  1. I saw this recently and have a mixed opinion. It’s a good movie for sure, but something seemed off. I think it was too slow in parts by far. Then sudden intensity and back again.

The subject matter was definitely disturbing. Dunst did a great job as an exhausted person experiencing horror. The final battle scene was awesome, far fetched, and also disjointed from the rest of the movie.

It’s a tough movie to wrap up in a bow. The Jessie Plemmons bit was the best part and most disturbing.

  2. There really was a Johnny Appleseed. He had an actual business selling seed to settlers as they moved west into and beyond the Ohio valley. But the seed wasn’t for eating apples, but cider apples for drinking (alcohol).

When prohibition hit the government went out and removed all the cider apple trees his seeds had previously grown.

So what’s your take on that. IIRC you haven’t been a fan of Sark in the past along with @immamac

Unless you are driving during rush hour, why would you not use cruise control on the freeway?

Tesla Y owner here.  I don't use basic cruise control on it because it doesn't fucking work.

I drive alot between LA and Phoenix. Straight shot, nothing difficult.  Every time I try to use it out of the blue, going 80MPH, nothing but clear sailing, IT FUCKING SUDDENLY BRAKES, slowing the car from 80 to 40 in a couple of seconds.  As if there is some obstacle that isn't actually there.  So dangerous and disturbing I don't even use it.

I bought it 2-3 years ago for work since I put on so many miles, and before Elmo ramped us his moronic shit.  And honestly I still like it as a daily driver.  It's strangely relaxing for that, even though I still prefer CEVs.

That said, I cackle at anyone that thinks FSD will ever actually work.  That fuckstick's company can't even engineer a car with cruise control that worked for Cutlass Supremes 20-30 years ago.

Arcadia is very nice but y’all are behind on modern prices for it. Even lower Arcadia.

I thought someone posted about living by the Sonoran Preserve but can’t find the post. It was our favorite area. We had nice hikes and had food at The Thumb carwash.

Old Scottsdale, for the most part, is a giant tourist trap.

FnB is a great restaurant. Earning a James Beard was well deserved.

So you asked for advice and shit on that given?

Seems like you you know what you want. Don’t waste our time trying to help.

I think the Sin Eater Weirdo gets Gator during their next scene.

The trailer showed him pinning him on the ground with his hand on his face IIRC. No kill if that’s what Sin Eater wants.

And I think he wants to use Gator for revenge.

    Hoping to stay under $1.5m.

But going to rent for the first year. $4K/mo.

Think it was mentioned earlier but check out Arcadia. Centrally located to everything, close to your work, and the neighborhood has a cool vibe.

What info are you citing for this? I think mixing coverages with a heavy dose of bump and run would go a long way against them.

Drop linebackers into slant windows and align the corners to make sideline throws harder.

They are elite at back shoulder throws, but I doubt they'll live with those throughout the game.

Came up in media when the match up was set.  Sorry no reference.

I agree with your defensive take. To me this will be the most interesting part of the game. PK, what do you have?

But there is no question their WR group is elite. Expect a challenge.

He also wrote 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and Never Let Me Go

Never Let Me Go was closely based on a book by Kazuo Ishiguro, who wrote ... Remains of the Day. And won the Nobel Prize in Literature for it.

Great read, highly recommend (but really dark).

  10. This was entertaining as hell, really enjoyed it.

Had one small nit, more humorous than annoying

    Spoiler

How the hell was he floating above a 1500 meter trench?  Had an image of him kicking his big claws back and forth like a kid learning how to tread water.

Agreed about Alabama, that SECSECSEC bias is real and bullshit. Washington and FSU  are still undefeated. They get the benefit of the doubt at this stage in the season. And Washington has a ton of underwhelming wins.

To your larger point: prolly time for me to step back on this thing.

You referenced top 10 ten teams in prior posts. I think you meant top 10 ahead of us. Not fucking with you, but I get what you’re saying, and I think your argument is valid but debatable.  This weekend will decide if we should scream bloody murder or say aiight.

Texas, for better or worse, has lots of games where they’ve let opponents stay within a score or two most of the game. Ultimately, a W is a W. But when you are surfing channels on a Saturday, Texas, post Alabama, is the top ten team  most likely to  be in a dog fight when other big top ten names are sitting 4 TD leads middle 3rd quarter.

And a lot of voters, for better or worse, take an impression off that.  When it took tOSU 4 quarters to get a handle on Maryland, people noticed. Texas has multiple games like that.

Hey man, I’m In agreement that Texas is unfortunately on the outside looking in, but don’t keep pushing out arguments that are contrary to your thesis. Re: Washington and Alabama.

    Forgot to add FSU.

  13. JFC I want to watch this game but Brando/Tillman are a beating. They’re like the parsley sprig on a breakfast plate. Completely worthless and just needing a flip of the fork to get out of the egg yoke.

Texas also only beat TCU by 3 two weeks ago and Oklahoma beat them by a gazillon.  How far are we going to play this game?

    AS LONG AS IT TAKES

j/k we’re probably on the outside looking in depending on something surprising

  15. He deserves respect. Took over a program wandering in the desert after three coaches brought it to mediocrity.  What he’s done to get us here is worth celebrating and support.
I’m glad to see those that didn’t are now on board.
