And it must have been the spirit of e.king gill or sul ross that morning hovering over our boat because we caught the biggest __________ (type of fish) and broke a state record by more than 2 pounds.
Because we were so taken aback at how the morning had gone to this point, we threw the fish back in because it didn't seem right.
We did take pics holding the fish on the scale in the boat, but when Bucky got back home to Vancouver he lost the pics when he was trying to upload them on to the internet.
I tell you, that-uz a big ol' fish. I'm talkin' 'bout a big-un! Man, that fish-uz so big, we took a pichur of it an' the damn negative weighed three pounds!

British General Howe preferred whoring in NYC to dragging his ass up the Hudson to help poor Gentleman Johnny Burgoyne, who then lost the Battle of Saratoga.
I had a bundle on a can't-miss nag at Saratoga one time. She went off at 6/2/&even. She lost that battle too.

I'm actually curious if that has ever happened before (both coaches fired midseason after the game they played vs each other)
Damn, I guess November 23rd has come and gone already and I missed it. Time flies like the wind.
(Fruit flies like bananas.)

Yeah I thought FAU would be a sweet spot of sorts for him. Low enough profile to avoid some of the pitfalls at Texas, but plenty of second and third tier local talent that can play. He and his staff were bad roster managers but I think what Sark and co. have done with a lot of his guys tells us the evals were there, which would seem to tee him up at a place like FAU.
Maybe it really is just the alcohol/coke stuff. Hope he gets right if that's the case.
He may be done as a coach but damned if it doesn't look like the boy's got a future in stand-up.

horn4life my ass. Delete thread, ban user. Also, what the Absolut vodka fuck is a wedding shower?
It precedes a golden shower. Or maybe it follows one. Hell, I don't know shit about fuck when it comes to those kinds of things.

An older friend tells this great wedding vs. Longhorn football story: A good friend of his was getting married at four o’clock on December 6th, 1969. Yeah, then. The Game started at 12:30 and we all know what happened in the fourth quarter. My friend wasn’t going to miss the end of that game, wedding or no wedding, so he waits ’til the last possible moment to leave, then breaks all speed records getting to the University Methodist Church on The Drag. He goes in and sits on the back row, barely before the bride and her father start down the aisle. He doesn’t recognize the bride, but he doesn’t know her anyway, so he doesn’t worry. Then, the groom and groomsmen come out and . . . he doesn’t know them from Adam’s off ox. He’s in the wrong wedding. Obviously. Well, he's pissed but he can’t just get up and walk out, so he grudgingly sits through the ceremony. It’s finally over and since he’s on the back row, he’s one of the first to greet the newlyweds. He takes the bride’s hand, kisses it, and whispers, just loud enough for the husband to hear, “I can’t believe you did this to me,” and walks out. He calls his wife from a payphone and finds out that the wedding was at the University Christian Church. It’s over when he gets there, of course, but the reception’s still going on. Barely. He tells his friend and new wife what a beautiful wedding it was, then sheds his tie and joins the celebration on The Drag.
True story. We never learned what happened with the Methodist marriage, although it’s been the subject of speculation over drinks for more than 50 years.

I'm gonna be in Orange County, CA for work in a few weeks. I will head over to the Nixon Presidential Library and have a look see. If I find the original plaque I'll let you know.
Jimmy Hoffa has it.

Crawfords issue was not talent though. It was more football acumen. He’s also playing reasonably well this year. Why the difference? I don’t know.
My biggest deal is that we play hard. Hill, Simmons, Moore. Those dudes just get after it. Big fan of Barron. Big win that he returned obviously.
Big win-win: He helps the D this year and improves his draft stock at the same time.

I sure hope that's the case. Hate to have lost him if he was in our plans for next year and we were actively trying to keep him.

I don't know the ins and outs of his contract with NC, but generally speaking, if he makes them fire him he gets a penalty/buyout/whatever, but if he quits voluntarily, he leaves that money on the table. I suspect the firing was both real and negotiated.
