I have to wonder at what point does the flood of information come out. If it really is Banks, Flood, Wiggins, Golding and Milwee, you'd have to assume Sark is gonna hit the ground running before NSD2 right? So immediately after the game? During? Right after?

It's pretty clearly going to happen the day after the National Championship Game. Until then, unfortunately, it's all 9.95 bullshit and, apparently, ice cream photos.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I think trading Watson might be the best move.  I love Watson, but let's face it the Texans are years away from being able to assemble a competent roster around him in our current draft situation.  It might make more sense to get the value we can now and officially "announce" we're rebuilding rather than trying to hobble along.  I also hate for a talent like Watson to waste his talent in this situation.  Might be a win/win.

You might be right. But I have zero trust in an organization led by an owner who is simply not bright (level 2 source), who apparently only listens to a pastor when it comes to football decisions, and who apparently thinks if he hires enough of the pastor's buddies they'll win a Super Bowl.

The Texans don't get the benefit of the doubt, but the word is that Bienemy hasn't interviewed well in the past. Still stupid not to interview him.

I think Daboll is the best candidate of the popular names. I also think that there's got to be a more efficient way of finding good candidates than the best coordinators in the league, but hell if I know of any alternatives.

Daboll is an Easterby guy. If he's the hire it means shitface pulled the strings on the GM and the coach hire. Fuck that. Fuck Easterby. And Fuck OU.

  4. The Texans are so fucked. And I am here for it. Don't blame Watson one bit.

Rumors already are circulating, and we’ve already heard them from multiple different people, that Watson has quietly broached with teammates the possibility of requesting a trade. If that’s happening, it may just be a strategic effort to ensure his views are respected by ownership. Regardless, it raises the stakes and crosses a bridge and potentially sets the foundation for Watson eventually to decide that he’d like to continue his career elsewhere.

  5. Haha fuck Cal. Hires Korn Ferry to do a search. They come back with five candidates. none of whom is Nick Caserio, Easterby's buddy.

A few days later Cal hires Nick Caserio.

I tried to like this franchise for a couple of decades. I give up. Fuck off, losers.

Love it. Herman has been fired for like 4 hours. WHY NO NEW COACH? NO PLAN. DOOMED!!!!

But Texas fans would also have been fine with firing him on December 12 and waiting a month bc “we can haz Urban maybe?”

Theres no winning with Texas fans.

Or with Texas football. But here's hoping Sark will fix that!

If Chip Brown is reporting it's Sark, and there's also media out there reporting he turned the job down, don't you have to go with the latter?

Feldman is reporting he hasn't turned it down, and he is pretty good.

If you're relying on Brando for any actual news, you're doing it wrong.

It’s possible that his last head coaching job ended because he was coaching games drunk. I don’t care how you want to rationalize it. This is a huge roll of the dice that could set us back another decade.

I'm pretty sure we agree -- it is a huge roll of the dice. I guess I'm desperate enough to see Herman gone that I'm willing to roll the dice on a plus recruiter who has had consistently inventive offenses. Hopefully the adults leading the coaching search have assured themselves that he's not going to be coaching games drunk any further.

Donors are not shelling out 25 million to replace Tom with a failed alcoholic head coach. And if they did, they would not be announcing it right before the new head coach has to coach in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

    Except they are.

It's just possible the decision makers know more than you. It's just possible they realize we're not getting Urban fucking Meyer, and that Brian Kelly isn't making a lateral move from Notre Dame to Texas. It's just possible that Sarkisian is one hell of a recruiter and football coach when sober.
