If Petrino is an ambitious and immoral tactician, better equipped at this stage in his career to bully midgets than to slay giants, it is just possible he has a coup already schemed up. That would be a real shame.

I highly doubt this, in order for Petrino to pull off a coup he would need to be wooing some power players at A&M and thus we would be hearing some buzz around Petrino with shotS being  taken at Jimbo from the Aggie media. As @closetojumping pointed out the silence from the propaganda ministry is deafening and it looks more like it’s March 1945 for the Jimbo regime and the Aggie faithful.

average to mediocre.  It's the Applebee's of higher education.  The Chili's of athletics.  Nothing horrible, just that they are so goddamn content to just be in the middle.

Bruh what part of A&M athletics compares to the  greatness of Chili’s southwest egg rolls and big mouth bites?

  3. Is it just me or is there a lot of fans, media and even administrators who based on some of the things they say have talked themselves into the belief that the B1G and SEC aren’t sustainable and that they will be a reckoning and they big 2 will collapse and UT,OU, A&M, USC, UCLA will come crawling back and Networks will have lost their investments? Like I definitely understand that belief for college athletics as a whole, but the idea that the Pac 12, ACC will put last the B1G/SEC even in a meager form is just laughable able to me.

  4. Utah uses the Big 12 program blueprint to beat the shit out of PAC 12 programs that don’t give a shit with only UO, UW and USC being programs they need to actively try to knock off. They are a high floor low ceiling program just like all the programs in the Big 12, they are afraid of  having a week in week our dog fight against teams like, OSU, TCU, Baylor, K state, UC, UCF etc instead of having 5 free wins from dead beat Pac 12 programs like Cal, Stanford, UCLA, Colorado, Arizona etc.

They are making noise for something, and it isn't to try and bully the ACC into more money.  The ACC schools are well aware FSU is tied to them for 13 years, if they like it not not.  Just like they are aware that FSU will bolt after if there is an opening somewhere for them, no matter how unequal the revenue they get.  So why give them more of the pie now when they are leaving anyways.  The ACC can't give Clemson and FSU (and UNC.. ECT) enough money to get them within the same universe as the power two, and those schools aren't wanting Big 12 money either.

I feel there's more to the story  than just noise..

You don’t make noise if you have the leverage. Remember how the Big 12 and Bowlsby howled to the media and anyone who would listen while Texas/OU/SEC sat silently.

I guess I just don’t understand the exit fee structure at all.  Can someone answer what UT’s total contractual payout owed is under these 2 scenarios?

    1. We leave for SEC today.

2 We leave for SEC in 2025.

Does it drop from 80 mil to zero or is there still a payout of some type in 2025?  In other words in 18 months of media revenue forfeited regardless or only if we leave before 2025?

We leave in 2025, we forfeit 2 years of conference payouts and leave with out an exit penalty.

We leave in 2024, we forfeit 2023 conference payouts, we owe the Big 12 our conference payouts for 2024z

Do agree that maybe us and ou didn’t anticipate this.  Precedent was everyone else got to leave early so why not us?

Aggy royally fucked up a master play by Sankey and the SEC. The original plan was to expand and renew the playoffs in 2021-2022 with ESPN and announce UT OU to the SEC in 2023 for a clean break in 2025 from the big 12. Aggy blew the plan up by leaking OUT early hoping to kill the move and now we have been left scrambling.

That would also fuck Michigan. Honestly you people ascribe way to much power to Texas with these stupid scenarios you dream up. We're Texas and we're stuck here until 2025 unless we're willing to part with way more money and we are never willing to part with more money. The powers that be don't give a fuck if we're in the SEC in 24 or 25.

That’s Michigan’s and Fox problem, not Texas’s and the powers that be absolutely want OUT in the SEC/ESPN in 2024, to counter USC/UCLA in the Big 10/FOX. If you think there is some honesty  and good sportsmanship here I got some ocean front property to sell you.

I'm talking if we stay throught 2025. Not if we exit.

We still don’t get it, the exit penalty for leaving the Big 12 is the loss of 2 years of conference payouts, Texas must inform the Big 12 that they intended to leave which they will do this summer if they can’t come to an early exit agreement, at which point the Big12 will with hold conference payouts.

What am I missing?  Why would the B12 be "ready to end this". From the B12's point of view, isn't it better the longer we're here?

No, all Texas and OU do is spoil the Big12 at this point.  Imagine  a UT vs OU Big 12 title game the entire narrative is going to be solely about OUT and the SEC the big 12 will be an afterthought.

Michigan comes to Austin in 2024. I wonder if that was required by Fox as a game they get for us to leave. I could see ABC wanting that game if they got first choice.

What are the penalties on canceling a home and home? Texas could really fuck Fox, play UM at DKR on ABC and then cancel the return trip to UM in 2026 so Fox gets nothing.

Owens had actually first called Jimbo Fisher that day to commit to the Aggies. However, Fisher was not able to answer his phone at the time for one reason or another. Owens waited a little bit but had decided he wanted to commit that day so, when he could not get in touch with Fisher, he called Texas and committed to the Longhorns.

They do realize that this makes both Jimbo and Owens look incredibly fucking dumb? Of course not.

Help me to understand Fox’s leverage here. They have a signed contract. We break our contract. Fox sues us. We settle. What am I missing?

That absolute fuck load of money Texas would owe and the legal limbo Texas’s media rights would go into which would be a problem for the SEC and ESPN.

Teaching is no joke. I've caught kids snorting coke off the restroom sink, sparking j's in same restroom (my classroom is right across from said restroom)vapes all over the place, and social media... Fuck. And that's just middle school. These idiots would be like how do you know it's weed? Bitch please, jester east motherfucker!

In middle school a kid fell out of the drop ceiling on to my English teachers desk in the middle of class, turns out the drug dogs had showed up and he threw his baggy in the ceiling in the bathroom next door and fell through trying to get it back later. Then there was the infamous emo girl chicken burger incident.
