And Wentz speaks for itself. This team gets a spark when he's not in there. That's not a coincidence it happened 2 years in a row. There season was in the gutter and might have been close to finishing last before Foles came in. And boom, divisional round appearance. But you still have people who tell us he is some special franchise QB lmao. Dude is piling up injuries too. And rumblings many on his team don't like him.
