  1. Looks like any preseason goals this team had have all gone up in smoke today. Baylor up next and that might be the end of any hope that's left.
  2. My fear is that it would bolster pay for play. Not saying it doesn't already exist in some quarters but saying it would/could make it more prominent.
  3. You are a really horrible obvious troll. Try harder. Troll? How about I just kick your ass? You're a horrible obvious dumb ass.
  4. Wow! I'm starting to feel impressed. Any other championships you can remember?
  5. That's too bad. I can't believe Saban would tolerate that kind of behavior on his staff but as long as Sark is calling a good game plan and Bama winning then Saban will probably tolerate a whole lot more than Sark being drunk. Now I know why that former DC at OU (Mike Stoopid) joined Saban's band of merry advisers.
  6. When was the last one in football? I don't care about women's tennis.
  7. Who would have thought the day would come when UT would be an underdog to Iowa State? Seems Vegas doesn't have much confidence in this team. I watched them play OU and didn't think they were near as good as the score indicated. OU simply fell flat after halftime but should have been a blowout win for OU and blowout loss for ISU. So I really don't know what this is saying about the perception of UT. This has been a weird year.
  8. That's all true and sad in a way too. At my age and probably many others here we don't have time to sit back and wait for a nice stable athletic department to emerge from the pillar of smoke and ashes. Winning now is all I care about and have time for.
  9. A thought might be to reach out into the previous coaching trees and see if there's a name that surfaces. Not sure if the guy would be a quality hire for a HC again but I'm wondering if S. Sarkesian has learned his lesson?
  10. Exactly! That's what I've been saying but not coming out well enough for others to understand. The OU guy was trying to hold position (holding off the KSU player on his backside) but got pushed into the path of the ball. Had that not happened the ball most likely would have continued on in it's original path. No way of knowing which team would have covered it.
  11. Trying to be open minded and neutral towards both teams and the fact I don't have a bone in that game and after watching the reply until it almost blinded me there is no proof that the ball hit the OU player. Yes the ball hit someone and it appeared to be the OU player it hit but no way can the booth know for sure. OJ was innocent because they couldn't show proof he was guilty. The same applies here. It is very obvious the OU player was trying to keep clear of the ball but was pushed into it's path. The booth didn't look at it as a block in the back by the kicking team which in turn caused contact with the ball by and OU player before the ball traveled a full 10 yards. That's not how you and a few others here want to see it but that's what the film shows us.
  12. The OU guy couldn't have been going for the ball because the KSU guy was shoving him into the path the ball traveled. I saw the play and haves seen the replay half a dozen times. In fact it looked like the OU guy was actually trying to hold back on the ball to allow it to travel the necessary yardage but when being shoved in the back (a foul?) he was pushed into it's path. He wouldn't have touched it had it not have been for getting pushed into it.
  13. No that's been part of the program. Big pay checks to hire on but no real earned dividends. Only now is OU's coach getting near what Stoops was getting but OU has been winning the conference almost yearly and been playing in the Final 4. What has Strong and now Herman done for UT to earn more than that Riley guy? Does more money buy wins and conference titles? No. Rather than have the pay me $5 mil first and I'll do want I can to earn it that's not what most programs do. They hire in for less and if that coach is working harder and winning big games and conference championships it's then he gets raises. Finding a good coach isn't as hard as you want to make it out to be because UT has the dollars to be attractive to most any of the lesser programs but they want to only look at the Sabans because their belief is that he'd automatically do for UT what he's been doing for Alabama. Tom seemed to be a good pick but so far it's been closer to a failed project than a successful worthwhile hire. Maybe Tom will improve on his coaching as the years pass and eventually gets over the hump.
  14. The northwest is a beautiful part of the country. Lots of nice scenery and the pics of the cheerleaders prove it.
  15. That is Mike P's opinion but look closely and see the KSU push the OU player in the back and into the oncoming ball. Did the OU player initiate the block? NO. He was pushed in the back so how is that initiating anything? Had that happened at DKR it would have been Horns ball. Had it happened at OU it would have been OU ball. Had it happened at Kstate...well yeah it did and yeah it was Kstate ball.
  16. I know I'm going to get negs for saying things others don't want to hear or believe but I'm tired of the sugar coating and trying to find excuses for losing and/or not being competitive for the cc. What more has to happen? If other programs can make good hires for less money then why can't UT do better?
  17. Shop around and look for one. I'm sure there are others more qualified and would probably take the job for less than what the previous losers were/are paid. The Kstate coach looks pretty darn good. The Baylor coach, the ISU coach, and the OU coach ALL look better than the bunch in Austin. I like the Penn State guy but for sure there are better than this last run of non-qualifiers.
  18. I saw the game with neutral eyes and I didn't see your win over OU the same way you saw it. They screwed up over and over again and left KSU in the game to which it bit them in the butt like a big dog. Yes there were lots of good plays by KSU but there were equally pitiful plays by OU. KSU cashed in on OU mistakes. Even at the end of the 4th on the on sides kick KSU got the break although that was a bad call by the booth ref. What did he see on replay that the field refs missed? The OU player that the ball touched was blocked into the ball by a KSU player, plus the OU wasn't going for the ball. The on field refs made the right call. Unless the review was compelling enough to overturn it then it continues to stand as called on the field. Doesn't matter though. Game over. Kstate is well coached and that's the team's strength, not their offense or defense.
  19. Fact: Anyone who even remotely thought Charlie was going to be a good hire is an idiot of big proportion. Why Charlie? What was so unique about him that appealed to anyone with a f-ing brain? Fact: Anyone who even remotely thought Tom was going to take UT to the Final 4 is also an idiot of big proportion. What is his curb appeal? When I see posters claiming "Texas is back!" I just laugh at their blind ignorance.
  20. Baylor could definitely pose a problem. KSU is another potential problem. Istate and TT don't worry me much but then again neither did TCU. So I pose the simple question of who.
  21. Obviously my mistake. Wasn't paying attention. But now that you've read my post what do you think about these last 4 games? How many wins, how many losses, and if any losses to who?
  22. 4 games left. 1 home game 3 away games. How many wins and losses? I say if UT loses to KSU the season is over and the rest don't really matter except to decide what bowl game. However there are other remaining games that could seal this team's fate. The reason I pointed to the KSU game is because a loss at home right now will deflate this team and I really don't think they would recover from it. Not much to be motivated for after that.
  23. Maybe they studied film and figured out the offense's tendencies. That would be my guess. KSU did the same thing to them. Plus the team has been playing hurt and short handed.
