I would honestly be shocked if Watson picked Aggy. Armwood has traditionally been a Gator feeder school.
Well “Gator Bait” has been banned.
Advantage aggy.

"Over 6100 aggys dies during WWII!?" Fucking hilarious.Total fiction. Fyi - The WWII death rate for West Point grads during WWII was 54.3 per thousand. This racist redneck is asserting the death rate for aggys during WWII was 300 per thousand, or 600% of the rate of West Point.
With the likelihood of fragging due to aggy incompetence &/or annoyance, he may actually be correct.

So a football player from 1969 and 1970 matters more than hundreds of thousands of alumni and 50,000 current students?
Now that's really dumb.
The Eyes are staying & zero dollars will be considered for BLM.

It's probably been mentioned in here, so apologies if so, but I have to point something out- many of the same athletes at UT who want to get rid of The Eyes because of its racist origins also use the N word about a thousand times a day, and that word is waaaaaay more rooted in racism and pain and oppression slavery than The Eyes is. only that's now how they use that word, so it's ok. they will continue to use the word, because as long as they can remember it's been a neutral term, if not term of affection. ipso facto there's no need to stop using it. well, that's what we call a double standard, and i wonder how many of them have considered that.
My thoughts as well.
Add to that the “saggin pants” trend. Ties back to the slavery days and was a message that an unruly slave had been “broken”. “Broken” slaves had been sodomized by the plantation owner or associates as punishment for their aggressive misdeeds.
Reasoning via analogies that should hit home may not have any effect though, we are talking about 18-21 year olds on a mission. At that age I fought as hard for a lot less & was often blind and deaf to any opinion other than my own.

I do not disagree that a long drive is a huge advantage but give me a guy that hits it 280 in the middle of the fairway and can putt.
From last years stats Gary Woodland is the best power/accuracy off the tee. 308 yds #13 & 86% accuracy @ #T17.
It’s tough to be elite in multiple categories when you are up against the top 150 in the world. When your third best “tool” gets hot is when these guys bank.

There is a large black ghetto in every city in the country. Most upper middle class and upper class suburbs remain overwhelmingly white/Asian. This won’t change during our lifetimes because it will take decades to change the education provided to the poor. It will improve but not materially for at least 30 years
The salary/charitable concept you described is laughable.. let’s not forget who is financing this country.
Dead on in regards to education, that is the single most important & obtainable task to further equality. The poverty stricken urban areas provide virtually zero chance to live the American dream.
The issue grows every single day, something has to be done & now.
Side note, LeBron James’ commitment to send qualifying/troubled kids to college at no cost paid huge dividends. Nearly 2000 kids who were on track to either drop out or end a futile attempt at education at 12th grade will be attending Kent State University.

I have no fucking idea if they play. What I do know, is that if it plays out like golf is currently being played (no fans). It will not be the same.
I thought golf would be the most immune to no fans. But, it actually does impact the broadcast. And if you’re a long time golf watcher you will notice the players play different, act different and don’t seem particularly in to it.
Players shouldn’t be as effected by the lack of fans. They played their entire careers up til the PGA (avg age 27 or so as rookies) in front of little to any fans.

So COVID-19 is actually saving CFB?

The Eyes was written/first performed in 1903. The Cowboys began in 1922. So, The Eyes was performed for at least 19 years before being performed by The Cowboys or at a Cowboys' minstrel show. It is interesting to me that so much of the debate is focused on who might have done what, or what was the intent of college students, more than 117 years ago, with the most cited "evidence" being an Alcalde article published approximately 80 years after the fact. Ultimately, nothing can (or will) ever be proven as an historical fact one way or the other, which means neither side of the argument is likely to budge.
Not sure that will effect the offended parties, but personally it helps justify my feelings (rather keep the Eyes if possible & support all other requests aside from BLM funding).
To each their own but I asked my son about his maternal heritage & the fact he wore a Hugo Boss suit to several Jewish events with knowledge of the ties to the Nazi Party. He stated his awareness & sees the brand as it operates today vs it’s past in a circumstantial era.
To each their own.

Just this am was thinking this would be a great idea, but not at Texas “Don’t mess with Texas (Uni’s)”.
Separate note:
Anyone know if “The Eyes” was exclusively a minstrel/black faced Cowboys application for an extended period of time or was it a one off &/or blended with several scenarios after that original intro?

This will all come down to money. I wonder how it will work out.
Yup.
Best guess, all requests will be honored In large part with the exception of The Eyes & the funding of BLM.
That will satisfy most but not all, in this scenario we move forward as a better place with the ones who really have the University in their hearts.

So they couldn't change a schools 130+ year history during a 2 hour meeting so he's leaving school? Ok
Not necessarily. Sounds like he quoted the potential defense of why The Eyes are so important to “the other side” if not BMD’s particular.
Regardless, things are moving but they aren’t settling overnight & emotions are high yet not permanent. Shall we say fluid?
I respect the right to his opinion, but it does seem like Mitchell isn’t a good fit here. If true that he quit before, regardless of your feelings you have to let him go In peace and don’t look back.
should be noted that the vast majority of social media supports these young men & their right to stand up for their opinion. Regardless of outcome, the support & recognition is important.
Changes will be made for the better & whoever & whatever stays will benefit from a stronger & greater institution.
No person or tradition is greater than the University & it’s supporters.

Another way of phrasing this is that the black players won't get treated differently than white players when they both wear what they wear at home and listen to their favorite music.
Yes, your description is a lot easier on the eyes/ears for those that struggle to see the bottom line.
3rd policy change listed by Gottlieb should help with the defense of “The Eyes”, what the sagging pants means to these young men is far different than that of its origin/introduction.
Change is inevitable folks & if it helps, let’s remember when our bedrooms & locker rooms where initially banned from the “Devil” & “Highway to Hell”.
