Tugler going down is a big deal in taking out Dickinson.

Obviously I badly want Houston to lose, but this is giving me some legitimate hope that it's possible.

UH will run them. Kansas has nothing on the road. And its Senior Day, where UH will celebrate a ton of stuff. That game will be ugly. I also suspect that KSU will give yall everything you can handle in the Little Apple. Winning on the road is hard, then add in Senior Day and its usually a pretty rough day for road teams unless they are way better than the home team. Same thing for Rapelor at Tech.

Nobody besides Swaim has reported this and Swaim cites NO sources.

    It's bullshit.

If I were them, I'd jump on that shit ASAP. They don't want to be in a conference with Texas or Oklahoma, so go. And let Texas recruit here as the only SEC option in the state. Since they blew that advantage all those years, let them see how it looks to not have that option.

  3. That KU team is nothing to fear. I think UH, Baylor, and ISU are all better than them, even though they beat two of them already, UH and Baylor will do to them what Tech just did when they play them at home.

What I can't figure out is who in that middle group of Big 12 teams has the goods to make a run in the tournament. Maybe Tech or TCU? I don't see KU or Texas making any noise, nor do I see BYU doing anything. UH seems like the only serious title contender.

We shot poorly last night, got in foul trouble with our front court, and BYU is a team that's very good from 3 who was very good from 3.  I'm not even a little concerned.  This is a classic ISU team that terrorizes everyone in Hilton, will be lucky to win 2 Big 12 road games, and if they make a run in Kansas City could sneak up to a 4-6 seed at best.  Probably in the 7-10 range with the shit non-conference slate, and how far we get in the tournament will depend on the stylistic matchups of the team we draw.

History will tell us that ISU will run hard and win the Big 12 Tournament out of nowhere, then get into the first round as a trendy pick because they are hot and lose to some midmajor in the first round.

  5. A&M going from 5-7 to 7-5 was realistically about as good as they could ask for. But their fanbase rarely deals in reality. They were never going to beat Bama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, or LSU, and the games against Miami, Arky, and South Carolina were almost destined to provide at least one loss. Only games against OOC spares and MSU (Without Leach, who was their kryptonite) and Auburn were the probable wins. Going anything better than 7-5 seemed ridiculous from the start--and that was with Weigman being healthy all year.

That movie takes a lot of bagging these days, but the scenes where he meets his son for the first time and the scene where he places the envelope with MOM inscribed on the front at Jenny's gravesite just destroy me every time. First movie I ever cried in and it still does it to me to this day anytime I see it.

Yes, bring in SMU who hardly anyone in DFW even gives a shit about? You are not getting the Dallas TV market with them because no one here watches them. I guess if they're playing Notre Dame or Clemson, we might..if nothing else is on.

Yeah, I don't get the idea of anyone wanting SMU. Nobody cares about them outside of Highland Park. They don't draw flies to games at home unless they play a big named school or someone who cares about playing them (see North Texas). People have heard of them because they cheated better than anyone had at the time in the 80s, but really, nobody cares about them.

  8. Pony Excess was my favorite, but the best one was the Duke Lacrosse fiasco where justice prevailed. Mike Nifong tried his very best to play politics to stay in power and gain popularity, all the while not giving one care about the lives he was about to crush because of lies.

I did not like season 2 with the exception of a few scenes. Those are obvious.

Season 3 was good but the ending wasn’t good. Very anticlimactic.

Season 1 I own and will watch it a couple of times a year. Absolutely my favorite single season of a TV show.

    This...everything you posted is perfect.

The bottom line is exactly as I predicted weeks ago.  The potential negatives of not hiring Terry, are simply larger than any positive from any so-called big name hire.

    This.

The AAS and other media outlets were salivating at a controversy of not hiring a black man who took over a horrible situation from a white dude assaulting his lady and took them to the Elite Eight, only to be told he didn’t do enough and we hire some white dude.

Thats now this university’s leadership rolls. CDC had no choice, honestly. If it’s a disaster in 3 years, then you can move on.

  11. At a school that is as progressive as we are, I can't imagine Rodney Terry doesn't already have the job. CDC doesn't even want to face the backlash that the leadership at Belmont and the media frenzy will create if Terry doesn't get the job. Racism is just not something the university will accept--they will defer to the opposite, just to be sure it doesn't get hurled. If this was Tech or A&M, they'd not think one thing about it...but here, we wont.

Agreed, but KU wasn't playing for any seeding last year either.  I feel like OK State and WVU have the most to gain.  I think they're both in, and suspect they can improve their seeding with a good run that takes a scalp or two.

The way we were limping prior Saturday, I think that winning it would move us up a seed, but then again in 2019 we won the tourney after going 9-9 and it didn't change much.

I'm still convinced that ISU will make their run in KC and win the thing. Too many times that this has happened--and you guys have the home court advantage as the entire T-Mobile Center and P&L District turns red and gold. Looks like a McDonald's Seminar gone wild...

Nah man. CDC so far has made good decisions, when left to his own devices anyway. He won't do something knee-jerk like award RT the head coaching position for doing a decent job.

Granted if he does make it to the Sweet 16 I might start to come around to your way of thinking but let's see him do that first.

I'm just preparing myself for the kick in the junk that Ill feel if Rodney Terry is named permanent head coach, especially if the season ends in the second round.

I love Coach Boynton but the results just aren't there. I was ready to go all in a few weeks ago, and here we are. You just can't get blown out like that so many times in late February. This is a tough league but it can't be an excuse anymore. His X's and O's are good and our guys don't lack motivation or grit. Rebounding and defense are good. His recruiting on paper is fine. The problem that has been consistent is the guys he brings in can't make shots to save their lives. Our 3 point shooting has been atrocious, and now mid range shots are bricking like crazy, and even when we get to the rim I've never seen so many underneath put backs just roll off. I've been chalking it up to bad luck or bad situations or slumps but it has been consistent, year in and year out, we just can't make shots. And many of them are wide open, so the sets are good, and the guys are doing everything right except getting the goddamned ball to go through the hoop. Just clank after clank, brick after brick, often multiple times after successful offensive rebounds. It's been really, really hard for me to blame the head coach, but the buck stops with him, and it's not improving, its getting worse. As much as I hate it, I think we need to move on and find a new head coach.

If he gets fired, he's gonna leave behind a program that is in much better shape than the one he got...

Rodney Terry better not fucking sniff the HC position. Get him the fuck out.

I'd prepare myself for the exact opposite to happen, unless he loses in the 1st round of the NCAAs. He has a lot going in his favor for that job, stuff that matters to university's like UT. I'm with you, he is in way over his head, but that's not what one media member or university leader will say publicly.

I'm not sure that should have been a shooting foul. Lots of weird officiating in that game

Nah, that was the right call at the end, especially seeing it in real time from a ref’s eyes. TCU dude was just hugely clutch in that situation. Thought Tech should have had a better play with that much time left, to be honest.

After the first half, Self told the ESPN reporter that he mentioned that loss in Lawrence constantly.  Self didn't spare feelings about how shitty they were that game and they wanted revenge.

Truth--but that talent difference that was obvious in Lawrence in January was basically squashed completely last night. TCU looked way too tight and almost as if the lights at home were just too bright.
