  1. Didn't he ask to transfer venue?  How about Vietnam?  He might want to stick it out stateside.  Plus, bone spurs.

    Hanoi CNN  —

A court in Vietnam sentenced real estate tycoon Truong My Lan Thursday to death over her role in a 304 trillion dong ($12.46 billion) financial fraud case, the country’s biggest on record, state media reported.

    That's a lot of dong.

So Dark Tower question - should I read The Wind Through the Keyhole in between 4 & 5? Or read it last since it came out last?

I still haven't read it.  It's just a couple of side stories from what I understand.  If it's been a while since you read Salem's Lot, it might be a better tie-in at that point in the series.

  3. Like most things, there is a segment of the population that will have weird and negative side effects. I've watched a lot of YouTube videos by those 10% who get bad gastro issues, bad results, immune responses, etc. but for 90% (it seems, made up numbers) it seems safe and easy button.
I was fine on it for a year and a half, until I wasn't. Oh well.

Come to think of it, Trump's hands would most certainly have fit in those gloves.

They just slow-rolled the trial on Trump.  Damn you, Garcetti!

Will the trial be televised? If not I really hope the courtroom artist is a troll at heart

It was all about the venue.  The DA should have filed the case in Santa Monica judicial district instead of downtown Los Angeles.  That is all that mattered in this case.  Everyone knew he did it.  The jury just did not care.

    Username sort of checks out.

  7. Anyone with skills want to modify the aggy roller coaster shamepaint with Trump's head on the aggy body?

Where do those 36M shares come from? Are they currently held in reserve and exempt from trading or is the company going to have to buy a block and give them to him?

I'm assuming you meant 36 million shares, in that they eventually will be trading at around $1 per share.

Rumors are that Trump’s legal strategy will be to fire his attorneys before the start of the trial next week in hopes of creating yet another delay. Most likely his attorneys are behind it. Hopefully the judge calls bs and doesn’t allow another delay. Of course, if the judge rejects this move, those attorneys will request an opportunity to appeal that ruling.

    Good luck with that strategy.

Of course, when it doesn't work, I fully expect to see this next:

    I agree.

But I could see some of them thinking that he’s likely gone forever, but putting him on trial would give him a bully pulpit and platform to spread his infinite number of bullshit lies to his followers, all the while cementing the bona fides of his claims that he was being persecuted.

I have no idea if they made that call for those reasons, but if they did, it was a fuck up.

This.  Mostly likely, it was a terrible, tactical miscalculation rather than misguided, wishful thinking.

And those lower courts don't give a shit about the facts of the cases that they're grooming to send to the supremes.

Citizens United. Kennedy v Bremmer. Shelby v Holder.

I could keep naming cases that hinged on counterfactual findings in the district level that were carried and helpfully ignored every step along the way to the supremes.

I thought the District Court (Panel) in Citizens United upheld the constitutionality of BCRA?
