Steve Kerr in the 03 WCF, Game Six, Fourth Quarter.

Shit, him and Stephen Jackson in the same damn game. But great call. Steve was great in all facets of the game. Horry in game 5. That fucking shithead motherfucker against the Grizzlies. That was an amazing game from someone who has no dick.

All that to say, I will miss Manu. He should have had much more playing time, and when he did play was all hustle. I love players who give absolutely everything on the court. Except Patty. Just kidding. Kind of.

A Freshman who played sparingly isn't going to immediately address that need. No doubt that Bryant has athletic ability, but he's going to develop for 2-3 years before he has any kind of impact on the team. I just don't understand where the Spurs are going. They're young every year the last 5 years. They picked Castle 4th last season and picked up Fox in a trade. They picked another Guard 2nd this season who hasn't displayed much shooting ability. Is Vassell going to be the odd man out at a crowded position and traded off?

I’m pretty sure they’d not do the Fox trade. Falling ass-backwards into the second pick means that dude is not long for the Spurs (Fox). They’ve got a lot of options to improve the team, but one has to wonder how patient Wemby will be.

Hindsight.  He wasn't as good as he ended up at the time we traded him.

Also dare to look back one more year.  Primo?  Yeah great one.

Also they passed on Halliburton to pick vassell.   Not great bob.

What is this revisionist history shit? White was a really good player for the Spurs as evidenced by the return they got for him. He became a better three point shooter within their three heavy offense but he didn’t become a better player, he’s the same player he’s always been, a badass. He was surrounded by better talent in Boston, but was too good for the Spurs to do the one thing they needed to do, tank. And it worked, the rare trade where both teams are extremely happy with the return.

Vassell, Keldon, and Sochan all good players who have lived up to their draft picks. Vassell’s crime is that he isn’t Halliburton, and Sochan is still a work in progress. Keldon is playing way above where he was picked. There are a lot of shitty picks the Spurs have made,  not sure why you’re crapping on the ones with actual return.

2? gotta hit on a star first and win the lottery at the right time. i suppose every year you dont draft a star you can just add 3 years to it. lets just say the 5 they drafted wont be more than a role player on most teams/ likely bust so that puts them at a minimum 2030 before they can start being serious. I would've offered SA or Philly a damn good haul for one of the Rutgers kids  to at least  have hope on landing a star to sell to the fanbase.  a BYU guard who's 6'8 and cant shoot isn't going to sell much hope.

Don't take any offense to this but I dont think Spurs fans have any clue how painful a rebuild is if you dont have a generational talent fall into your laps

    What’s a painful rebuild?

I was hoping for Sorber, and he goes to OKC. Of course! Carter Bryant couldn't even get minutes on his college team. Who the hell is going to play center on this team outside of Victor? I guess they're going to trade for someone, because there aren't a lot of good centers available in free agency.

He’s got plenty of minutes at the end of the season. The video above does a great job of explaining how he got more playing time, what he’s good at, and where he needs improvement. Sorber would’ve been my pick too, but they also need wing help just as much as they need a center. Kid can play defense.
