The TE is still an overlooked position in all of CFB. Obviously not to sark. I say keep it at the TE and it’s still a cool differentiator. If you’re talking pivoting to another sport, like softball or volleyball, well ok. Let’s do it.
but I don’t think you can let this fucking braintrust of reprobates have a dinner with any of our female athletes.
Let's not forget Women's soccer where I think we could make a real difference. Agree on the dinner part although it would be cool if I could bring my daughter to something with the athletes. Although the female teams tend to be pretty easy to get your kids in front of anyway.

There are reasons to not like Cherundolo if he's the hire he's anything but an "MLS guy." He spent 20+ years playing and coaching in Germany and only started coaching domestically in 2021.
He coached youth academies in Germany. I want someone who has coached and had success against the best players/coaches in the world. He doesn't have that.

If we go with an MLS guy, the world cup will be a bomb. On the bright side, I can focus my spending that year on the best games rather than chasing the US games.
Klopp turned us down so now:
Low, Vieira, Terzic, Tuchel, Pochettino, Potter and many more should be called before we talk to Nancy/Cherondulo/whoever from the MLS.
In regards to pay, the US can pay $2 mil. Nike plus whoever can sign a sponsorship agreements for $18 mil and that solves the problem.

The only power 4 caliber PF/C options still in the portal are Trevon Brazile and Coleman Hawkins, both 6'10 PFs. Coleman is a scorer and Brazile hasn't been fully healthy in awhile.
Hawkins is likely to Arkansas, but idk anything about Coleman's portal recruitment.
Too bad we didn't get in on Ven-Allen Lubin who committed to UNC today
I am extremely confused here. The first sentence makes it seem like Coleman Hawkins is one dude. The 3rd sentence turns him into 2 people?

Williams bitched out on attending IMG, right? Ball hasn’t been good at football since the mid-1990’s, the Casey Hampton years.
Turning down IMG to stay at Ball is a red flag. He should want to be developed and compete against the best.
IMG is certainly not for everyone. Some families don't want their kid going to Florida for school as they want to spend high school together. In fact in another sport, I had a coach who used to coach there tell me it was a waste of time. Football is obviously different then the sport I am referring to and it has more of a prestige level in football.

Everyone knows that endorsement deals don't apply to salary caps in pro sports, right? So how would a salary cap change anything?

I’m not going to lie I’m impressed at the suffocation of this alleged assault. Usually Sooners sucker punch girls or beat the shit out of teammates. They are really thinking outside of the box of peanuts on this one. Well done sooner. Well done.
It's been pretty well known about out here for awhile. Very surprised @billfromlaketravis didn't know about it. Not surprised that LTISD did nothing about it.

I mean things are easier when you have Derrick Henry and AJ Brown
That is probably balanced out by their QB.

it’s likely we do lose some players in the 5 day window for playoff teams. So again, wtf point are you trying to make? I made it clear it's not about those 3 specific players but rather the example they set for someone who is quality depth and may compete for a starting job thinking they can hop in the portal and have Bama, Georgia, tOSU etc hitting them up with offers. Hell even Maalik is finding slim pickings with landing spots now and he was once considered to be one of the most coveted portal QB's.
I think the point is that these guys weren't competing for jobs or quality depth. Players that are competing for jobs and are quality depth who transfer will get better offers than these so no lesson learned.

No, but this means pensions, unionized wage negotiations, medical coverage, and tax liability for the schools. This would open up a whole new can of costs. Who knows what other implications come from this?
I don't believe any of these unions have any say over the Name Image and Likeness deals athletes get? I also don't believe that because I have no clue. I assumed the only NIL funding the unions cover are for entire union being in a video game, but I believe players can opt out of those if they wish. NIL isn't schools paying players to play football so I think the unions are going to have a tough time getting a piece of this.

Arian Foster was playing like an all pro RB until he became a vegan. Subsequently, he battled nagging injuries and played like crap. The only variable that changed was Foster’s diet. Not a fan.
Dude was Vegan for like 3 months.

I’m calling it…Kobe Black as their WTF/out-of-the-blue commit this year.
Did that 5 star WR not count? I don't think he was even on any of the sites' radars for A&M...

It's hard to create an accurate list on stuff like that, but just glancing, Peter Thiel isn't listed and he easily eclipses Cook. I'm sure there are others if it was relevant to think through.
I've always thought Geffen claimed his alumni status with Texas. Is that not true? I know Texas has claimed him over the years.
Thiel is #4 on the list, but yes the list is probably not very accurate and missing others.

You’re an absolute schmuck for going to bat for ufc lol
They let their heavyweight champion walk cause he they wouldn’t pay and he will get paid twice as much for a boxing match than his last ufc contract.I think you have reading comprehension issues. I am clearly stating in all of my posts that boxing is a better route to go.

I'm a pro-labor guy, but even for a throw away event, first fight contractual fighters in the UFC make something like $12,000 to show, additional $12,000 for a win, and potentially a $50,000 performance bonus. 'Boxing' doesn't pay that.
Carry on.
No Boxing doesn't pay that. UFC is the pinnacle of MMA. They have about 600 fighters under contract at any given time. Roughly 40% of those make 6 figures a year (250). No top 250 list for boxers, but the #99 boxer makes about 200k a fight and #100 (fights in more popular weight class) made 500k in his last fight. I'd be surprised if the #250 ranked boxer made less than the #250 ranked UFC fighter. Might be possible, but doubtful. Yes if you compare a first time UFC fighter to a first time boxer the UFC fighter would make more, but that is likely not the first pro fight that MMA fighter has fought. If anything an MMA fighter on the way up and a boxer on the way up earn about the same. Once they start getting on PPVs, etc... the boxers earning potential is way more.

Full disclosure - I’d read the part about chicken fried steak.
And if you’re not going to plowmans kitchen in Taylor for chicken fried steak you’re doing it wrong.Good to hear! Mark Plowman was a boss of mine when i used to bartend at Chuy's. Nicest guy on the planet and has amazing stories. Been trying to get out there but havent been able to.

I fail to understand how the coaching situation at Paetow is going to effect Hicks final decision? I know his dad is interim coach, but if his dad is dictating where his kid is going due to some bullshit going on with his job, then he is the shittiest parent ever. Why does Paetow admin care if he is at A&M, OU or UT?
