I mean, Campbells makes a passable clam chowder, and there's a 100% chance that's what they served you.
Yet there was something about having that dirty hippie lay his hands on my food that made it taste just a little better.
They probably talked about the guy who ordered the clam chowder for weeks.

I had clam chowder at Thundercloud back in the 90s. Honestly, not awful, and I didn't die.

What's the brand on that thing and where did you get it?
Cammoo, which I belive may be Chinese for "never heard of it." But it was well reviewed and a bit cheaper a few months back from its current $299 price tag. It's also really robust. They have lots of different models/sizes/configurations and Cambro-style transport warmers. My first experience involved a lot of food. So I was playing with the dial to keep things around 150F. In other words, the random numbers on the dial didn't line up precisely with the thermostat (apparently near the middle rack). I may have to use a remote-probe thermometer to dial it in, but for what I was doing on Thanksgiving, a 10 degree differential wasn't a big deal. If I'm holding a brisket or some such, I'll probably employ some extra technology to keep an eye on things. But I also didn't have any water in the pan, which probably helps serve as a heat sink. For the $260 or so I paid, I'm very happy with it.

Yeah, the stuff I got is 1" green painters tape.I need to do this again myself.
As a note, I’ve found painters tape works as well and comes off easier. I make a small fold at one end to give me an even easier time getting it off.
Black sharpie shows well with it, and can be either 3M or Frog Tape. I’ve used both.

So are we not getting the sex wagon BBQ pit combo for industrial catering?
Well, it would give Immamac a place to live. Plus, if what I've read about Longhorn Jesus is true, he will be back.

After Thanksgiving weekend concluded, I realized we were out of some "legit kitchen accessories." So today, I ordered 24 32-oz. Deli Containers with lids, a masking tape dispenser, and 3 rolls of green masking tape to label leftovers. The lids fit all sizes, and they stack so well. Our Tupperware-type stuff is wearing out and disappearing and probably won't reappear and finding a matching lid always was a pain.

Purchase update: I grabbed one of these in black a while back when my Vox was in the hospital. I haven't played it much, but took it to my buddy's house for a writing session the other night. Holy crap, it's really good for the money. It doesn't crunch up very well but if you keep it between the ditches it has a really credible oh-so-slightly gritty tone. Fender Pro Jr. IV LTD:
I've never heard a discouraging word about a Pro Jr.

I have it on my Vibroverb and its the tits.
All this Super talk has me looking at Supers though. And it seems you can get a vintage one for about the same price as a new one. That seems odd to me.
Depends which one. The 50s tweeds are pretty rare if I recall correctly. There's a 5f4 on Reverb with a $13k ask, which is nuts. I've got a Clark Penrose (Tweed Super Clone), and once I figured how the treble knob was basically like a drive/gain knob, I've really have enjoyed it. The early 60s "Brown" Supers seem to be pretty close to the new ones in price (I know this is the one we're talking about, harmonic tremolo and all)

I'm out of my element here, like a child wandering into the middle of a movie, but my son wants a setup for Christmas and I'm trying to figure it out.
It'll be going off with him to his dorm somewhere next year, so the use case isn't going to be audiophile hipsterism cred, but something functional and space-efficient that won't hurt too much if it gets screwed up.
I quickly eliminated the all in one units as I understand they're hot garbage. What I was leaning toward at this point was something with a built in phono amp and bluetooth transmitter. That way I could get him a pair of portable bluetooth speakers which could serve a dual purpose when he wants to take them to do outdoors stuff. Or if he wants to get some wired speakers at some point, he could go that route.
Wirecutter, which seems reasonably reliable, likes the JBL Spinner BT for that purpose, but any other ideas or thoughts about that plan? I'd like to keep it in the neighborhood of $400 for the turntable. When our older son was in the same boat, we got him a Fluance RT81. I think it has a preamp, but we just gave him an older amp we had lying around with a phono input. It's been a good table for him and has survived college so far.

That's a lot more expensive than my anecdote, but it resonates in a similar manner:
Years ago I was driving down Airport Blvd and I saw a guy on the sidewalk carrying a 7-11 bag. This was Friday evening, right at quittin' time. Out of nowhere the bag burst and his just-purchased 6er of bottled beer disintegrated on the sidewalk. The look on his face was gut-wrenching. He was probably gonna have a nice night, drinkin' some Buds, watching some hockey or some such but no, God stepped in and destroyed his evening.
Similar story. I was working and I hear some dude walking down the street behind our office saying some weird shit. I look out the window in time to see a guy with a plastic bag from the nearby convenience store. The thing is loaded with 40s of malt liquor. Predictably it breaks and one bottle falls to the pavement and shatters. The dude loses his shit and proceeds to smash the rest of them on the street while yelling shit that would make Red Foxx blush. Foolishly, I did not get my phone out in time to record his tantrum.

Just a simple Scottish breakfast: sausage roll with egg (used Lorne sausage, so left Scottish sausage). Simple, damned fine. To dress it up, add a crisp slice of black pudding, but I didn’t want to break out my last roll of black pudding just yet.

Also, in digging through some old recipes, found my mom’s handwritten cobbler recipe. This is how she (and now we) have made cobbler my whole life. Best with peaches or dewberries. I go a bit heavy on the fruit - this version of the recipe doesn’t say it, but it calls for 2 cups. I usually go with 2.5 cups. And the bake time ends up slightly longer, nearly an hour, because you want the crust to brown some on top.

Not making a cobbler now, just thought some of yall might appreciate it.Seeing one of my parents' handwriting on anything is such a great nostalgia jolt. I was laughing the other day about the fact that over the years, my mom emailed me copies of her Thanksgiving dressing recipe. She apparently had two versions, one of which was derived from the other. But I have them both in my recipe file. The one I use calls for one cup of onions. The alternate recipe calls for eight onions. That one is labeled "not the recipe but saved for posterity's sake."

I've avoided this thread because I knew I'd be late watching the show. E1 was some shit. The title sequence to E2, for someone who's read the book several times is a masterpiece
