People can either dismiss what I typed and assume I am a know-nothing dipshit, or they can assume I know what I'm talking about and wouldn't post what I posted unless I had a pretty good source on it. Either way is fine by me, but I'm not going further into the subject. Davis going to Bama would be somewhat mindblowing.

Davis going to LSU wouldn't surprise me in the least and he'd have zero problems getting through compliance there, or SEC approvals, should those actually be a thing.

I am not doubting your intel, I just didn’t know if it was a Bama specific issue with Davis or an SEC head office decision and he was being grandfathered in when Texas joins the SEC. But if he can leave Texas for LSU then that answers my question.

There are substantial problems associated with Davis returning to Bama. Saban would have to be really desperate to cash in the chips needed for that. Not saying it couldn't happen, just saying it would be kind of amazing.

I am assuming this is an SEC thing and not a Bama issue because unless their is some legal issue I have a hard time seeing Saban being told no to an assistant hire.

Just watched Kyle Floods N'awlins presser. He's very well spoken and carries himself like a head corch. Is there any program shitcanning their HC that would be interested? I'd like to keep him, he's recruited very well and for the first time in what seems like forever the O-line isnt an Achilles heel.

I know losing coaches is a good thing because that means you're having success, but I think continuity among the staff played a big role in how this season turned out as well. Hope Choate is the only loss but something tells me he won't be.

Flood had one of the biggest head coaching disasters ever at Rutgers. He would have to drop down to the G5 level for a head coaching position and work his way up again which he more than likely could have done by now if he wanted to.

It actually happens quite a bit.

Matter of fact, Willie Simmons (head coach of Florida A&M) is probably going to be the next RB coach at Duke. Mainly because of his connection to Diaz. Saban has done this a few times too.

Florida A&M is a FCS school in the SWAC which is the lowest level of D1 football. Going from FCS to FBS is a promotion, that is not even remotely the same as going from P4 coordinator to P4 position coach.

Inside Texas has heard only one name to replace Jeff Choate as Texas linebackers coach. That doesn't mean there aren't more coaches under consideration, or that this coach is a lock for the position, but we do believe Arizona defensive coordinator Johnny Nansen is Steve Sarkisian's first choice to replace Choate.

    Of note:

    - Nansen has worked under Sark at Washington and USC
    - Nansen played linebacker in college but has coached multiple positions in his career
    - He has been very successful in his short time as a DC at Arizona
    - He has a very strong reputation as a recruiter, particularly out West where Texas would love to strength its recruiting grip
    - Nansen was born in Samoa and lived in American Samoa before moving to America as a teenager

    Potential hurdles?

    - He's currently the DC and play caller at Arizona. Would he take a demotion even if it came with a significant pay raise? He currently makes $750,000 but would surely enter the million dollar club on Texas' staff. There's always the potential Arizona would re-up to a satisfactory level
    - What's his best route to becoming a head coach, assuming that's his goal? That could be a pro or con for Texas' chances. Time with Sark to better understand how to navigate the current climate would be seen as a pro

One thing's for sure, Nansen and Sark are close. Sark elevated Nansen from coaching obscurity when Nansen was at Idaho. Because of his ability to recruit, Sark made sure to find roles for Nansen on his staff.

With Texas going to the SEC and Arizona sentenced to the Big 12, that would be another reason for Nansen to seriously consider the move.

We'll have much more on this if circumstances warrant. Our info points to Nansen being the top candidate on the board to replace Jeff Choate.

100% bullshit, Nahlin just googled former Sark assistants found the biggest name and ran with it. Nansen is the DC at a power 4 school that is currently one of the hottest teams in the country. He is absolutely not going to take a demotion for a pay raise, that’s a step back in his career.

no u./s  I am not the expert like y’all but I was always lead to believe that pressure hull failures at depth were extremely violent and instantaneous and both Thresher and Scorpion sank in deep water. In comparison to Kursk which sank in shallow waters and thus the crew that weren’t killed in the explosion survived for hours before they either burned to death or suffocated when their oxygen candles started a fire.

The possibility of ending up like the guys on USS Thresher or Scorpion is enough to say no thanks

Those guys died quick merciful deaths at crush depth, the poor Russian bastards on the Kursk is the fate that submariners fear.

The ASVAB didn't really have much complicated math or physics, which is why I did so well. I imagine I would have gotten washed out in A or B and would have landed in the "needs of the navy" scrapyard.

Yeah, the work load at nuke school is supposedly pretty brutal but at the same time they don’t subject them to your typical school navy crap those guys are stressed enough.

It wouldn't have been a bad job. But I'm a tad bit claustrophobic, something my old man brought up. I always wonder what I would be doing now. How much different would my life be.

    CHIEF

You could be making bank with absolute job security working in a civilian plant. I didn’t do the nuke program because if you don’t pass A or B school you get thrown into the “needs of the navy”

I was sick of school after my sophomore year of college, so I hit up the local navy recruiter. Scored 100 on the ASVAB, and shit blew up. Got offered a $30k signing bonus to go to nuke school. My old man talked me off the ledge. He told me "you realize that you will be stuffed into the reactor room of a ship or sub for the next twenty years, don't you?" Stupid me was wondering how he could be so sure. He followed up with, "what runs on nuclear power other than those two items?" Wasn't the only time his logical thinking bailed me out.

    CHIEF

The nukes are untouchable so it does have its perks, they avoid the majority of the navy’s bullshit.

Man, they've reallly drilled the "Alabama was horrible in week 2 but had it figured out by week 6" narrative into their brains... Texas beating Alabama a second time to win a national title in Houston may break aggy for good.

This is the weakest Bama team in 15 years and if Georgia would have made the playoff they would have exposed Texas as a fraud.

  12. 2. Belief is that this is an unenforceable penalty: "Both the grant of rights individually and the severe withdrawal penalty are collectively an unenforceable penalty."

So they have a absolutely nothing and are just lashing out because even I, a non lawyer know this is a crock of shit.

IMO Ole Miss is the SMU of the South with a shittier education and non existent admission requirements. Plenty of snobby wealthy students and alumni. Quite a few from Dallas and Houston.

Ole Miss isn’t the SMU of the south that would be Tulane, Ole Miss is making hay off the upperclass kids from GA, TX, and FL that couldn’t get into UT, UGA, or UF but don’t have quite the money or social status for SMU, Tulane or Vandy. Arkansas is doing a similar thing but they are picking up the A&M rejects that would have gone to one of A&M or UT system schools.

He's suggesting that the aggies have spent their money wisely on long lasting football infrastructure like stadium upgrades which he likens to having a big house and a wife with big boobs. The stupid sips, on the other hand, have spent the money on players which he likens to vacations and things like fancy cars and clothes which won't appreciate in value.

If a mortgage is the largest financial undertaking you have been involved in, lol.

Just once I'd like to see a recruit pull 3 hats out of a bag from the same school and drop them on the table. For instance UT Orange hat, UT White hat, and UT Orange and gray hat, then pick which he thinks looks best on him. I'd LMAO if someone did that!  Kobe, where you?

Pretty sure a LB recruit back during Herman’s time did that, hyped up a top 5 edit and it was just 5 different Texas logos.

  17. Hell just Bobby, Rod and Drew would get my support if they went to YouTube and podcast form. Gerry moving to a national supporter is also great potential if that means he gets to talk with the On3 national podcasts like Andy Staples.
