It’s a tough time for Dotard, but at least he has his wife and five children by his side.

Oh wait none of them have spent one second there.

Couldn't have seen that coming from this bastion of empathy.

Short sales apply downward pressure on the price of an over-valued stock. Just plain sales of a stock do, but less so.

Yes, the stock market/financial markets are a big load of bullshit, but short selling has been around for a long time and is regarded as a "price discovery mechanism." That is, it helps the market figure out the best or right price for a stock.

It keeps people betting no matter how the "market is doing."  It's like free drinks in a casino.

He literally threw a fit when the driver refused to take him to the Capitol. He tried to seize the wheel. He knew his presence would be decisive. When he drives up, the tear gas stops.

If he succeeds in being driven to the Capitol, he takes one look at that fracas and stays in the car and asks to be driven to a safe location.  I stand by my previous what if statement.  He is not a courageous enough person to go in with his "troops."  But throwing a tantrum is right in line with his personality.

This assumption on my part makes him no less responsible for it all.  But the man is a coward in my estimation.  He purportedly wouldn't even fire people (outside of a game show).  He always got others to do it.

As to the game of What If, there are no winners.  To quote Joshua, "The best move is not to play."

I think we have a crisis of epic proportions.

Are the Capitol Police going to block the President of the United States if he orders them to step aside? Once he is in, would they stop the mob?

Trump makes it to the chamber where the votes are tallied. Do the GOPs unite except for Mitt Romney? They sured backed the SOB when impeached later on.

What does Pence do? I think he resists Trump, but wuld it matter?

Nancy Pelosi orders that Trump be removed from the chamber. Who tries to do this? There's a mob present.

Trump demands the box of electoral votes or walks to the dais to take them himself. What does the SS do to Senators who choose to physically intervene? Again, the mob presence.

Chaos. The count is stopped. Trump's minions in the Pentagon keep the Army in check. Trump orders the Army to remain where they are. Military mutiny? What happens to Nancy and Pence?

If Trump leads the mob back out, we have less chance of immediate violence. If he tells them to stay, does the Capitol get retaken through military assault?

The world watches what is possibly the end of the Republic of the United States.

Do soft, suburban boys like me take up arms? I doubt it. It's too nice in the living room with your TV and steel-belted radials for the pick up truck you drive to the office in.

Those Secret Service agents were key. A horrible day could have been worse. Far worse.

Trump was perfectly happy back in his air-conditioned enclosure playing on his phone.  He wasn't going anywhere near the fray.  First whiff of tear gas and he would have turned on his heels if he even had gotten out of the car.  He had to have the streets cleared of protesters so he could have his picture taken with the Bible.  The scenario you present is indeed terrifying.  But he never had and never will have the balls to put himself in danger of any physical harm or being that close to his ilk when they are all tuned up and shit gets real.  He's not walking in and seizing anything.  He's not willingly going within 200 yards of the Capitol (even riding in the back of The Beast) when that shit was going down.  He's a shit-poster.  He's a meme stock.  He's not Patton or Omar Bradley.

We have reached peak saturation in our cultural media. Literally everything anybody posts can be followed up by a meme or clip from a movie or TV show.

It's the logical extension of the Simpsons did it! bit from South Park.

Blue Sky was on more mix tapes (not just mine) in college than I can even count.

What’s that different from 2007 to today? Smartphones? 2% of cars being fully electric? Gender pronouns?

The existence of smart phones would gut quite a few movie and tv show plots that were written before they existed.

Dude, Where's my Car is a 10-minute movie if set in a contemporary time period.

Harold and Kumar Uber to White Castle, anyone?

It could be worse, folks.  Let's just hope the jury is nowhere close to being "a jury of his peers".

Most of his peers are in prison on his behalf.  So . . .

Ok so if someone wanted to shop for a 5e3, what would the surly guitar mafia recommend?

If you can find one, get a Magic.  He stopped building a while back, but they live up to their name.

Apart from that, I'm a huge fan of Jim at Lil Dawg.  He's comparably reasonable on price and an absolute joy to deal with.  He'll spec it out however you like, all original, with mods, whatever.

Then there's Clark and Speed Shop.  Both very well thought of and priced accordingly.

The Magic 5e3 (Mike Moody, the builder, on guitar)

Jim at Lil Dawg Built my Harvard 1x12.  One of his 5e3s is on Reverb used for $1,300ish.

    Speed Shop: http://www.tweeddeluxe.com/

I think Clark may just be building spec amps and putting them on Reverb.  My 5f4 Super is a Clark and built like an absolute tank.

I also like how Trump put "unlimited" in quotation marks like he got cut off from breadsticks at Olive Garden because he left the premises to go to Burger King and then came back for more breadsticks.  There's a John Pinetta joke in there somewhere.

also, we know he may very well get convicted on a lot of this stuff but will never see the inside of a jail cell.  But to game it out, since the Secret Service never thought this could happen in a thousand years...what would his cell situation be?  Obviously he would not be placed in GenPop, he'd have a solitary cell.  But would an agent be in there with him at all times?  Or would two stand guard outside?  What's the protocol on having non-prison personnel packing heavy weapons inside a federal or state prison?  What's to stop 50 inmates from bum-rushing them all at once to grab their carry?

Well, if he ever is convicted in a federal court, I believe Federal prisons are considered secure facilities.  Hays State Prison in Georgia?  Not so much.

Kind of crazy how an ex-president can be so objectively wrong about everything he talks about.

"I was told I could have three judges! And I could pick them! And I was PROMISED the trial could take place by the pool at Mar-a-lago!"

    I was told I wouldn't have a cell mate.
