  1.  a bit more positive press...

Saints' rookie WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey feeling at home in Dome, but plenty more work to do

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome has been good to Lil'Jordan Humphrey so far this year.

The Saints' undrafted rookie receiver has played in the building twice.

The first time was in January when Texas played Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.

The second time was Friday night when he made his NFL debut in the Saints' preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

...But will the undrafted rookie receiver be able to make the Dome a permanent home by finding his way on the Saints' 53-man roster?

That remains to be seen, especially on a roster deep at receiver.

Humphrey made his 6-foot-4, 220-pound presence known in Friday's 34-25 loss though, especially on his 33-yard touchdown reception in the

fourth quarter. Lining up as the inside slot receiver, Humphrey reeled in a pass from Taysom HIll in the middle of the field at the 19-yard line,

eluded a defender at the 10 and stiff-armed Vikings' defensive back Marcus Epps at the 5 to score for the first time as a pro.

How are you finding it as compared to just oil? I picked up a vape pen of CBD the other day, just to give it a shot. The oil wasn't really doing much, but then again, it gets filtered through the liver where a vape won't. I'm hoping it can take the edge off the arthritis during the day so I don't need "other things." Of course that may become a moot point by the end of the year, when medical kicks in and the dispensaries open.

I may be off on my terminology, but when I made my initial post, I was commenting on using CBD in an PG/VG oil base.  The bottle has 600 mg of CBD in it.  It was a smooth draw.  A couple  of months later, I bought a bottle that has 750 mg of CBD but the base is much less viscous than the previous bottle.  Also had to turn down the setting on the battery quite a bit and it’s a little harsher draw.

As far as effect,  I’m not consuming the recommended daily dosage, so I’m not the best person to ask.  I usually only take a couple of hits in the evening.  I do think it helps me sleep a little bit better, and I do think it has some non- narcotic pain relief when I use it more than my average daily use.

    BAD DROPS

Perhaps it was the very humid conditions or maybe a lack of focus, but rookie wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey had two noticeable drops of catchable passes during practice. Both appeared to hit him right in the hands, but Humphrey couldn’t haul either of them in.

While it is still early in training camp, dropped passes won’t help the rookie’s cause as he battles for a roster spot, especially if he continues to put catchable balls on the ground.

Link? Or is this just what Boudreaux told you on the Buddy D show?

    Loser: Lil’Jordan Humphrey, wide receiver

Humphrey hasn’t made much noise in a crowded room of wide receivers. It’s unfortunate, because he has one of the clearest projections of any of the new additions as a specialist who can line up in the slot and make tough catches in traffic, much like Marques Colston once made a living doing.

It’s frustrating to see because other young wideouts like Emmanuel Butler and Cyril Grayson have shown up right away. The silver lining here is that Humphrey isn’t really doing anything wrong. He’s not dropping passes, and he’s not running the wrong routes. He’s simply not making “wow” plays and doing anything memorable. He kind of looks like just another training camp body.

There’s still plenty of time for him to start making a difference, though. We’re only a week into practices and Humphrey should get plenty of looks in the preseason games. All he needs is to start stringing together good performances and showing off skills that nobody else has, which he did last year for the Texas Longhorns. It feels like he could flip a switch at any time and show the Saints plenty to like.

Thought one of the posters that was knowledgeable about the CFL said domestic violence is about the only thing, without prison time, that earns a league wide ban.

Johnny had some contractual obligations he had to fulfill when he joined the CFL, among them drug testing.  Was being tested for recreational drugs and Lithium IIRC.  Was supposed to be drug tested in the off season too.  Team officials couldn't get ahold of him at some point and he was incommunicado I believe.  I think Montreal tried to work with him but Johnny didn't want to play by their rules anymore.  Of course aggy says Johnny voided the contract intentionally so he could play in 'Merica.

so there’s been a lot of talk about sleep paralysis.  I’m pretty sure I’ve experienced it though it could have been a dream.  what causes it?  what’s going on physiologically when it happens?  what does it mean?

Basically, you are cognizant enough (in a dreamlike state) to know you're sleeping, but powerless to move.  You want to wake yourself up in the worst way, but can't.  You are in a highly agitated state.

I first noticed years ago taking a Sunday nap in front of the TV.  I could hear the golf tournament;  I knew where I was, and I knew that I was asleep.  I would envision/dream of trying to rock myself off the couch so that I would fall off and wake myself up.  But I was paralyzed...

    Weird, huh?
