  1. Yes.  They lined up, we called a TO after seeing the formation, and they came back out in the same one.
Whatever they run off of that, they were comfortable running it even after we saw how they lined up.  The bobbled snap is exactly why you don't sub anyone cold who has to touch the ball at a critical moment.  Riley got too cute.
    Aah, I missed that.
  2. i think it was to get a quick pass to Murray who could run to around midfield and step out of bounds so they have a shot at a hail mary to the endzone.
This seems right to me. A screen with blockers downfield. Murray then had 3 options: take it to the house, get within FG range and step out of bounds, or step out earlier and line up for the hail Mary. I like none of those options.
  3. Does anyone know what OU was trying to do on its next-to-last play? It's the one at about 41:20 in this video:

OU had 9 seconds to score and was starting on its own 25. Murray lined up in the slot on the bottom of the screen. Backup QB Austin Kendall took the snap and bobbled it, basically killing the play. It looks like the pass is supposed to go to Murray, because when Murray crosses, he puts up his hands as if to say, "where is the ball?"

Murray was open, hehad some room, and he had two blockers at the top of the screen. Thank goodness Kendall bobbled the snap. The last thing we needed in that situation was Murray in space. Frankly, I'm surprised no one called timeout when they lined up like that.

  4. The comparison to 2008 is a good one. The difference is that we did not play close games against lesser opponents in 2008; we blew them out by 6 possessions (anyone remember 52-10?). This year, we cannot seem to put together a dominant performance against anyone. And if we play every game close, then we'll lose some.

I wholeheartedly agree that the fun factor this year is identical to 2008. We're back, or we're on the way back. 2019 and 2020 should be incredible.

  5. Finally got a chance to watch the post game ou presser.
Lincoln and his players seem like little bitches. All pouty and kyler literally crying. Didnt kmow lincoln was such a bitch.
I assumed, it but damn. All butt hurt.
Looked like a buncha entitled assholes.
This could be telling moving forward.
Kind of our issue with mack entitlement.
Herman may own this series for years to come.

Stoops was@dick,eater, but seemed like his players were more tough
Did you see Kyler showcasing his freakishly long tongue for the media? What a strange dude.
  6. As far as a Culture Statement, the 1st offensive drive for TEXAS (5 plays, 75yds, TD) was a game changer imo.....
Matching BlowU's TD with a TEXAS TD proved to both Longhorn fans and the TEXAS players that we could beat the sooners......
Yeah, similar feeling to Shipley's early return for TD in 2008, in that we responded where a response seemed to be critical. The difference was that this was an actual, planned, offensive series as opposed to special teams magic.
  7. Oh sure. But don't act like he was perfect. He was pedestrian for the 2nd and 3rd quarter before he went off.
Give credit to our defense. Brandon Jones's early interception shook Murray, and we had great coverage. In q2 and q3, there were plenty of times that Murray went back to pass and didn't have anywhere to go or was to scared of another pick to try.
  8. Sam Ehlinger has entered ESPN's heisman watch: http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/page/gamedayfinal100618/welcome-big-12

Heisman 5 1. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama: In the past decade, only three quarterbacks have had at least 20 touchdowns and no interceptions through their team's first six games: Tagovailoa, Marcus Mariota (twice!) and Geno Smith.
    2. Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State: He's got 25 touchdown passes through six games. In the past decade, he's just the fifth QB to do that.
    3. Darrell Henderson, Memphis: The running back is averaging 12 yards per carry and has 12 rushing touchdowns already.
    4. Kyler Murray, Oklahoma: Yes, the Sooners lost, but it's hard to pin all of that on Murray, who finished with five more touchdowns, bringing his season total to 26 -- eight more than Baker Mayfield had at this point last year.
    5. Sam Ehlinger, Texas: So what if we're overreacting to one week. Texas is back, baby!
Just like Colt, looks like an amazing game in the RRS has propelled Sam into the national conversation. Atta fucking boy!

  9. Congratulations to Texas on a great win, the sooners, barn, and almost aggy losing is a good day of CFB. If only Kentucky had a QB the last one might have happened. I think Herman has UT headed in the right direction, which I think is good for CFB when the Longhorns are in the conversation for postseason play. Unless I still need to be on the "fire Herman" wagon. (it's hard to keep up with where the fanbase is on this subject)

I was astonished at how bad Kentucky seemed to be. I had not watched them and did not know what to expect, but... How were they ranked at all, let alone in the top 15? Was this an unusually bad game for them?

  10. Everyone thinks Herman is smug and arrogant, but he doesn't hold a candle to little Lincoln who learned everything from Bobby..

Near the end a reporter asks: "Lincoln can you walk us through the last two offensive series"? *Lincoln* "No" (stares the room down defiantly)
Yeah, that was really awkward. I couldn't tell if he didn't want to reveal his strategy? Bizarre non answer.
  11. *Kunt Bowels* "Lincoln, Texas hasn't been nationally relevant since 09"...

Can we just bar Kunt and FCB from covering Texas football? They both need to be slobbering tiny gooner cock from now on..
I'm not sure what was worse, Kunt continuing to insult the Longhorns or Lincoln's smug answer ("Well we've been nationally relevant for a long time and will continue to be nationally relevant" or something like that)

  12. They’re not ranking OU ahead of us when we just beat them and have the same record you dumb shits.

    Tell that to Art Briles.

Edit: in case this reference is too obscure, I am of course talking about 2008, when we beat OU and had the same record as OU, yet OU went to the MNC ahead of us because, iirc, OU was ahead in the coaches poll thanks largely to Art Briles and a few others who put us ridiculously low. Someone correct me if I am misremembering the details.
