Dude was probably gay. Hated himself for it due to his upbringing and could never come close to admitting it or if he did he would never consider truly admitting it to his family or felt ashamed if he did. Was socially isolated due to homeschooling. For some reason, probably depression style loneliness,  got interested in killing people. Wound up killing people, terrorized many others, and ultimately killed himself.

All because some sects of the Christians hate the gay. I still consider myself Christian but hate some subsects of it.

  3. We are likely looking at first going over New Year's time frame.  We usually could avoid it but not this next season.  Any decent sized Colorado resorts that won't be completely covered up with people during that time?

  4. In the early 80's I was a businessman who worked for commodities brokerage firm run by these two brothers. They were always fought about whether making it in business was due to your innate ability or a product of your environment.  One day, I ran into a street hustler named Billy who I assume was trying to rob me.  Called the cops and had him arrested. That's when the owners,  the two brothers decided to make a wager as to what would happen if I lost my job, and was shunned by everyone I know and then give Billy my job. So they proceed to have me arrested and to be placed in a compromising position in front of my then girlfriend. Basically, the only person who befriended me was the hooker they used to set me up.

Yada, Yada, Yada, Billy and I figured out the scheme and showed those brothers that we weren't pawns in their game.

The healthcare racket has to be the most fucked up thing about America. Pharma bribes congress to pass a law that makes it illegal to bring in cheaper medicines from other countries. Doctors and hospitals charge different people vastly different amounts for the same service. And they generally refuse to post their prices. That’s fucking illegal.

Not only is it legal, it's directly because of the government, namely Medicare.  Any clinic, hospital, etc. that contracts with Medicare must "charge" the same rate to everyone. Insurers and the government have their own rates they will reimburse based on regional and negotiated contracts with providers under that "charge" rate.  There are literally hundreds of plans to negotiate these rates individually.

Now, all providers know they won't get this exorbitant initial fee. Their contracts are usually a percentage of this fee and the fee cannot be too high because every insurer sets a limit on what is customary in charges.

For example, Blue Cross reimburses Mercy Hospital $800 for a CT scan, Cigna - $735 and Medicare - $414.25.  Most likely there are about 300 different prices due to contracts and subcontracts with insurers. Mercy Hospital sets their charge fee at $900 because that number captures all the contracts.  If Mercy charged $700 then Blue Cross will only pay $700 and not the $800 negotiated rate.

The one patient (customer) that gets screwed in all of this is the cash pay patient because, by Medicare law, they must be charged the highest set fee that the provider had to set to capture all the negotiated rates across all their contracts.  For example, if Mercy Hospital states Mr. No Insurance can have a CT scan for $414.25 (the same as Medicare), then Mercy can be charged with fraud because although they charged the same as Medicare, they now have charged a different rate to different patients even though it is the same damn amount that Medicare pays.  So, by law, Mercy has to charge Mr. No Insurance $900.  He might get a discount if he pays cash at the time of service.

That is one example of how Medicare FUBAR'd our billing and reimbursement system while adding multiple layers to healthcare administration, opening avenues for fraud and killed price transparency.

Wife told me that she was informed by her school that health insurance was expected to increase 65% in Virginia (where she works) next year.  I believe health insurance is a benefit that counts as a salary increase is the way it's structured but I'd have to verify.  I'm on her plan because it's far better than what most businesses offer.  However, I have to pay several hundred a month for mine through her plan.  If insurance goes up in places like WVA and OK as dramatically, then what the teachers fought to get salary wise just took a tremendous hit.

The current system and cost increases are unsustainable.  If the democrats gain control by 2020, we will have single payer.  I don’t trust our government to do a good job of implementing it.

Doctors] make more money when they give expensive drugs than less expensive drugs.

This simply isn’t true for a vast majority of doctors. This is only true if a doctor owns the practice and then buys the medicine at a cheap rate then bills the patient/insurance at a higher rate. You can see this in cancer treatments.

Otherwise, we usually break even or lose money on in-office medications (i.e. vaccines, antibiotics, steroids, joint fluid replacement).

Usually we lose money when we write a prescription for an expensive drug because we will spend an hour of staff time trying to get it approved.

WTI got very close to hitting $70 today, finished the day right around $69.80.

Rig Count went up for a fifth-straight week. Texas is now back up to 515 active rigs, highest level since February 2015.

I guess we'll see F250's and high five figure inboard wake boats flying off the lots again.

One post on an incel subreddit compared their worldview to Marxism, with incels playing the part of the proletariat and Chad the bourgeoisie. The natural corollary of this idea is clear: If the root of the problem is an unfair social system, then there needs to be a revolution to change it

  11. Lulz. Why did you even create this thread?  Completely predictable. Everything posted about Pence has been already posted before and true to Surly form, 75% of you all are saying the same thing.  Thanks for the revelations.  It's like being in a think tank.

  12. Weapons are one of the first humanoid constructs. As far as the pope goes, Cain used a jawbone.  Boom, murder before you get out of chapter 4 in the first book of the Bible. Are we going to ban all asses from having jawbones???
