Because we're in the Joe Biden thread and I don't have anything good to say about Joe Biden.

Fuck Joe Biden. He's a pile of shit and that didn't change because he won the primary.

Literally nothing said here, pro or con, means anything at all in terms of getting rid of Trump.

We could all circle jerk each other's dicks off about Joe's blessed splendor and it would change the vote totals by 0.00000001%.
We could all join the anti-Joe jihad and swear loyalty to Fuhrer Trump and it would change the vote totals by 0.00000001%.

I know that shaming people online feels like political action, but it's not. Tweeting and posting aren't political action. They don't actually matter in the real world. If they did we'd have a 3-way race between Bernie, Pete, and Liz.

That's all true I guess. Posting on an online forum is basically mental masturbation.

Tell me more about the dick circle jerks. I'm intrigued.

Ok, I can see how that might be your initial impression, but do you think that actually makes sense?

If I think Joe Biden would be a better president than Donald Trump then I should have zero negative thoughts about Joe Biden?

Not to be rude but, how old are you?

I appreciate you granting me the latitude to support whomever I like, but in case you're not trolling and are genuinely confused, I don't support Trump at all. I'm not a Republican and never have been.

I will not be voting for Donald Trump or encouraging others to do so.

If someone were to ask the best of the two candidates to vote for, I would say Joe Biden.

Fair enough. That all being the case, why do you post so much anti-Biden stuff? He's not my ideal candidate by any stretch, but he's what we have. How does constantly attacking him advance what I believe should be the primary aim of any moral and decent person to get rid of racist misogynist anti-poor Trump?

    Like what?

Well, you posted a picture of a woman wearing a photoshopped shirt that said Biden can grab her....That strikes me as a pro-Trump post because it denigrates his opponent Joe Biden. You're of course free to support whomever you want, but what about Trump do you like so much?

But he wasn’t, hopefully, during the democratic primaries. Where there were 3 or 4 superior candidates, and also Bernie Sanders.

anyone saying they will vote for joe because trump is way worse, hopefully didn’t vote for joe in their state primary/caucus. It didn’t have to be joe vs Donny.

I voted for Warren. Trump is literally evil and deadly incompetent. Voting for Joe will be easy.

I can't imagine why anyone would double-up the ledger.  If it's anchored every 16", I wouldn't think two would be any stronger than a single.

It's a commercial building and that's what the structural engineer called for. I was curious about that as well and read on an engineering forum that the double board is required to allow for sufficient nail length (3") for the joist hangers. My engineer called for the anchors to be staggered every 12".

  6. I'm attaching a doubled up 2x12 ledger board to a concrete foundation for a deck. I'm trying to figure out if I should use epoxy secured anchors or expansion/wedge anchors. The epoxy is pretty pricey and a slower applicattion compared to wedge anchors, but I've read online epoxy is a much stronger hold. Is the difference in hold strength worth the price and trouble?

  7. Anyone know of a structural engineer in the San Antonio area with reasonable fees? I'm building a smallish wood deck at my office and I need an engineer to inspect the sonotube concrete footings I'll be pouring (in person or via photos/video if allowed by their rules) and provide a letter to the city affirming their adequacy (depth, diameter, rebar support). Thanks for any suggestions.

sorry guys haven't slept but 2 hours and have had to actually do my day job - the search engine going back to mysql during the migration state has cause us to fill up the disk a few times which is why we got the gateway errors (we are running on a single node in the old datacenter) I'm configuring the new datacenter to receive traffic tonight so tomorrow everything should be back to normal (or better than normal as we added more servers)

Let's get back to this idea.

Not really dumb, not exactly a wise move.  Unless we have photos or something sketched out, I won't know exactly how to advise.  Some thing it's easier to do because there's less interference from the existing roof, & while that's true it also adds extra labor for the floating portion AND extra labor for closing in the high side.

    Where do you live?

San Antonio. I'm thinking something like this,

  10. I want to build a covered patio onto the back of my house that is higher than the roofline of my house which is fairly low. My thought is to install a wide large capacity gutter onto the house eave and then a basically free standing patio structure that is two feet taller than the house roof. Hopefully the large gutter would divert heavy rain flows from the patio. Dumb idea?
