"Deserve", lol. No one put a gun to Sark's head and forced him to lose to Kansas.

In September you and the rest of the sunshine-pumping crowd kept claiming that recruits were smart enough to not care about wins and losses because they were focused on the 'long-term' vision of the program. Well, now those same recruits want nothing to do with us. The conclusion is obvious.

We lost all momentum with the 5-7 finish.  If we could have flipped that to 7-5 he could have sold "the roster sucks, but we still won 7 and I am going to purge the deadweight."  He can gain momentum next year by purging the roster and finishing with 7 or more wins.  Six or fewer we might as well fire him.

I don't blame anyone for being turned off either by the product on the field or the new atmosphere for college athletics.

    I get that.

I do think Xavier Worthy played his guts out for us this year and if you want to reward an actual hard-working bright spot you can donate to his award in the NIL forum.

    Hook'em.

Link? Or is this the forum that has limited access?

I know it's not preferred but have we considered a 2 QB system?

Casey can handle pre-snap checks and generally controlling the offense with a focus on his mobility and intermediate throws. But then whenever he sees someone running open deep he can hand the ball to Hudson to make the throw

Good plan!  Card was super accurate on the deep balls against Arkansas!

I was not worried about the NCAA. My concern was someone going rogue and running amok with federal and state laws. The NIL, as I understand it, is meant for businesses to pay players for their image, name and likeness. I don't know how setting up a new venture to collect donations from fans fit into that. If you're selling UT merchandise with player's autographs, would Co-op and others like UT athletics have problem with it? Lastly, it seemed like a lot of effort for someone to do it on a part time basis for a long period of time. Personally, I prefer simplicity but that's just me being lazy. :)

How did you convince anybody to invest in a venture that you are in charge of?

  5. Adidas/UA would love it if Phil Knight used Nike to get NIL contracts for Oregon players that aren't national stars.  You think all the Nike schools would stick with them for uniforms/merch if Nike was giving Oregon such an advantage?  It's one thing to build facilities using Knights wealth, it's another to pay players (legally or illegally). That's why shareholders and the execs/board would never go along with it.  It would cause a loss in revenue for the company.

McKinney North WR JJ Henry has all the intangibles too
    STEVE WILTFONG

McKinney (Texas) North 2021 receiver JJ Henry had a big junior season, turning 71 receptions into 1,419 yards and 16 touchdowns in what was a breakout campaign.

That production turned into 20-plus scholarship offers as things stand now.

"Texas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Louisville, and Florida State have been pushing the hardest," a source at the school told 247Sports.

That same source raved about the 5-foot-10, 165-pound as a person and player.

"I love his competitiveness," Henry said. "He is relentless in the pursuit to be the best. He works his butt off and won’t stop until he’s at the top.

"He’s a phenomenal route runner and makes the team around him better when he performs."

Is Wiltfong's source JJ Henry and did he just compliment himself in the third person?

The revenue largely comes from the name on the front of the jersey, not the back.

So if we stopped getting top flight players and cease to be ever be a competitive football team, it's your position that the revenue would continue at the same level?

So telling them how to act or else.

That's essentially how any interaction in society works.  Those with power dictate terms.  Your employer tells you how to act.  Whether they have enough power to make their demands is the deciding factor if something happens.  Since the players bring in a lot of revenue, I'm going to guess that almost all the demands will be met.  Also who is the "them" they telling how to act?  I doubt CDC or Hartzell give a shit about keeping anything the same.

Am I not paying attention?   That seems like telling someone how to act.

They are giving them a choice.  The administration can choose to go whichever way they want, but there are consequences to the decision.

It’s also absurd for 18-20 year olds to be bitching about massive organizations not making changes fast enough for their liking while the changes are being worked on, and it’s fair to be annoyed at said 18-20 years for bitching about it

Actually it would be absurd if they were 40 yr olds.  18-20 yr olds probably don't understand what needs to happen to get these things done and if history is any guide they are being wary of those in charge offering platitudes to appease them while hoping this will blow over.

I’m not sure if this is a valid question, or where the proper forum is, but is it prudent to let 18-22 year old people dictate policy?

or rather should they be asking the questions and giving their perspective and then we as a whole take up the conversation?

we've all been 20 and thought we knew it all.

I'd say when it comes to the issues of equality and justice.  I'd generally pick the 18-22 year olds position over the rich white old donors.

  12. So I am bad at math.  Also just looking at elite speed WRs he does not compare favorably at the 200m.  ~4 secs behind Tyreek Hill, Randy Moss, etc... vs their hs 200m .  Not expecting him to be comparable but brings it into better focus for myself.  So we are hoping he is crisp at routes and a good possession receiver.

  13. His 200m time converted to 40 yd dash would be sub 4.4.  does it just take him a while to accelerate but he has extremely high end speed when he gets to it?  Or am I bad at math?

If you fuck up free rides at both Notre Dame and Florida State because you can’t follow rules and get your shit together, you’re a fucking idiot.

    1.  First thing he did was beat the shit out of a racist who was messing with his friend.  Second was weed, not necessarily things that make you dumb at 18.

    2.  Maybe he was playing 4d chess because either of those colleges had shitty QBs at the time while Marshall had Chad Pennington

Surly believes in cultivating new talent for the recruiting board since 90% are close to end of life.  Unfortunately the ramp is pretty tough on legacy posters but don't worry the new guys will turn into hardened assholes in no time and everyone can go back to questioning the character and decisions of 18 yr olds.

“It wasn’t football for Zachary,” Sterling said. “It’s really still not. He’s really good at it, but football is just not him. He don’t watch football. He don’t talk about football. None of that. I won’t say it’s not something he doesn’t want to do, because of course he wants to do it. But he just wasn’t attracted to it. It just didn’t catch his attention.”

Obviously Evans is an incredible talent and he will be a star in college no matter what.  I find it hard to believe that he will be very successful in the pros.

Curtis Martin wasn't a very big football fan either.  He was able to look at it like a very high paying job.
