  1. I don't think he has the frame to dominate on the DLine.  He's exceptionally well built, but lacks size.  Pound for pound, he's likely one of the strongest on the team.
Senior defensive end Breckyn Hager can power clean 360 pounds (second best on the team), has added 150 pounds to his back squat, and increased his vertical to 38 inches, one of the best on the team. That’s Brian Robison territory, and defensive coordinator Todd Orlando surely won’t make any more mistakes in miscasting him as a linebacker or keeping him off the field.

He is exceptionally strong, pound for pound. By that metric, he was the strongest on the team in winter workouts. I had hoped that his combination of strength and quickness would make him an effective pass rusher, but that didn't happen. He struggled to get penetration, and when he got it, he often made bad decisions.
  2. It's actually gotten worse.
I was browsing dirt burglars this morning (can't help myself), and the consensus there was the same--their defense is worse now than it was in October. They were especially worried about lb play. But they think their offense is a lot better now, which very well may be true.

  3. Not to be negative Nelly, but what the heck do you think Herman is going to say???
Well, on Monday, he said Sam's shoulder was bothering him... On Friday of last week, he said Gary Johnson was suspended... So a healthy shoulder for Sam and no suspension for Gary is better news than we've received in recent times.

  4. Tl; but I read every word and loved it. Especially the part at the end, about OU's star fading.

To me, this game could set the stage for a Herman-Riley era in the rivalry. Will we constantly find ourselves second place to OU, or can Herman turn the tables on Riley? Obviously one game does not necessarily define an era, but in 10-15 years, we could all look back to this game and say, "that's where it all started." This is a momentum game and an era defining game. We have to win.

  5. I'm so tired of posts that start with, "if ou wins..."

They're not going to win. Period. They can't stop Ingram and Watson. They can't stop LJH and CJ. Even if Sam struggles with deep passes, so what? OU's Achilles heel is an opposing offense that can sustain long drives of 3 to 5 yards per play, and we're really, really good at doing that. Short runs and short passes are to our advantage. We'll manage the clock, manage possessions, keep their already shitty defense on the field all game, and win.

  6. I want him to play.
I want him to play and to lose.
I don't want him wondering what he could've done if given the chance.  I want him to have the chance and to fail.
I hope we hit him and rattle him, but I hope he plays the whole game and comes up as he always does...a little short.
I want a violent, full-speed collision between Gary Johnson and Kyler Murray. Something that makes Sergio Kindle's hit on Taylor Potts look like a playful slap.

  7. wait, so that little midget faget was asked to about sam ehlinger's game and said 'no comment'? i can't remember the last time i wished harm on an opposing player, but i hope we snap that little bitch in half.

He didn't just say "no comment," and his response was especially ridiculous in the context of the question asked. A reporter told Kyler that Kyler had previously said he respected Tua's game. Then the reporter asked Kyler what he thinks of Sam's game. In response, Kyler chuckled and said he has no comment.

The clear implication was that Kyler respects Tua's game, but Sam's game is laughable.
