Reading the various responses about wives in regard to TOF donations are cute. I'll add mine:
"You've spent all of this time and money and we can't even get down on the field before kickoff? Do you think you've been doing this correctly?"
Ahh, the thoughtful, dulcet missives of a totally forgiving and understanding woman, boys, you gotta love it.
Oh yeah, "smooth AF" is perfect. Smooth AF, like a gravel road or a teenage BO&W's face. No doubt.
What does it take to get sideline passes as a donor? Is it just have deep enough pockets or do you also need some connections within Belmont. Could somebody that is like a drop out or isn’t even an alumni but has mountains of cash to burn buy their way on to the sideline or practice field?

Not gonna lie this thread makes the outlook on the season way more positive for me, only because CTJ posted it. Much like the “Tom Herman is pressing his bare ass up to your mirror” thread on shaggy after the shitty 2018 Tulsa win.

Look I’m not full doom and gloom about this game but can we stop including 49-0 as some sort of big achievement? OU literally had no QB. It was a great day, a lot of fun, and cathartic, at least until yesterday; but Jeff Banks’s monkey could have coached the team to a win.
Sark is 0-2 in actual football games against OU and has produced two losses that will be shown in OU highlight videos 30 years from now. It’s fair to question whether he is equipped to handle this game. It’s not going to be litigated again for a year so I don’t want to beat it to death but the early data points aren’t great. If you remove Pat Mahomes two Super Bowl wins he’s 0-1 when playing in the superbowl.

In all seriousness transferable machine guns have an unbeatable appreciation value. The Hughes amendment means that no new machine guns can be added to the NFA registry after 1986 so the supply is fixed and always shrinking as guns get destroyed or confiscated. There is a high barrier to entry as the cheapest machine guns are in the 10k range now and there is always a risk of legislation wiping you out.

In regards to handwringing over Williams, or A&M recruiting, man, I'm having a hard time giving a fuck right now. This shit will come correct. I feel like we're actually witnessing true development of players on this roster basically since...at least Mack Brown. Maybe better than him. Our defensive line is chock full of 3 stars, and they're playing like fucking monsters. Sweat, Murphy, Sorrell. And the asccension has been visible year over year. When was the last time we saw that from players that basically weren't just self-starters like Brian Orakpo and Colt McCoy?
We're seeing linebackers develop. Ford was a 3 star, and now we see Gbenda improving. Our DBs are a factory of fucking studs, for fucks sake Michael Taffe is out there making plays. The only motherfucker who isn't deloping is Kitan Crawford, and apparently he's immune to learning, not out of ego or laziness, but an actual psycholgical disorder. We were worried about Finkley and Tapp having low ceilings or high bust rates, and low and behold those motherfuckers are out there every week looking better and better. I'd have liked to see us sign more guys on the DL to date this class, but shit, I'm a lot fucking less worried about getting the most of the guys that get here. Wait until the baseline is a bunch of 4 star talent to work with. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit.gif2 hours ago, SydneyCarton said:Funny, my kneejerk is the exact opposite. Dude redshirted after getting kicked off his team his senior year and we stuck with him. He grumbled and grouched as he adjusted to college ball, but now he's out there getting snaps as a redshirt freshman, and he's making plays. And he's out there with maximum effort delivering hits on special teams, which doesn't scream "Fuck this team, fuck this culture" to me. If Brooks does boogie, I have a hard time with Blue heading to the portal no matter what. He's looking good.
You keep talking about culture and development and I really don’t see where you’re going with this.

Given their allocation of "NIL" funds, it's clear he values dline.
The only thing I can come up with about clearly undervaluing oline is that he believes his scheme can work without superstar oline.
If there's anything Jimbo has proven in his time at aggy, it's a stubborn belief that his scheme is what they need to win despite ample evidence to the contrary.
It just feels like the guy has tunnel vision on everything with his offense outside of that cheesecake factory menu playbook.
It’s not a scheme issue, it’s that they legitimately try an build their roster around message board circle jerks and media buzzwords. They are obsessed with things like the SEC being a LoS league and how you need a elite D lines to compete for championships. So they dump all their resources into certain positions and let other positions atrophy, elite D lines and WR, but dog shit O lines and DB cripple them. They’re the football equivalent of the Russian military, dump all your money and resources into building a stupid amount of tanks and artillery but completely neglect your fuel and ammo logistics. On paper you have an unstoppable force but in reality you have a force the opponents can pick apart and stall out.

