If we take a TE in the portal, it would likely be a blocking-first TE, not someone like Gumms. I doubt we even pursued.

A) wtf
B) Lincoln definitely took the graphics guy with him. How do you make something this simple look so janky?
Punts earning points is very on-brand for these fucks

Minchey listed as the starter tomorrow. If he looks good for 3 innings, I hope they shut him down and prepare him to be available out of the bullpen this weekend on Saturday/Sunday.
Here's the starter for ACU: https://acusports.com/sports/baseball/roster/blake-anderson/9525
hahaha they have the dude from workaholics pitching for them?

Then ATM showed up for the 2022 class and went McKinley Jackson on the whole fucking list. They moved the whole bag game up several levels. They also didn't understand the future. Saban did, but didn't like his outlook. He went on the offensive with his whining about NIL and the portal but it's been mostly a fucking joke given his complete hypocrisy. Dabo Swinney has done the same bullshit.
Day and Smart just went out asking for as much money as possible. Oregon built a death star. We focused on setting and endowing a floor and invented the layer cake + charity model. USC raised for the portal, as did Ole Miss. Arkansas is following Oregon's model but they're Arkansas. Notre Dame, OU, Michigan, Tech and others are following UT's suit. It will all get there at Texas.
Is ATM sticking with their bag game and trying to cover it up by slapping a shiny "NIL" logo on it? Or are they actually starting to adjust now that they might sort of understand how this landscape is evolving? Obviously we saw how last cycle worked out for them, so I guess I'm not sure if that happened because they spent it all in '22 or if they were just behind on actual NIL and were trying to get the tires rolling mid cycle last season.

I would love to have Bear. He is an obvious upgrade. He would allow Texas to have a 4 man rotation at DT of future draft picks. That said he is the epitome of a luxury pick-up. DT is arguably the best position on the team. It is also on the verge of becoming a question mark next year. The staff needs to develop some of the young guys this year or they will be forced to hit the portal hard at DT next year. You could have Collins, Murphy, Sweat leave after this season. Bear would most likely be a 1 and done. He would also make it harder to get the young guys needed snaps this year. Bear would be a move you make, if you are looking for a title run this year. I dont think Texas is at that point and everything Sark has done the first 2 years has been with a focus for the future.
He was a true freshman last year. He won't be able to leave after the 2023 season.

With no Thompson and Red moving to RB, we don't have any WRs left from that 2022 class. Not worried about it, just interesting to see.

Lack of talk on Pierce makes me think this one won't be us, but I don't have any info on it

We're on page 54 and close to the summer. We're not sniffing 1000 without conversations like this, let alone 500. Step it the fuck up guys.

Guessing this one isn't on TV? LHN has a replay of a volleyball game vs Baylor on.

This one is pretty sweet and reminds me of a shirt I had as a kid, but it's steep at $130.
I like that shirt but the size chart looks weird. I'm usually a medium, but the chart for medium has a 48" chest?!
Seems like they have different cuts/fits. "Classic" runs oversized (I guess like hawaiian shirts should run?), "Tailored" and "Rayon" seem to run more true to size, but not sure if there are any Texas ones in those fits.

FYI
Howe thinks it's happening.
Gerry said earlier he knows who he expects it to be and said he thinks it's a home run hire. I'd assume this is who he knew it'd be.

Abmas, USC kid, Shedrick, Rice kid.
Sounds like we've made contact with Cryer too. Would absolutely be a take if we can get him to play defense.

Jimbo trying to make the hillbilly Belichick look happen
Another article of clothing with the box T like our baseball team uses. You'd have to be right in front of him to tell that was an aggy hoodie.

Gerry just mentioned that he talked to someone he trusts who said they'd be shocked if Gibson doesn't pick Texas

From what I’ve read on Reddit, the expectation is Abmas is going to Wichita unless he thinks he has legit pro prospects and might want to prove it at the P5 level. And if the 💰is big enough
Would make sense to want to follow his coach, but it might be hard to ignore if a blue blood or a program like Texas comes calling to say "come be our leading scorer, get PAID, and get a lot more exposure here compared to Wichita" (and in our case, be much closer to home). I would think with the right pitch, it's possible we could land him.
-
I would guess we'd go for one of Abmas, Olivari and Love. I would probably prefer Olivari or Abmas (not sure if we are pursuing those two but Gerry did report we are in contact with Love).

Can he really defend though? I don't picture a solid defender when I think of him. Maybe I'm wrong. If I'm Terry, at least one thing I continue from Beard' approach is the mantra that you don't come here if you don't defend.
33 minutes ago, Hornlover said:He shot 42% from 3 this year. It was only 3 per game, but if you want an "instant offense off the bench" kinda guy, he fits the bill.
Right, I don't think I picture him as a great defender, but you can get away with putting him on the opponent's worst offensive player and have him knock down shots. He did it in big moments this year for them and was a good spark off the bench. Not Rice good (and obviously different positions) coming off the bench, but a great shooter nonetheless. You could be spot on that we don't go after him because he doesn't play a ton of defense, I really don't know. But I do know he can stretch the floor.