When we return to grass, we should also do some extra iconic landscaping around the field like they do in the SEC. But instead of hedges, I was thinking cactus? You don’t go into Austin, TX and get a win between the cacti, etc.
Or maybe instead of grass, we should zero scape the field? Creative juices are flowing.
Hell let’s just plant a whole brush country garden going, huisache, mesquite, black brush, cat claw, prickly pear, devils crown, yucca, pencil cactus. All sponsored by Game Guard.

I fucking love this staff’s eval on Burke, he’s one of those low 4 star white dudes that we would have passed over only for him to go to the Big 10 and be an all American at some place like Iowa, Michigan or Wisconsin.

Texas 13
Bama 27
The blue print to beat the offense is crystal clear, Texas has a successful opening drive to take the lead, defense stone walls Bama and we are feeling good. Texas O comes out, Bama starts showing false fronts pass protection breaks down Ewers take some brutal hits trying to take deep shots and he starts seeing ghosts. Sailing deep balls throwing, into double coverage no push from the line and the Texas offense stalls out. Defense is able to get two takeaways from Milroe in Bama territory but we only get 6 points of them. It’s 10-14 going into the half but the defense gets worn out in the second half and Bama pulls away.

Seriously you guys should have YouTube TV, unless you need some seriously esoteric shit it will have you covered and you can stream it from you iPad or iPhone where ever you go. Also if you an absolutely degenerate gambler YTTV has an excellent multiplayer with 4 different simulcasts for 70 bucks a month.

This. Mitch's fallacy is he thinks the transfer portal only goes in one direction.
Didn't TCU get two players from Alabama this past year?
Tech's starting QB came from Oregon, and Tyree Wilson (#8 overall NFL pick this past Spring) transferred to Tech from A&M as a preferred walk-on. That's right. A scholarship player at an SEC school transferred to Tech as a walk-on his first semester, and ended up being a #1 draft pick.
Bad example, TCU is picking up the trash and scraps from Bama, the blue chip recruits transferring down have so far all been universal busts. It’s the laterals and kids coming up a level that seem to be playing out.

I've been watching Saban's pressers the past few weeks for clues and he doesn't seem panicked or worried in the least.
Having said that I bet he's a helluva poker player. Who knows what he really thinks about this years Tide. That or he’s so convinced of his own brilliance that he thinks he can just will things into existence.

Mo Bamba came out when Mo was enrolled at Texas and the fact Texas didn’t lean into that hard leaves me zero faith DKR will ever have anything other cringe upper middle class white music.

Nebraska got lucky with Matt Rhule falling into their lap. Was hoping he could be the successor to Sark if we are unable to convince Urban to come out of retirement.
This boards cuckish obsession with under dog coaches is obnoxious. Rhule is very much a Leach, Gundy, Patterson style coach they only work if they are the underdog, their whole shtick doesn’t work at a top tier program with elite recruiting. Rhule would be a disaster at Texas and Nebraska hiring him is them waving the flag of being a permanent 9-3 10-2 team that will never challenge the OSU/UM/PSU B1G contenders.

Didn't the OU Gundy get fired for saying the n-word? I would say Venables 1st staff was a fucking disaster on the same level as Strong.
The entire Dabo coaching tree is a disaster, Chad Morris, Jeff Scott, Tony Elliot and Venables. These are Charlie Strong or worse performances, Dabo and the Clemson cult are a one off and anyone trying replicate it are in for program breaking experience.

Pretty sure these antics are for show and intended to talk up the strength of the remaining members, but goddamn if the Big 12 hasn’t laid the table for accusations of bias if Texas ends up losing a game due to officiatingThe league office has now publicly (twice) put it subconsciously into the Big12 refs heads what they must do, even the ones who aren't corrupt or incompetent. We're going to have to play near perfect and make it obvious to everyone with eyes the officiating is biased...we won't get any close calls going our way.
This stupid fuck running his mouth may have just saved our ass now the media is going to be watching Big 12 officiating with Texas and OU. In perfect Big 12 fashion in an attempt to flex their little dicks they may have royally fuck themselves as they now have brought into question the validity of Big 12 competition.

Working on our shitty red zone offense with the 1’s is more important than garbage time reps for arch. Maalik needs every single rep with the ones in a game like this because he is absolutely going to get thrown into the fire next week, and one or two garbage time series with arch isn’t going to help when any games going forward.
